Just wanna share my experience. I went to the Illegear office today with the intention of inspecting the demo units for S-series. I'm surprised how nice their customer service is! biggrin.gif Very friendly and they do really seem to be passionate about gaming stuff. thumbup.gif I was even offered special promo and thus, I put my order for a s7 skylake gtx1060. rclxms.gif

So far my impression is very good! Really satisfied with their service. This will be my fourth gaming laptop so far and I have to say Illegear service is among the best I ever experienced. smile.gif Planning to do a mini review for s7 here once I got the laptop.

We have conducted a simple browsing test and the battery life of Q5 Evo is about the same as S5 (with optimus enabled).

Q5 Evo doesn't have fingerprint sensor like the Q5.
Q5 Evo is more towards gaming with better internal thermal management, Q5 on the other hand comes with fingerprint sensor and capability to extend 3 external displays.

Hi, I'm currently using 3+ year-old MSI GS70 and looking for potential replacement. I like the lightweight of my GS70 yet with sufficient capability to run games. What is the recommended model offerred by Illegear? I'm looking for laptop with the following criteria:
1) Lightweight
2) Able to run latest games with high settings (no need for highest or ultra, though). I plays a lot of Football Manager, SimCity like games, RPG/RTS games such as Diablo III and Starcraft II, occassionally FPS games like Crysis 3.
3) Good screen quality, preferrably IPS and sound system as I'm watching a lot of videos on the laptop
4) Better cooling capability than my GS70. I have experienced battery failure and display failure attributed to high temperature.

Hi Cimo

I would recommend Q7 (with GTX1050 and GTX1050Ti, able to play the games you mentioned in ultra settings smoothly)

http://store.illegear.com/q-series/107-illegear-q7.html

and S7 (with GTX1060 and GTX1070, able to play AAA games in ultra settings smoothly)

http://store.illegear.com/s-series/114-illegear-s7.html

You can also visit us at http://illegear.com/getting-here to check out both models.

Thanks Prince J for your prompt response. S7's spec looks interesting, but a tad heavier than my current notebook. Any plan to introduce new model with more lighter and smaller footprint?

You can also consider S5 http://store.illegear.com/s-series/113-illegear-s5.html (2.5KG).

Please note GTX1060 and GTX1070 are high end desktop class GPU, they require enough space to store the thermal cooling materials for heat dissipation. If the laptop is made too thin, it may suffers from throttling and overheating.

You can also consider Q7 which is a lot lighter and thinner.

Hi Jimmy,

Regarding your feedback, one dead pixel is actually quite normal in most modern LCD displays. It does not fall under the warranty but we do provide an insurance option to guarantee your laptop is free from dead/lit pixels within the first 6 months of purchase. As per checking, you order did not include the "no dead/lit pixel insurance" premium option for your laptop. ILLEGEAR do use Grade A LCD display from top-tier manufacturer in overseas, but even by that; there is still a chance for one less visible dead or lit pixel to appear on the display.

Different computer vendors have different dead pixel policies. For example, some vendors replace the screen only when there are at least 3 visible dead/lit pixels appearing on the center of your screen.

For ILLEGEAR, we do provide the "ILLEGEAR Display Quality Standards" to guarantee your screen has less than 3 lit pixels, 3 dead pixels or 3 lit and dead pixels in total. In choosing dead pixel insurance option, we will ensure that your screen is FREE from ANY dead pixel or partially-lit pixels within 180 days of purchasing.

We hope you understand this situation and we are very sorry for the inconvenience.
