23mm f/1.4 is really nice, my first Fuji lens. Nice bokeh and sharp but a bit slow for others, fine for my shooting styles. Haha. Let's see if there's such opportunity.
sold my 23mm F1.4 last year because rarely use, then bought 23mm F2 3 months ago, after using f2 now i miss F1.4 so much, big diffrent for image quality....
These ones bro. I've noticed the light transition from the models' face to their neck...so soft, no harsh shadows at all. I'm deeply impressed. It has to be a very big light source......can share your secret? Horses for courses. If you like to do portraits, 35mm is the best compromises between subject separation and flexibility and very doable in indoor settings as compared to the 56mm. I do agreed 23mm is a much more flexible compared to the 35mm (especially when it comes to group photos) but I often find it doesn't offer enough subject and background separation.
Very Nice photos as always Tan Choon Mun. Hopefully, this is not too much to ask, it is possible for you to post (perhaps just one of the three) the original before you retouched in Lightroom?
sorry ah, ori photo was deleted but can show you others if you want XD
Oh can can. Even just one will do, I would like to see before and after edit of the same shoot if you don't mind sharing....
By the way, how's the 23mm f2? I'm thinking of adding it to my lens collection....but already have 35 and 56, so I'm thinking might be too redundant....And seems like from your flickr page that you also mostly shoot with the 35 and the 56 as well....Perhaps can share your thoughts on the 23mm....?
these 3 photos capture with 23mm F2. 23mm F2 not sharp as others primes lens especially a own 23mm F1.4 before.
Thank you TCM for your effort ! Really appreciate it ! As I've mentioned, I'm thinking about the 23mm f1.4 ( will definitely drop the 23mm f2 off my radar since what you've said), do you think it's too close to the 35? Why did you sell the 23mm f1.4? Can share your story bro ?
23mm F1.4 not enough bokeh and i dislike this focal focal length, but main reason is its too big and heavy for me.
but after i sold it, i found that i need a lens wider than 35mm to capture people with environment, and 23mm easy to use in narrow space.
Nice, how much it cost you? Which seller u got it from? Not really good with using a 16mm. Are u going to use it mostly for landscape? Or environmental portrait? sorry for all the questions..i usually just like the 16mm on a zoom like 16-50..and use it occassionally for large group shots...for landscape, i would rather go for 12mm sammy..
trade in 16mm F2.8 bought 4 months ago @ RM 1000 16mm F1.4 RM 2980 japan import set , usual price RM 35xx Deal at KLDSLR
