QUOTE(6UE5T @ Mar 14 2017, 01:37 AM) Shoemaker a bit different, he was already getting old that time. Well VR will still race for another 2 years, hopefully still at similar high level. But I think he will have his hands full with MV now, maybe even more so than with JL. MotoGP has been the Spanish playground for quite some time now. Italians are not doing well here, no one at the same level of VR yet. Even Biaggi back then was comprehensively beaten, IMHO no actually a close and entertaining rivalry if you ask me. Just the media tried to stir up the rivalry but actually VR rivalry with CS/JL/MM were much more intense and close. Haha since jorge won in 2010 it has been spanish playground

Spanish riders have been flourishing because of the CEV championship, it's a good training ground. Now the British just started doing similar thing with British Talent Cup after Asian Talent Championship showing some result. That's why we are seeing an increase in Asian riders in Moto3. It will take some time but we'll have good Asian and British riders coming in the future. We see SuperKIP already graduating to Moto2 this year after just 1 year in Moto3. It was pretty impressive to win 2 races in your debut year albeit he still has to find consistency and more experience in dry races.

QUOTE(6UE5T @ Mar 14 2017, 11:50 AM) No, I meant compared to Casey Stoner when he retired coz that was what we're talking leading to that. So Shoemaker retirement was still rather understandable and not too much of a surprise given his age but CS was way too early to retire while still very much at the top of his game. If Stoner didn't retire too soon he'd probably become like Mick Doohan too Jack Miller is carrying the torch for Australia but he's riding a satellite bike Aaand now we're stuck with Spaniards dominating the sport Where's the Americans have gone lol

Meanwhile WSBK has become more F1-ish Reverse grid kek. It won't work anyway http://crash.net/wsbk/race-report/241810/1...hai-double.htmlThis post has been edited by RalphRatedR: Mar 14 2017, 05:58 PM

Lucky F1 still not doing that or else I will be very disappointed!

QUOTE(RalphRatedR @ Mar 14 2017, 08:51 PM) Meanwhile Honda... quite humiliating for honda.. . but that fireblade is still quite new. oddly enough, yamaha gaining competitive now with the new r1. though i reckoned it gonna take few years before they can challenge kawasaki domination in wsbk.

QUOTE(6UE5T @ Mar 15 2017, 01:03 AM) Oh really, who started it? Not sure but I remember seeing it during Colin Edwards/Aaron slight/troy corser era. I remember coz their numbers were 1,11 and 111 and usually running close together. No doubt Rossi was credited for it since his bang up with gibernau.
