First day. We'll see on race day who is consistently fast.

As expected, Rossi the Sunday man. He didn't win but was top Yamaha. But I noticed the Yamahas were swamped at the start. Suzukis doing great, almost there. Marquez does not look comfortable on the bike. Maybe the injury, not sure. Crutchlow looks most comfortable of all the Hondas. Ducati strong, the one mistake for Dovi almost cost him the win. KtM still needs a lot of work.

Incapable of finishing ahead of suzuki says a lot about yamaha. ducati & honda have improved leaps & bounds while yamaha could only keep up with suzuki.

Inb4 hiring back burgess will solve all yamaha's problems tongue.gif

Hire back Davide Brivio

Vinales has spoken, he was disappointed to race with others in the group, causing him not able to use his line which produced fast lap, and wasted the rear tyre while trying to overtake others in the group.
He needs the classic "Lorenzo-Yamaha" holeshot and leading all the way from start to the end, don't allow others to interrupt his rhythm, lol.  rclxms.gif

Speaking of lines. I see all the bikes using different racing lines. They look like they are all over the place. Overtaking in corners seems difficult.

Bautista with another treble win. Feels like he's taking over the Rea role.

Rea probably thinking "this is how everyone else been feeling the last few seasons"

Maybe is not about the rider. Maybe Kawasaki is inferior to Ducati this season.. But using the same bike, where's Chaz??
*
Probably a combo of both. Chaz broke down in the final race but he was nowhere near the top 3 in other races. The Yamahas are very close to the Kawasaki, almost equal that it's down to rider skill in the fight. It's nice to see independent bikes fighting with factory bikes(in Yamaha's case)

Ya, Ducati got higher rev limit so higher top speed. Cap it to 15,000 rpm then Rea will be more happy to take the real fight.
*
Not just top speed, their electronics also better that they can control wheelspin thus exit/enter corners at better speed.

So you were implying Rossi can continue his 2nd part of motorcycling career and possible to become a WSBK champion?  flex.gif

With the right bike, no doubt Rossi can beat them all but I think by that time his age will catch up with him.

Probably still can win at least 1 title if he starts within the next year or 2 as long as he is given a competitive bike, no need the fastest one.
*
I agree. I would really like to see Melandri win a WSBK championship. He has bad luck with timing in most of his MotoGP and WSBK career.

That chap already used to 2 cylinder panigale, need some time adapt to V4. While Bautista is Motogp graduates, current panigale V4 also said engine similar with Motogp... Rea riding Kawasaki also 4 cylinder all this while..
*
Can't really compare MotoGP bike with SBK bike. Different tyres, different chasis, different electronics. Bautista however was quite underated in MotoGP, brilliant in lower classes.

I just watched race 4 replay of the wsbk. Bautista simply destroyed Rea and the rest of the field! A MotoGP reject can dominate like that shows how inferior these Wsbk riders compared to MotoGP. That's why I never really interested to watch Wsbk.
*
You should've watched 1st race. See how many secs Rea he left behind. doh.gif

I know it's just 2 races but seems like Vinales has more problems than Rossi. Next race at COTA? Not gonna expect much from this race...

Vinales good in qualy. Rossi the Sunday man as always.

Quite a bummer that he starts the season with injuries. I want to see how he measures up with MM in full form. Hopefully he recovers fast.
*
Read the article on crash.net. Apparently it was bad luck, accidentally pressing pitlane limiter, throttle rubber coming off, Abraham being aggresive. To me sounds like excuses. Pitlane limiter own fault, he requested the softer rubber, Abraham was just racing. Expect Honda to make these changes(like the gas tank at Ducati) and he'll win for sure(detect sarcasm). Did he get the Pedrosa jinx? Almost always starting with injuries.

Rossi deserved that win. Dovi is a good and fast rider and good at managing races. Rossi managed it better this time. Still not close to MM yet.

Next COTA....should be easy win win for MM.........

Anything can happen, hoping different manufacturer, makes interesting stats. In fact as many different manufacturers win this season is better. If Aprilia and KTM can improve later in the season would be good.
