Ended up here because I happen to catch a Soon Hock fish from yesterdays fishing and he's still alive in my yard haha. Reading the discussion above, now I understand why the fish is so expensive in the restaurants.

QUOTE(flintbatu @ Feb 21 2021, 02:12 PM)
Hi everyone,

I am trying to plant (still unsure what!) on my small farm in Pinang Tunggal, Kedah. Rented out this 1acre of land  to a vege farmer and he was very reluctant to return it to me.

Finally, he agreed but I am currently facing this issue;

A. Finding a land surveyor to pin point the exact location of my land as there are more than 20 lots at the site. I failed to locate the demarcation stones now.

B. What item, fruits or vege to plant?

I am sorry to ask this seem to be noob questions. I am interested to plant since he agrees to return the land but hitting bumps along the way.

Any advice would really be appreciated as when I asked some farmers, they told me many negative comments such as;

A. Don’t waste yr time since it is such a small plot
B. Hard to find source of water. (I am thinking of getting tubing water from the ground

Thank you for reading my post.

First, I am a land surveyor. If you really want an accurate boundary, you need to get someone to be on site. If you do not need it, PM me the plan at the back of your title, perhaps I can put in Google for you.

Second, as you are not aware of the area, you may not know the water source. Since the farmer can be there for so many years, I am pretty sure sooner or later you will know the water source. Besides, if the land is near the main road, you can apply for the water utilities to connect to your land.

It would be good if you can look at fruits for the long term and vege as the short term. Harvesting of vege will be fast but need intensive care. Fruits will be good if you have full-time job out there and can only be there during the weekend. If vege, then you may as well get a small hut plus some chickens. You can join the local Persatuan Ladang and connect to the government agencies, they always got some funds to assist new farmers (not sure now though).

All in all, best wishes in your farming life. I know some great engineers become farmer and earn more than his job.

Selling family plantation land. Register under company.
Condition : old rubber trees and some durian tree not well taken care of. We will clear off everything on our own cost before sell.
Raub, mukim Gali. 18.46 acres.
Rm140k an acre or RM2.584 million.
Leasehold until 2101.

No agents or brokers.
We are fed up with them.

Is ok. Hardly get a medium sized plot over there. Normally is 1-2 acres or bigger plot for corporations.

Nowadays agents and brokers all goreng for quick bucks. In fact us landlords being squeezed by unethical person. Check on their selling price then you will understand.

I know. Honestly I wish to do start farming. But looking at the price for a piece of land online, I can only dream...

looking to make use of some land to do an orchard (5ha) and side crops (3ha).

is there any recommendation on consultants or experienced contractors who I can discuss further on the planing ? ie type of crops to rotate, planting distance between trees and the layout of the orchard and farm.

Hi, is here still alive?

anyone here planting Vanilla?

Vanilla relies heavily on pollinator like bees. Without bees, you need to do it manually. Madagascar, the biggest exporter of vanilla dont have bees. They do it manually.

Ya, I do look into Vanilla as well, but it requires few years before it can start fruiting. So, I did not proceed. Do you already have land?
