Let me guess, 2 flashes used in the last photo. One in front of the model. Judging from the catch light in her eyes, the flash was placed quite low? What kind of light modifier you're using? And the second flash behind her with CTO gel without any light modifier( because it looks a bit harsh). Did I miss anything? hmm.gif

Hmm....interesting......If you were using only reflector at the front, how come it didn't cast the warmth from the CTO on your model's face and body? hmm.gif . If you customized the WB to counter the warm cast on your subject, how do you still manage to have the artificial golden hour look at the model's back? Unless you corrected the color temperature of your subject face and body using PS in post ? blink.gif

Hope you don't mind me asking all the questions......sifu... sweat.gif icon_question.gif

because if i use day light or 5600k white balance, i can't get this golden hour.

Always had thoughts of finally moving into the Fujifilm interchangeable system after having a great experience with the Fuji X70 which I have been using for the past 1 year already.

My main interchangeable system is the Sony A6000 and several lenses which I have been using since 4 years ago.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

The MAIN reason why I'm highly likely moving to Fuji is because of the amazing colour reproduction. Yes, what you heard on the internet is true.
The colour reproduction is pretty damn good and like they say, the colours POP! This is true for both RAW and JPEG files.

I could try to replicate Fuji colours on my Sony by post processing but it would take too much time. Shooting with the Fuji enables me to spend less time on the post processing stage (although I still do spend a lot of time on selected few shots which I think can be added to my portfolio). For trip to Singapore, shooting with the Fuji X70, I did not even have to edit the RAW files as it was already damn good.
_______________________________________________________________________________

I'm not looking into getting something expensive to "step into" the Fuji ecosystem. Looking for something affordable that works but I might always upgrade to a better body later on (I'm hoping the XT4 comes with IBIS). I am primarily a travel and landscape photographer but I do also take portraits of my SO.

Some pictures I've taken with the A6000
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

I am looking at the Fujifilm XT20 (used unit) which goes for RM2,400 and a Fuji 10-24 f/4 (used unit) which goes for RM3,000. Might add the Fuji 16 f/1.4 later on.

I know about the XT2 which cost around RM3,300 (used unit) but the advantages over the XT20 like weather sealing, faster/better AF (?) and other features doesn't really benefit my style of photography so far and not to mention the XT-2 is 32% heavier as well. And oh, the X-T30 could be announced anytime early next year.. confused.gif

Appreciate any input here notworthy.gif

I'm also a former Sony a6000 user, I switched to Fuji XT20 after September (I was hoping sony would release a6700/a7000 with a better color science). I've switched pretty much on the same reason as you, I just couldn't stand the Sony color science anymore. I was also looking into a used XT20, but after much consideration, I went with a brand new one. Reasons:

1. The cheapest option I can find on kldslr at that point was also around RM2400. IF you think about it, RM2400 is not that cheap compared to a brand new one. A brand new one cost RM3099 (latest price on shopee as of 2nd Jan 2019), which is about RM700 different only.

2. Brand new one comes with a kit lens 16-50, which you can sell for RM400-500. That can off set the price different of the brand new one against the used one.

3. Brand new one comes with one extra battery which cost around RM200. Again, can off set price different. I don't know about you, but for mirrorless camera, extra batteries is a must. I got 4 of them by the way.

4. 1 year warranty and memory card. If you buy used one from kldslr, those bodies they sell, do not even come with a battery, which was quite disappointing.

Coming back to topic of XT2/3 series camera, other than those features you've mentioned above, I've find that with their bigger body, they are better match with bigger lenses compared to the tiny body of XT20. So, yeah, buy what suit you the most. And I would suggest you buy those existing camera, be it XT2 or XT20, and don't wait for the XT30. New releases always comes with a premium and sometime, bugs. Why pay more and be the guinea pig at the same time?

By the way updates for X-T3 users:

Fujifilm X-T3 Firmware 2.10 Released

Fujifilm X-T3 firmware version 2.10 has just been released. You can download it here.

1. Recording over 4GB movie file as one file Movie files are no longer split when the file reaches 4GB file size. The file is recorded as one file providing an SD memory card greater than 32GB is used (excludes 32GB) (*1).
*1:By using SD memory cards less than or equal to 32GB, movie recording will continue without interruption when the file size reaches 4GB, however subsequent footage will be recorded to a separate file.
Note:Format SD memory cards before first use, and be sure to reformat all memory cards after using them in a computer or other device.

2. Fix of slight defects.

Rumor has it that a major Fujifilm X-T3 firmware update will be released this spring.

Been thinking of getting the XT20 for a while now and was looking forward to the day XT30 would be released so the price of the former will go down! Any idea how much lower the XT20 can get with the 18-55 kit lens? Currently the cheapest I've seen is RM3,700-ish...  icon_rolleyes.gif

Great plan! Usually that is what I would do. I actually waited sony released the a6300 before i bought the already heavily discounted a6000 back in 2016. But i couldnt hold my gun and jumped ship from sony a6000 to xt20 when sony failed to announce the highly anticipated a6700/7000 last september during the photokina show. Having said that, I am glad I did as I would had missed taking all the nice shots when I travelled to Japan last nov.

Current price should be around that range I guess.

But for those who wanted XH-1 with Battery grip, YL is having a great deal now.

Brand new or used? Because I can't seems to find used XH1 on YL. But STchua is selling one for 4.5K with grip.

It seems the price drops like waterfall, what happened? Low demand, our currency strengthens? Not that I know of our currency becomes better.

I'm also wondering the same. I thought XT3 price would stay at the range of 6K for at least 9 months or so, now less than half a year price already came down to RM50XX.

Both old tech (compared to XT3), if you gonna go for old tech, atleast something the new kid on the block cannot offer. My vote goes to XH1 for the ibis.

Compare with x-t3 ,xh-1 is cheaper ,have IBIS but heavier and more bulk and slightly worse AF. So how arr?
ACTUALLY , how good is Fuji much admired color science? Is it facts or myth or just merely overhyped.

If you can get huge saving from going to the XT2 route, then go ahead. If they price similar, I suggest you go for XT30 for smaller and lighter body (which allowed me to bring XT20 everywhere I go in my bag), touch enabled screen and faster AF. The only advantage I see of XT2 over XT30 is the 2 way tilt screen. The weather sealing is not such a big deal if you're a casual shooter. I'm pretty sure the XT30 can take some light shower without any hiccup as I did with my XT20 before..

XT20 is good enough. If you wanna get a kit lens, I suggest the 1855. It is true that the XC lens such as 16-50 or 1545 can be very good optically, but build quality wise, the 1855 is better. And you get the F2.8 at the widest end.

tbh i dont really like to use 1855 during low light despite the f2.8
i brought both fuji and canon system to hokkaido last year and all my night shots using the 1855 was pretty meh but my canon/tamron still kick ass despite 10 years of age. 35mm f2 on the other hand is fine.

F2.8 in general is not really that fantastic for low light situation. What canon camera and tamron lens you are using? Isnt 35mm a bit tide for narrow japanese street? hmm.gif

I found a lot of good photos and reviews about 35mm, at first I find it too long for our Fujis but it seems not too bad. I'm thinking to grab one to try out and if I don't like it then sell it off. Torn between f/1.4 or f/2, heart leans towards f/1.4. Any thoughts for street photography and travel portrait?

Current primes: 18mm f/2 and 23mm f/1.4
Other lenses: 10-24mm and 50-230mm
*
I'm quite surprised that you don't have the 35mm (Somehow I have the impression you do..). It's my first fuji lens when I switched from Sony. I used to think that fuji asking too much for this lens compared to what sigma 30mm f1.4 of the e mount. But after few months, I starting to see what Zack arias called it "Magic" property of this lens. It is hard to explain, but the rendering of this lens is very pleasing at certain instances, Which I don't see when I was using Sigma 30F14 with the Sony system. The sigma was very very sharp, but very clinical and lack character that of XF 35F14.

Now, if Sigma decided to offer the 30mm f1.4 as the same pricing of the e mount version, and if I get to choose again, I'll still happily pay for this XF 35mm f1.4 fujinon lens. IF you're already used to 23mm f1.4, I think F2 might not satisfy you anymore, just saying. smile.gif On top of that, with the new AF system of your mighty XT3, I think the AF speed of this 35F14 would be not much slower than the F2 version. If you can afford it, I will want to sway you to the F1.4 version, you won't regret it.

Fuji 35mm f1.4 :: There are lenses that I love and then there are lenses that have magic inside of them. This is one of three lenses I’ve owned in my life that I feel have that magical quality. Those lenses are the Nikon 105mm f2 DC, the Panasonic Leica 42.5 f1.2 for M4/3 cameras, and this Fuji 35mm 1.4. I. Love. This. Lens. The photo above is pretty much the moment I fell in love with this lens. The color. The feel. The angle of view. I love everything about this lens. It’s a bit slow on focusing as this was one of the first X lenses. I think it’s time for Fuji to update this lens but I don’t want the image quality or character to change. This lens does have character.

If you are getting into the Fuji X series this is a must have lens. IMHO.

Yeah, I don't have 35mm because I found it long and maybe too tight for me, that's the reason I was hesitating but yes it's really difficult to convince me for another lens after getting spoiled by 23mm f/1.4.
*
Horses for courses. If you like to do portraits, 35mm is the best compromises between subject separation and flexibility and very doable in indoor settings as compared to the 56mm. I do agreed 23mm is a much more flexible compared to the 35mm (especially when it comes to group photos) but I often find it doesn't offer enough subject and background separation.
