morning guys, got another quick question.

should we turn off the laptop when we're not using it overnight or can i afford to leave it on sleep mode?

twice on occasion mt s5 would be hot the next morning and drained of it's battery.

thanks

Hi Jslut,

We recommend Hibernate instead of sleep.

Did you enable discrete graphics when you sleep you S5?

Hi jslut, you can refer to useful information here: http://www.diffen.com/difference/Hibernate_vs_Sleep

There are two ways:

1. Press F2 upon boot up, it's in advanced chipset control.
2. Access "Control Center" in windows environment, it's in bottom right hand corner.

You need to enable discrete graphics to enable Gsync.

sorry, i'm out of my depth. It's been awhile since i've really used windows.

i haven't accessed BIOS so i doubt i turned it on. and in the control panel, it's selected on "MSHybrid"

and when you say discrete graphic, you mean the GTX?

thanks

Hi Js,

Yes discrete graphics means you force using Nvidia GTX GPU all the time.

Recently we receive a lot of enquiries about the differences between Q5 and Q5 Evo because both models come with similar specifications. We would say the biggest difference is the thermal management system.

Q5 (N850HJ, N850HK1): Slimmer and lighter body. Supports up to 3 external displays. Come with fingerprint reader. Runs a lot hotter than Q5 Evo in gaming.

Q5 Evo: Solid build quality and aluminum back cover. Can only support 1 external display. Come with 2x M.2 PCIe slots. About 20 to 25 degree Celsius lower in gaming compared to Q5.

Conclusion: If portability is important to you and you only play games occasionally, the Q5 is more suitable to your needs. If you don't mind the extra 300 grams and you play games heavily, Q5 Evo is a better choice.

Hi miong93,

The Z5 now comes with GTX1060 6GB GDDR5, that's a huge jump from the first gen Z5 with GTX860M.

Hi there,

I'm an university student from Vietnam. Recently, I am looking to purchase a new laptop, and the ILLEGEAR Q5 series seem like a good deal to me. However, I am not sure about the quality of the product since there are no reviews on the internet.

So I would like to ask how the laptop handle heat? I am not a hardcore gamer I just play game about 2 hours a day. Furthermore, how long the battery last if i'm just surfing the web?

Another thing is that, when I order the laptop to ship to Vietnam, do I have to pay any extra expenses or the price is the same in the web.

I noticed that ILLEGEAR provide custom painting service, so can I remove the logo of the laptop in the back?. No offense but that logo is not my taste.

Sorry for the long ass post since my budget is very tight and I have to consider a lot of things. Thank you, I really appreciate your help

Hi Jubo1507,

Regarding your inquiries about the Q5, the build is quite sleek & slim at just 2.2kg in weight. Supports up to 3 external displays & comes with fingerprint reader too. However, it runs a lot hotter than its brother, Q5 Evo in gaming. If portability is important to you and you only play games occasionally, the Q5 is more suitable to your needs. If you don't mind the extra 300 grams and you play games heavily, Q5 Evo is a better choice. Battery for the Q5 is about 4 - 4.5 hours on normal usage, but then the definition of "normal usage" does vary greatly between users, so YMMV.

The price for the Q5 is already inclusive of shipping, even for shipping to Vietnam, so no worries about the additional shipping cost.

Regarding the logo removal service, I will have to get back to you regarding its possibility.

No worries, we welcome all sorts of inquiries laugh.gif have a great weekend ahead!

Hello Azim, got a question.

It seems my USB port on the right side of my S5 intermittently does not charge my device.

Is there an ON/OFF function for it or something?

Thanks

Hello jslut,

To utilize the smart charging feature, it is better to use the USB port on the left side instead smile.gif

Hi Azim, I notice there's a sim card slot when I remove the battery pack from my Q5. Does it function or is it just a dummy slot?

Hi JCogent,

The slot is useless at the moment because we are not using 3G/4G internal Wireless adapter.
