hi. curious to ask;

for P150SM-A (RS-15, discontinued). How much would you charge for a brand new GTX1070 ? (i don't think a GTX1080 can fit in there)
do I have to trade in my old card? (980M)
*
Hi hyperyouth,

We don't think it's possible, the card itself cannot fit into the RS series as they are larger than the GTX980M.

It should be fine to keep the laptop fully charged. Technically Li-ion batteries do not have the problem of overcharging and modern batteries have chips built in them to stop charging once it reaches a certain threshold.

That said, based on my experience with Li-ion battery power laptops like Lenovo Y50-70, T410 to T460 series, I do notice a pretty bad level of degradation of the batteries when they are left plugged in. For those said laptops, the default charge level starts at 97 and stops at 100. Batteries, no matter how little you use them will always discharge a little bit. What I've noticed with them is that after 1 year (usually when the warranty ends) the batteries have already gone bad and can hold less than half their capacity.

My Y50 was capped to stop charging at 60 and start charging at 50. I do the same to my work laptop, a T440 which is approaching its third birthday. What I've noticed is that their battery wear is only around 3% after 2-3 years of constantly plugged in.

If you're worried, there is a BIOS setting in the Illegear laptop that allows Flexicharge, which caps the charge at a fixed percentage. Mine is set to start at 50 and stop at 60. Call me old fashioned but experience has taught me to not take it for granted.

It's just a BIOS setting.

When you power on or reboot your laptop, press and hold F2 on the keyboard to load in to the BIOS.

In the BIOS, go to Advance Chipset Management > Flexicharge.

Enable it then there will be additional options to select the start charge level and stop charge level.

Though I can't say if all Illegear BIOS has this feature. This is my first Illegear laptop.

Prince J might be able to clarify.

U, Q and Z series don't have flexicharger at the moment.

S and D series have flexicharger.

ILLEGEAR D7X is reviewed by PC.COM and received a Platinum award (9.2/10)!

"Illegear doesn’t mess around when it comes to its high-end, high-performance gaming laptops. Weighing in at 3.9kg, the D7X is heavier than it looks but purs like a kitten the moment you turn it on. It’s insanely quick start up and shut down is due to the usage of the 256GB SSD paired with the latest Intel Core i7-6700 processor. The D7X also comes with four DDR4 RAM slots, totaling to 64GB, allowing for greater multitasking capabilities without even breaking a sweat.

Running at the core of the D7X lies the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card, the best graphics card money can buy in today’s current market. If you were ever worried about running your graphic-heavy games on the most basic or minimal settings in order for the game to run smoothly without any drop in frame rates, your worries will be diminished with the D7X. Lifelike gameplay and motion on the D7X brings about greater and truer levels of realism like never before."

Hello,

Just wanted to ask, i bought a Illegear S7, not too long ago. Just under 6 months, and looking to update from normal HDD drives into M.2 SSD.

Can this be done on own? I can just buy the M.2 SSD and open up and plug it in or not possible? I have been trying to find some video on youtube to do this, but was not able to find anything.

Thanks.

Hi Madgeiser, it's possible as long as you don't break anything it's fine.

OS migration from a drive to another is possible, but we suggest you to do that when 2 drives have identical capacity.

If capacity are different, it would be better if you backup your important data then reinstall OS into the SSD.

Hi clnvi,

You can upgrade your display to IPS/AHVA display later but you cannot upgrade it to G-sync.

Are you an existing D series owner?

Yes you can deduct RAM, HDD and SSD from the default config: http://store.illegear.com/s-series/113-illegear-s5.html
