Went to Sg Besi branch yesterday, they have selected units of highline model for late Nov to early Dec delivery. As of yest 3 units silver, 2 white and 1 blue. Offering RM7k discount, RM5k tint and coating for free from llumar and also free chrome addons worth 900.

My trip to service my wife's polo ended up with an upgrade to the new tiguan!! 😂😂😂

how about supra? can hit >1000hp

come on we're comparing mid sized suvs, not sports cars. both are RM170k range and german. i like the tiguan's gadgets but cannot imagine myself on highway with the 1.4 engine, thus Q5 could be a good alternative despite being an old design with its 2.0. it is 1-2 years old and still has 2-3 years warranty left, and it uses a proven autobox rather than a dct.

my swedish car has 300+hp, so a downgrade to 150hp with heavier curb weight may be too drastic when switching to a family SUV.

if you cannot even discuss on a forum, i sure hope you do better in real life.  doh.gif

The new Tiguan is far from sluggish. Judging from your comment, it is obvious you haven't driven one before.

For city driving, it is more agile than the X1 although the latter is better for high speed driving. After all the X1 has a 2 litre engine with twin scroll turbo.

Hei a big question , just test drive the comfort line as that the only one available . I found out that the road noise was appalling. I also test drive the cx-5 before this and I found that cx-5 noise insulation was way better then the Tiguan. I read online review saying that both both should have similar noise insulation. Does it had to do with comfortlines' using cheaper tyre . Will the highline be better

I have been driving MK7 Golf for 2 years (bought 2nd hand, 2013 made) and did about 50k KM with no issue at all. Now i will be getting a company car and the budget only allow Tiguan Comfortline or CX 5 2.0. Can I have some comment for sifus here?

I'm no cars sifu... Between those 2, I'd pick the 2018 CX-5 2.0 as it's still quite capable. With the CX-5, you'd get the following;
*Blind Spot Monitoring
*Dynamic LED Projector Headlamps with LED DRLs
*Passive Cruise Control
*Key-less Push Button Engine Start
*MZD Connect Infotainment System with Commander Control Knob
*Autonomous Braking System
*Dual-zone Automatic Climate Control
*Collision Warning
*Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and ...
*Yes, a Reverse Camera..

I consider the above significant features over the confort-line variant and let's not count in Mazda's track record with their petrol engine.. My 2 cents.

Nope.. Don't have to take my word for it. Feel ree to check either brand's official websites or pau***n's website for specs comparison.. The Mazda CX-5 2.0 2WD GLS gets all listed and are absent in the Tiguan's comfortline. Oh yeah, which also includes Adaptive Front-Lighting System (AFS) and Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) – front..

Budget only for the CX-5 2.0GL. It does lack of some features but still not that bad. After some thoughts, I still think CX-5 will be the preferred one. I will go and test drive later to confirm my decision.
