Hi guys, been a fuji user starting from May this year with the x100t , love the noise performance and the colours. Bought it as a companion for my Sony A7ii camera and as a travel camera and later switching fully to fuji with xpro 2

. Back to the question that someone ask here, why fuji and not sony, if u hav handle sony camera before u will know that it is slow to startup from Off to On state. My x100t takes 2-3sec but the a7ii took 3-5 second to get ready

and sometime longer (Xpro2 from 1-3sec) . For some it is bearable but for me it dampens my eagerness to take picture.
To me the sony camera has very loud shutter sound and it bothers me when taking pic in quiet environment, the fuji xpro 2 has lower shutter noise and dont need to talk about x100t its an angel in the shutter sound department

. If u compare the a7 series and the a6000 shutter its almost the same, its loud.
I was a canon user, canon 50d to be precise. Was using it for 5 years with 50mm 1.8 taking event photos. It show its age when in the 5th year, I know I need a new camera when I went to Japan and it cant focus on the subject anymore

. I was choosing between Sony, Olympus and Fuji camera. This time I need to hav video functionality so I opted between Sony and Olympus as fuji at the time wasnt known for their video capabiliities. The sony wins with the 5 axis stabilization and having the headphone jack without the need of extra battery grip attached (Oly EM5ii). The video department is a bliss but then I realize the shooting experience is something left to be desire. The menu is hard to navigate and been using it for a year and still couldnt remember where the setting for certain thing

. Couple with startup time and shutter sound, new system was on the mind

.
When talk about FF and aps-c, I found that FF recovers over expose highlight area better but the main reason I wouldnt mind aps-c over FF is the noise performance. When comparing sony a7 and fuji x100t noise, it is almost the same at ISO6400. Then it clicked to me that the reason I want to go for FF is the noise performance. If the noise is comparable why would I ignored the aps-c system (Mind u that I dont use ISO more than 6400). Yes I know the sony a7rii has better noise performance, but the price left something to be desired and the it doesnt even improve in the card write speed and startup time

. One last thing is the lenses price I didnt consider after switch to sony, its unbearble with our currency not improving and GST some more

Note:
- Fuji film simulation is a nice addition compared to other manufacturer filters.
- I tend to edit pic less with sony than fuji becaude sony measure the exposure correctly most of the time,
Fuji tends to overexpose or underexpose but the in-camera raw editor is saviour for this situation

The xpro2 improved in this department compared with x100t
Just to add the Fujifilm retro-like allows user to tweak the settings before turning on the camera, not sure if Sony allows this.
and don't take the fujifilm film simulation lightly, it's really addicting and hell, I bet you won't be editting your photos a lot after using it.
Hi! New Fuji user here. Just got myself a X-T10 with 18-55mm f2.8-4. Im sold off my Olympus OMD system to get this. Any tips on optimal camera setting i should know of? Im still learning how to use the interface and menus. Coming from OMD i definitely notice the speed difference...omd being faster.
Hi, welcome here! There are no optimal settings on the Fuji other than turning every dial you can find to "A".
Make use of the "Q" button, set your custom profiles for situations that you can think of (day light & night time). For me I'm a lazy guy, I use aperture priority only. ISO set to Auto from ISO200 - ISO 3200 with the min shutter speed of 1/60.
