The 35 lens is an acquired taste for some people, its the same for other focal length lens
If you find that focal length is suited for u then its the right one to pick. For me, after been using 50mm equivalent for some time, the view most of the time not wide enough for walk around lens  .
If I were to get three lens combo, it will be either 14 + 23 + 56 or 16 + 35 + 90. Because I already own the 23mm, I find that buying the 10-24 would be wasted. Once I relied on zoom lens, its hard to go back to changing lenses  that are within the focal length (**This is true when I go for holiday trip, but if u r using the camera for work, it wont matter which lens it is. You will change to any lens that suits the situation  ) . But hey its your choice, different people used different technique

Yes, buy from direct dealers from Fujifilm Malaysia such as myself and Mr. Ozzy. That way you get peace of mind. 

Joke aside, there's no way for you to check as Fujifilm Malaysia does not print warranty cards to specify it. So, you know.. I know.. everybody know
