We've all these while left the price part OPTIONAL, simply because like it or not you put price or not, the thread will be so-called "BOOSTED" through other means.

In fact you'll probably get even more "BOOST" than not putting it.

We have all sorts of funny people on the forum.

The moment you put a price - it will NEVER be the right price.

You will see response like

"great price, I'm interested - PM me" <=--- so it's same thing whether you put price or not.

The next one will be.

"best price please" <=--- yes, this one is almost guaranteed to happen. What price you put there will almost always be someone posting that.

As if there's not enough.

Supposedly you're selling X good with new unit retailling at RM 700, yours is used so you put RM 600. You will now also come by .........

"your price too high, scammer!"

OK so maybe you're generous and put set it at half, RM 350.

"your price too low, scammer!"

Yes it happens, and it will still happen.

Then there are the other type of replies

"X person sell lower than you", "I got mine from X place at $$$".

-------------

So as you can see, the argument of "boost thread" is actually moot here. biggrin.gif

You must understand that while you guys want convenience as buyer, sellers also put "PM me" because they use it as a means to filter "play play only" type of people, really serious buyers will contact them.

To me, a few clicks doesn't kill me, and it's not like I'm doing it on daily basis. Whether the price is there or not, I will still PM the person on availability of the item.

I think we should make it compulsory to display price in garage sales.
A lot of forums have already implemented this rule like cari forum, even selling/buying apps like carousell is also enforcing this rule.

I see some sellers purposely omitted this displaying price or other particulars so that people will type in "PM me" in the reply to help boost the thread.

This is very unfair to those sellers that provided full details on the first thread vs sellers that purposely not showing couple of details like price, postage, condition etc in hoping buyers will type in "PM me" in the thread to boost their threads.

For me, if you wanted to sell something, just insert your price regardless you are selling online, selling at pasar malam, selling at supermarkets, selling at shopping malls.... all are having price tags, why cant this forum implement it? Why is it so difficult for this forum to enforce it???????

Come I clap for you.
Good suggestion.

It's kinda annoying when price is not displayed.

Some even better,

I have a question, I already make a thread in s.kopitiam but not yet receive any admin reply.

so as guided by one of the forumer, I came to this thread to ask my question.

Is "nego" allowed?

is it "RM2000 NEGO = ACTUAL SELLING PRICE" ?

If "nego" this word is allowed, then I think we all will see a lot

rm 500 nego

rm1000 , pm to nego

rm 2000 highly negotiable, offer me your price. (actually market selling price just rm1500, seller simply put price to follow the rule, but add "nego" to ask buyer offer price, what's the different compare to old time without price but "offer me" only?)

are all above examples stated considered as "ACTUAL selling price" ?

Can I report those "nego" thread?

imo u can always fish for information.
say a seller says "rm1000 nego", u surely dont expect the seller to suddenly say rm500 best price... then u already know the seller is just messing about already in the listing.
but in the end, just the seller's loss if ppl see a stupidly high price listed...some potential buyers may not even bother to proceed and ask further...and may just make fun of the seller.

and whatever it is, at least a price is still listed.
seller is also always free to go sell elsewhere, tho most likely wherever they go also it will ask for price.

yes I agree with what you said. I myself also always put the actual price for the stuff I want to sell. (I only put offer me when I selling very old stuff that I really don't know what price should I sell them off, thus offer me.)

and I always immediately close the thread when I see "offer me / pm me / highly nego", holy seller doh.gif

but I still need a confirmation, is it allowed or not. yes or no. so I can use the report button appropriately.

sure accepted.
of cos ppl expect some form of nego based on price listed... and of cos got occasional lowballs.
again its just their loss if they put a stupid price and expect ppl to nego highly.
and as depending on item...there may also be others selling similar ones...so just seek for lowest one without having to waste time.

for now better just concentrate on those without any price listed.
at least we don't have to be mind readers to know roughly what they are asking for.

the highly nego part etc, if it really becomes an issue, then let the admins decide on if should proceed further with more action.

Want to ask, i noticed in buy sell forum, some seller never disclose the pricing they r selling (new condition products) , but invite pm for best price.

With this new rules enforced, they kinda put the SRP there, but still PM for best price.

Is this consider legit under this new rules enforcement ?

It's annoying, but IMO legit.

Sometimes it's because suppliers have a minimum advertised price.

How about shitheads who replied "PM best price"?

We should weed them out too for neat and tidy thread.

Well such posts aren't breaking any forum rules.

I still don't understand why people can be so lazy to "PM best price"

If I want the product, I will PM the seller and negotiate rather than requesting the seller to PM me.
