Don't get me started. I've been staying here almost a year with my boyfriend and I made a complain about one neighbor to the management and they took ONE month to send that person a letter about the disturbance they've been making which was affecting multiple people on multiple floors because the music was just so loud. Some of them made a complain as well but all went ignored until I really had to push it. Suddenly I received a threatening note the next morning outside my door because management gave out my floor and unit number to that person.
I was in the lift one day and these 2 men thought I was playing music on my earphone and thought I couldn't hear them so they were saying shit about me "she looks so young. I wonder if her parents pay for her to stay here or her boyfriend". I'm 22, and so what if it's my parents or boyfriend is paying? Super judgmental!
Next problem, a European man love to blast the gym aircond 16°C, max the fan and close all the windows. I try to compromise and others did too by adjusting slightly but ever since he gives dirty looks and attempted to provoke my boyfriend multiple times as he is leaving, eventually to the point where he would wait until his workout is over, say something offensive then calls guards to come as if there is an issue who are utterly confused as theres nothing going on. OMG!
He ran upstairs to cry to his Malaysian girlfriend to bring another guard with her hoping she could manipulate the guard into making us leave the gym and protect him from my boyfriend. My boyfriend never once communicated with him besides when he was first provoked so it was nonsense. The guard seeing there was absolutely no reason for any of this straight away left leaving the girlfriend screaming at me in my face, trying to embarass me while we were trying to relax at the pool. Shows what kind of people they are - pathetic and obnoxious. There are nice people here but this place seems to attract people who are passive aggressive and very privelaged, it can be difficult for those who like to mind their own business.
Sure, the units are fully furnished with "New York chic interior design concept", but the things here are extremely cheap.
- You have to quickly clean your mess off the countertops. If you leave the stain just for 5 minutes, it stays forever.
- The steamer does not go above 44°C, because when mine did, it broke. But apparently the maximum temp is 68°C.
- Aircond leaking.
- Toilet seat comes off easily.
- Pluumbing is weak. Flush but shit still comes up. And I shit a lot. LOL
- TV is awful. Looks nice when not turned on.
- There's been a few electrical faults that has affected the whole building a few times this year. Management did not inform anyone about it nor did they apologize.
- There seems to be insect problem in the building. And I tell u, I'm super OCD about cleanliness because my mom brought me up like that. I sweep and mop about 3 times a week. It may be just bad luck, but there's just way too many insects.
This condo is seriously full of shit. I wonder what kind of people the tenants are. Seriously, don't rent or stay here if you want your own peace. The people here wouldn't leave you alone! (Especially the European dude in the gym)
P.s: If you really wanna buy or rent or invest, DO NOT buy city view. Agents may play down the noise of the cars on the highway but it can be pretty difficult to sleep especially if you're a light sleeper.
Plus point, some of the guards are really helpful and friendly. Especially those who helped me with the noisy neighbour. But a lot of bad decisions seem to come from management. They even wanted to remove the library facility to use it as their management office.
Expected more businesses to open downstairs due to the LRT but it seems like they are more shutting down than opening. So as an investment, don't think it's that great or reliable.
Hey Kathy,
Thanks for sharing the issues you're facing as a resident at Eve Suites. Hope you're coping with it well and hope things turns out for the better for you & partner.
I'd like to add, the issues you've shared above are mainly down to 2 things:
1. Poor management
2. Non premium finishing.
I'm not trying to discredit your sharing, but rather I'm bring a more objective approach to this.
On the above matters:
1. It's unfortunate to have a weak management handling your residence. Usually this is caused by (1)disharmony and/or lack of unity among owners, or (2) meddling by developer to use their own in house management team which are substandard.
The solution to this in the short run is to take things upon yourself to rectify the social problem. Without hinting too much on what to do exactly, I'd relate this to a country - if a government is hopeless and police force cannot protect you, then the people often end up executing their own form of street justice. Bottom line - do what you need to do.
In the long term, the only real solution is to unite the owners and build a strong JMB, to which the management company is hired/fired and answerable to. It may not be easy or immediate, but it is worth it. A well maintained & well functioning residence may command a higher price simply because more people love it.
2. Non premium finishing - this is more of the owners concern.
Owners, you should be very concern because it will burn a hole through your pocket to fix all this nitty gritty defects.
Tenants, well.. as per Tenancy Agreement, do inform owner of damages immediately and document accordingly. Work out a solution for a win-win for all.
Anything else I can help with, just PM alright?

Wish you all well.
