Anyone here uses drybox? You guys is DIY or buy brands like AIPO? I am actually thinking to get one for my stuffs.
*
If you don't have a lot of gears and you use it often, i do not think you need a dry box. However, if you have a lot of gear and maybe some of them sit on the shelf for a long period of time, then yea, i'd probably get a dry box due to humidity in Malaysia. That being said, i have never used a dry box.

I ever purchased the viltrox speedbooster AF to combo the Canon 85mm f1.8 so I can skipped the Fuji XF56. The AF is quite decent, but the sharpness is unacceptable at wide opened. The combo cost around half (got the canon 85 used at RM900) of Fuji 56 f1.2 despite giving similar DOF and light gathering capability. I only had the combo for 1 week then sold it to top up for the real deal (XF56 f1.2).

p/s: oh yeah, the viltrox speedbooster will give u the swirley bokeh at wide opened. So, if you don't worry too much about sharpness at 100% view, I think it is not a bad investment. Hope this help.
*
gotcha thanks for that. I think i'll be passing on the 50mm f1.2L set up then lol

hi all, I've screen through the chat room for information related to Viltrox 23mm f/1.4 aside the CA, is the overall image sharpness ok? from a user point of view, i don't use it for job or anything, just a casual shooter, looking at using it for super Dim environment such as shooting in candle lit condition.
*
Had no problems with the sharpness. Sharpness was very good. Keep in mind besides CA, vignetting is very strong. It can be corrected, but when you do, you of course lose some detail there at the extreme corners

Hi, I'll like to get some flashes, with some lightbox, to shoot my family portraits (baby, wife n me). Can someone recommend me a set up that wont cost me a fortune? Just casual shooter. Btw im only using x100F

Is this set up ok: two Godox TT350F with a X1T(f) trigger? 2 lightbox/ or umbrella?

Master tolong share some advice. Thanks!
*
erm, thats a lot of equipment for personal family portraits. Why not utilise natural light? use appropriate location? I am a strong advocate of natural light and never use flash. No matter how well you diffuse and bounce, you're gonna get that "editorial" look

let say if i use custom 'film simulation', how can i not use this, when i select the film simulation that already come with the camera? i notice if i use my custom setting, i cant make it 'neutral' again, if i am using the any built-in film simulation.
*
If i understand you correctly, you set a custom film sim with a lot of customisation, eg WB shadows highlights etc. Now you want it back to normal. What you need to do is to set up a Custom setting that is "neutral" or back to normal.

EG C1 = custom film sim
C2 = Basic classic chrome

that way when in C2, you can change film sim in camera and everything else is "neutral"

Keep in mind that XT3 and below does not have custom WB for each C1, C2. That means if u WB shift on auto WB, for C1, when going into C2 to make it neutral, u MUST go back to the menu and revert WB shift to neutral. XT4, X100v and Xpro 3 (dont know about XS10) are the only cameras that can set custom WB shift for each C1, C2, C3

QUOTE(HaN18 @ Oct 27 2020, 10:48 AM)
Hi guys, I'm thinking to sell/trade in my current XT2 for the latest XS10. I dont take professional/studio/event picture, my purpose mostly is for my kid and vacation use which is currently not gonna use thanks to covid.

My current set up is XT2 with XF1655 WR lens and they are heavy as fark but they take beautify picture and I dont hardly edit much so I dont shoot RAW. My holiday location normally is in somewhere cold and I want to travel light, due to the weight and bulklyness of current set up, I brought to Japan for 2 weeks and Europe for 28 days. My shoulder are quite sore after end of the day.

Should I change my system to XS10 + XF23MM WR, stick with XF1655 or keep both.

My aim are light weight setup, fast auto focus. FUJIFILM

Btw XS10 doesn't have WR right and how mucb is the market price for used XT2?
*
if u need the zoom, why not go for the 18-55? Sure, its not as fast as f2.8 but bokeh is often a crutch to actual good composition. Look at good photos of yore. They weren't great photos because of good bokeh. They were good photos because they were well composed. I say keep your XT2 which is a great camera, and get an 18-55 and see how that treats u

I tested an XT200 and damn i actually love this entry level camera. That screen can be hidden to get that xpro-ish feel where you don't chimp. A left customisable dial so u can make it like the xt in terms of dials. Better grip. Will see how it goes but so far not too bad

QUOTE(benblitz @ Nov 3 2020, 09:03 PM)
Thinking of switching system from my current M50 which was my first ever proper camera. Currently have these lenses:

Canon 15-45mm kit lens
Canon 22mm f2.0
Sigma 16mm f1.4
Sigma 30mm f1.4
Sigma 56mm f1.4

Main reason to switch:

1. I shoot occasional paid gig, but mostly is for family/personal use, i value great SOOC jpeg without much or any editing at all
2. Good native lens support of the X mount, i see alot of professional XF series of lenses from Fuji, should i ever want to go pro the options are there for me
3. The top of the line and entry level ilc share the same mount, so i can get a cheap body now, invest in lenses and get a better body later
4. M50 low light capabilities are not good beyond 1600 ISO, and the DR are not that good also
5. As you all might know, EF-M mount arent exactly doing that great with almost little to none attention given by Canon, the rumored "high end" apsc turns out to be a firmware update. Plus, theres a CR3 rumors that an apsc rf mount camera is in the works
6. I work mostly on portrait, now im looking for a 35mm eq. of 135mm lens which X mount have a few options
With all these points, which model would you recommend, the X-T30 or the X-T3? I was thinking to go for the X-T30 first and build up my lenses from there as i did with the EF-M then get a better body later, but I read reviews the X-T30 low kight capabilities aren't too good?
*
XT30 and XT3 are basically the same camera in a different body. I have shot XT3 and XT30 at ISO 6400 with no issues. Yes there is some noise, but the noise is not super unpleasant compared to sony which seems to have fairly heavy color noise. I would say the noise from the XT series is more like film grain. I say you have a fairly great set up there, and if you don't need to change now, well, then you don't need to.

I have moved away from Fuji a few times but keep coming back due to the Fuji JPEG colours. They are an amazing starting point even if you want to bring it to light room to enhance. Yes they aren't raw files, but I find with the film sims, I have enough latitude to make minor adjustments.

My advice would be to get a used camera. Get an XT3 or XT30 used whichever is cheaper (in the US, i can find XT3 used cheaper than XT30 used). If you want to feel a totally new experience try the XT3 due to its many dials.

Just be aware, for JPEG, the 1st and 2nd gen lines have the same white balance profiles, while the 3rd and 4th are more similar. The XT3 and XT30 are 3rd gens you could say. Something to be aware of if you decide to mix and match diff gen cameras.

Just bought myself a fujifilm xf10 for rm1000 equivalent used, which comes with 3 batteries and filter adapter with 1/4 black promist! Loving the small size and a great complement for my xt4 and xt3. I dont think it deserves as much hate as it gets

How are you going to use that many cameras? laugh.gif

Even now I'm also struggling with X-T3 and iPhone 12 Pro Max, plus not travelling anywhere so camera is forever in drybox. blush.gif

I use the xt 3 and xt 4 with 23mm f1.4 and 35mm f1.4 for paid shoots.

When travel for vacay, its gonna be the Xt4, 35mm f1.4 and 14mm f2.8. That fully articulating screen is great for selfie.

When I don't intend to carry a bag, and just going out for a walk with my coat, i plan to use the XF10 lol.

I still have more film cameras to play with >.< I have the large format Polaroid 110 instant camera (using instax wide). Been planning to use it for more artistic shots. But I am on hold on that due to the weather. Also commissioning someone to create help me mod the Fuji Instax Wide to accept my Mamiya Universal Press 100mm f2.8. When mounted, shooting large format instant film (instax wide), its equivalent to full frame 37mm f1.0

to be fair i got a lot of these gears cheap via trade in and another trade in and another. even made some profits in the buying and selling used market. so i can afford to hold. my xt3 i got it at around 500usd. depreciation not much of a factor. xt4 i got it a little pricey, at 1400usd. i am looking to trade this in potentially with the new xe4 though before any further depreciation, since the new xe4 has a selfie screen. but still deciding because am worried about 1 sd card slot.

the 14mm f2.8 i got it essentially free... and the other lenses not worried cuz lenses dont depreciate like bodies. the xf10 i got for 250, i can sell for 300-350. bodies once u can get at the 300 range, dont depreciate any more so you are quite safe.

For my travels I try to carry only 2 lenses, the 14mm f2.8 and 35mm f1.4.

I then leverage the sports finder mode.

So while I only carry 2 lenses, I get the following:

14mm f2.8 @ 26mp (for selfie)
18mm @ 20mp (for indoor shots, by cropping the extreme corners out u reduce distortion)
35mm f1.4 @ 26mp
44mm @ 20mp

Got rid of my 18mm f2 due to this
