Yeah will be good if we have a new champ like Dovi.
Well love him or hate him, MM is still damn fast (probably still the fastest) and tough to beat! I would not bet against him for this years title. He would have still retained his lead if not for the blow out.

The Honda has not been outright strong this year. Favours different rider on different tracks from what I observe. I guess they are trying to make the Honda suit a variety of riders rather being rider specific. This has been hinted by Crutchlow a few times. They probably want it to be like the Yamaha, rider friendly ie any rider be comfortable and fast on it. Problem is they have too many Honda bikes on the grid, too much variety. The 2017 Yamaha also having identity crisis unlike the 2016 chasis.

Hmm tires also play a very important role on how each race goes and that has been very unpredictable too. But for the Honda, it seems to suite MM the best still, which is the correct way IMHO. If Honda do take the strategy that you said, I think that's a big mistake and Honda should just focus on him coz he is their best chance to win. But I'm glad if Honda screws up MM once a while so that we can have a more interesting season!  laugh.gif
Well that is surely part of what has made him a 3 time champ at his very young age.
*
No doubt about his talent but I think Honda was thinking of 'post-marquez' Other riders coming seems to be unable to cope with the Honda. This could be a problem in manufacturer championship, I think they would want other Hondas to be consistently on the podium along with marquez. And if Marquez suddenly feels like he wants to prove himself with another manufacturer, honda will be in big trouble.

Yeah bad news sad.gif  , he would miss at least 2 upcoming races, maybe even 3 coz the doctor said will take about 30-40 days to recover.

http://www.crash.net/motogp/news/881592/1/...days-to-recover

So realistically 'only' a 3 horse race now.

He is even missing the Italian F1 race lol

VR seems to be such a thrill/speed junkie that he just cannot stay away from such activities, unfortunately often injuring him.

So for this weekend Misano race, I wish the result will be:
MV
MM
DP
Dovi
*
DP
Crutchlow
Iannone

Why? Just so the championship gets closer.

Motogp riders complaining high downforce of F1 cars causing the track to become bumpy. So fellow lyn races, F1 or Motogp you choose if both can't coexists? Haha
*
Quite dangerous for MotoGP and other bike races those ripples on the track. I think there's plenty of tracks in the world for them to race on. Doesn't have to be the same track. In this case, Sepang made the right economical decision to pull out of F1 races, no need to repave so often, while Singaporeans will have to live with bumpy roads lol.gif

If want to bring in DP back into the mix then the top 3 (Dovi, MM & MV) needs to crash into each other while DP wins!  laugh.gif
They share 5 tracks now which will be 4 in the future:
Austin
Barcelona
Austria
Silverstone
Sepang

Which ones are they complaining as bumpy btw? I assume it's Silverstone coz that's when F1 goes first not long before MotoGP, hence no time to fix the bumps.
Both surely can coexist as there are plenty other tracks available. Schedule also can be adjusted so MotoGP can race first before F1 comes.

If I were really to choose?? Tough one, maybe F1 coz I love cars more than bikes and I can relate to driving but not riding. I also started to follow motorsports from F1 during the Senna era when I started driving and got in awe of how difficult to drive so fast in such precision with the wheels just brushing the barriers on street tracks like Monaco. But yeah I have the absolute awe at those MotoGP racers, they're truly the ultimate maniacs thrill seekers speed demon! Anyway we will never be faced in such tough situation to choose so good for us!  laugh.gif
*
Definitely dangerous for bikes, you can see them hardbraking with the front brakes with the rear wheels in the air. Imagine doing that with bumps on the track, they have to steer with one moving wheel.

Good job by Petrucci getting to the front but once there he couldn't pull away, The conditions seem to favour the GP17 a lot. MM of course did a great job, compared to DP who is at the other end of the grid.

I do wonder, when VR retire, who will they support..
if based on rider personality, i guess MM the nearest to VR.. hmm..
*
Most probably Dovi will be the Italian favourite, if Morbidelli does well in MotoGP he could be a favourite. I wish Marco Melandri would come back once the Aprillia becomes a winning machine.

Could have been marco simoncelli if not 4 the fatal crash in sepang doh.gif doh.gif The guy just spread his wings and boom no more cry.gif cry.gif

QUOTE(6UE5T @ Sep 11 2017, 02:00 PM)
Yeah most likely they will support Dovi after VR, especially if Dovi can win this year's title or at least stay as competitive like now for more years to come.
Actually Marco was inconsistent, sometimes fast but often crashed too, and IMO he's quite a dirty rider who was prepared to endangere other riders unfairly with his moves, hence I'm not a fan of his.
*
Italian crowd definitely won't support MM as much as Rossi despite being an awesome rider. For Rossi, every track is like a home track coz he has legions of fans everywhere no matter the country.

Simoncelli was fast but he still had that lower category aggressive style, that's while he crashed a lot, most riders who moved up were also aggresive but toned down later years as they learn how to change their riding style in MotoGP. Being overly aggressive isn't suitable as the machines are heavier and more powerful hence you need to adjust your style. You will tire easily if you don't and they need to make sure they have enough energy to race the whole distance. It is one of the reasons most rookies fade in the later stages, also being aggressive won't make the tyres last till the end.

Safe to say now DP is out of contention already, coz too far back from the top 3. Very surprised that he was so bad in this race, hence still not even overtaken VR in the standing.
*
Yeah, I really feel bad for him, can't seem to get the heat into those tyres. People have been talking about who is going to replace Rossi, but the other big question is who is gonna replace Pedrosa? He definitely isn't safe after 2018. My prediction is Nakagami could go up to factory team if he does well next year. The Honda satelite teams seem to be ditching their riders except for Cal, who is happy at LCR.

Yeah that's the thing with DP, can be very fast on occasions but also very bad in others, hence never world champ material. Any other Honda riders from lower classes which look decent? I haven't been paying attention to those other classes anymore, except for yesterday when Morbidelli crashed hence Luthi now got close in the standing.
*
Morbidelli and luthi will be teammates at Marc VDS next year. Alex Marquez has improved a lot, who knows, maybe we'll see the Marquez brothers both at Repsol Honda. Those 3 are the top 3 riders currently. There's Mathias Pasini, he did a stint in Motogp quite awhile ago but I doubt he'll move up, he's quite old now. Hafizh syahrin is also someone who's been in moto2 for quite awhile, this season hasn't been that good for him which could hurt his chances of moving up though previous seasons he's always in the top 10.
There's Franco Bagnaia of sky racing but I'm guessing he will move up only when sky racing move to motogp. That could be in 2021 which is a long way to go, he is in his Rookie season anyways. Disclaimer :This statement in this paragraph is just my speculation.

Who knows, when Rossi comes back, win all remaining races. He will probably be aiming for a Yamaha 1 & 2 in the championship if possible. He's a racer, of course the championship is important but winning races are still the target.

more like he still race for fun & to entertain his loyal fans.  smile.gif

2 years ago he was still riding without mercy eg incident with MM. Also this year still aggressive with Zarco.
