Hi everyone,
I am trying to plant (still unsure what!) on my small farm in Pinang Tunggal, Kedah. Rented out this 1acre of land to a vege farmer and he was very reluctant to return it to me.
Finally, he agreed but I am currently facing this issue;
A. Finding a land surveyor to pin point the exact location of my land as there are more than 20 lots at the site. I failed to locate the demarcation stones now.
B. What item, fruits or vege to plant?
I am sorry to ask this seem to be noob questions. I am interested to plant since he agrees to return the land but hitting bumps along the way.
Any advice would really be appreciated as when I asked some farmers, they told me many negative comments such as;
A. Don’t waste yr time since it is such a small plot
B. Hard to find source of water. (I am thinking of getting tubing water from the ground
Thank you for reading my post.

First, I am a land surveyor. If you really want an accurate boundary, you need to get someone to be on site. If you do not need it, PM me the plan at the back of your title, perhaps I can put in Google for you.
Second, as you are not aware of the area, you may not know the water source. Since the farmer can be there for so many years, I am pretty sure sooner or later you will know the water source. Besides, if the land is near the main road, you can apply for the water utilities to connect to your land.
It would be good if you can look at fruits for the long term and vege as the short term. Harvesting of vege will be fast but need intensive care. Fruits will be good if you have full-time job out there and can only be there during the weekend. If vege, then you may as well get a small hut plus some chickens. You can join the local Persatuan Ladang and connect to the government agencies, they always got some funds to assist new farmers (not sure now though).
All in all, best wishes in your farming life. I know some great engineers become farmer and earn more than his job.
