QUOTE(seok @ Jan 31 2007, 04:26 PM) he said KTA is more stable for Mac.. value ram crashes a lot especially with heavy tasks load like photoshop/final cut/etc.. true true?? *sob. Dont worry about it, KTA is priced higher for a reason, you bought it and now what you need to do is ENJOY it! I assume yours is for Imac / Mac Pro? I dont think they have KTA notebook RAM right?

no I'm using Macbook.. and it's KTA notebook RAM that i bought.
Yeah u're right i should enjoy it instead of whining how much overpriced it is. anyway i'm also wondering if i were to buy another 1GB later on, do u guys think it's ok to use one KTA and one other brand ram, such as corsair etc..? or is it better to use 2 same brand? am currently running 1.25GB

Why wanna trouble yourself later knowing that you wanna upgrade to 2GIG later?

well i am. now 1 slot is 1GB and 2nd slot is 256MB. so 1.25GB all together.
so far no crashing and quite big improvements. haven't tried playing games but i'm sure it'll be alright.

Another alternative, you need get same speed ram(other brand) as your KTA for DualChannel to work. Sometimes with other brand, you still get dualchannel running. Or if you don't mind about dualchannel stuff, just get other brand as it much cheaper than KTA, unless you're rich

He IS rich, he just bought 1GB RAM for RM630! Hehe.. Be rest assured he is enjoying it! The next question he needs to ask is the 2nd piece, should he get a KTA or normal.
My guess is, NEITHER. 1.25GB is enough (well for me) 2GB RAM doesnt necessary help out in games due to max 64MB video memory. What I realised from my setup is I rarely use all 1.25GB of it.
