Excellent racing by Dovi to beat MM, that was a a good fight! Glad Dovi came out on top so at least MM is still within touching distance but the gap is slowly getting bigger. Was hoping a miracle that somehow DP could manage to beat MM too when he was catching up but alas not possible (as expected). sad.gif

VR & MV are slowly loosing the title fight as both were making mistakes they both could not recover from, more embarrassingly beaten by Zarco too!

I think at this stage, would need MM to make at least 1 more major error for the rest of the guys to catch up and prevent him from retaining his title. Dovi and the Duc is getting stronger but I doubt he can consistently challenge like just now.

yamaha seems losing ground after shifting from earlier season's chassis which Vinales won to "rossi's customized chassis"? I still remember Vinales said he prefer the earlier season chassis... with that, at least a yamaha rider can be consistently fast by "sacrificing" rossi's result..

Yeah this year's Yamaha is becoming more like a 'diva', sometimes very good but sometimes not so good. Both riders actually tested with all the chassis development to come to this point to select the latest chassis, so not sure where they got it wrong. Also even in the first few races when MV was winning, VR was actually still pretty competitive too and remember that he also almost won Le Mans. In this A1 Ring race, they both suffered from rear tire degradation after half way. Now the title are slipping away from both of them.

actually they struggle with the new tyre...

they were having hard time to adapt to new tyre...

because their bike were so fine-tuned from older tyre....

honda and duc not so much struggle because they really need that new tyre....so they were faster to adapt....

now with new winglet can see lorenzo have more confidence....

Yeah good observation, the M1s seem to to struggle more after using the newer tires, or maybe more sensitive to tire & track combination hence always confusing the riders at every venue as if they never have a real good baseline to start with.

I do hope they can come back and along with Dovi on the Duc can still challenge MM or else the intensity of the season will keep dropping every time as MM romps ahead... sad.gif

Yes but despite those mistakes, both also complained about the tire degradation, hence they both could not keep up with the pace at the front and dropped back.

MV also complaints about the tire deg and admitted that he has not ridden as he used to be to try adapt to the bike.

Everyone saying Silverstone will be real benchmark for Yamaha and Honda performance. Winner of this race will have the most bet for the year end championship...

But Silverstone sometimes got rain so not showing as a true indicator. Last year MV won the race but he or Suzuki was surely not near the title hunt.

Takaaki Nakagami confirmed at LCR in 2018. Great to see a Japanese rider in MotoGP again. Hopefully he can be among the top, maybe not next year but years to come. But then who knows? anything can happen, he may even be better suited for MotoGP. That would be cool hahahha.

Continuing with Aspar Ducati will be Karel Abraham. He's done a great job on the GP15.

dam I think nakano was the last best Japanese ever 2 line up in motogp with decent results despite not recording any podiums

of course old skool jap like abe and okada was still the last great jap heroes ever 2 grace the 500cc since sepang 1999 laugh.gif rclxms.gif

I rate aoyama worst than nakano despite both racing in the same year span laugh.gif doh.gif

Just wonder what could have been if Daijiro Kato did not pass.
