Sadly, the Woton server is not free, otherwise, I would have updated my phone from there. If for SEUS, it takes forever to download a new firmware from there, can't SE be fair to us instead of forcing us to pay if want to be the first to get the firmware updates for our phone.

i got a question to ask, recently my friend bought a 512 M2 card and it comes with the memory stick adapter,i realise that my laptop cant use it because the adapter is way to small.. any memory card reader to recommend? thanks
*
You can try Apacer's card reader, very reliable, works fine with me, it's around RM40 and it supports 4GB MSPD & SD Card as well.

QUOTE(10071985 @ Feb 25 2007, 01:25 PM)
ohh
if jus using the loud speaker?
*
The loudspeaker is nothing to shout about, normal lah but you can definitely recognize your gf's voice if she makes a video call to you, you won't mistaken her for another girl. tongue.gif

QUOTE(Daniel89 @ Feb 25 2007, 07:12 PM)
Guys if i put a 1 GB memory to K800i will it lag or browse thing will very slow ? And which memory brand would be good for k800i ?
*
As far as I know, it doesn't lag unless if you're browing your pictures, there's a 1 second lag, not very noticeable but it's there as it takes time to read the M2. It's normal I guess. Not a serious flaw.

QUOTE(Ash @ Feb 25 2007, 07:34 PM)
why does everyone take nice pic and when i take pictures using my phone the quality looks like shit?
*
I guess you probably have shaky hands, try taking pictures in a brighter environment. For low light shots, you gotta have very steady hands to get some great shots.

Not to worry, my SE P990i comes with a Sandisk MSPD. Whether it's a Sony or Sandisk M2 or MSPD, both are identical in terms of realibility, quality and transfer speed. Sandisk is a reputable company for making high quality memory cards for digital cameras so you shouldn't worry. smile.gif

Gulp ...... I always use K800i until the battery is almost flat since last Dec till now but so far no problems. I don't carry the charger with me all the time and it's not advisable to charge the phone while drivingg as the car's electricity fluctuates. shakehead.gif

Anyway, I've not faced any problems with corrupted firmware but I believe mine should the newer batch that doesn't have this problem. I hope. sweat.gif

QUOTE(shockk @ Feb 27 2007, 06:25 AM)
try not to allow your k800i to drop to 5-10%, which is what i'm doing now.

there's just too many horror stories going around that K800i units will have corrupted firmware once the battery is flat, and it somehow will refuse to start up no matter what you do (unless you reflash your firmware). the same goes also i think for taking out your battery from your phone when the charge is low. i'm not sure if this problem is rectified in later batches of the k800i or in later firmwares, but heck.. why bother taking the risk anyway?

sayang laa...burn k800 just like. regardless whether is it real or fake, it is still k800i.

btw, by installing a lot of games on this phone, will there be any complications?
*
When you mentioned a lot of games, are 38 Java games considered a lot? I have that amount of games in my K800i, it doesn't hang or slow down, just need to scroll up and down the long list of games, troublesome but it's not that bad.

QUOTE(kInOzAwA @ Mar 1 2007, 01:22 AM)

Yeah, burn, burn, burn dat Nokia N73 ...... it's a crappy phone. My brother will be the next to second it as he owned a N73 before and sold it for W950i instead. That phone is slower than a siput babi. That's why K800i rocks. rclxm9.gif

thx for the games info. Is the games compatible on all firmwares?
As I plan to "upgrade" my firmware in the near future, if i install any games now, will the games be deleted when i reflash my phone?
*
When you're flashing a new firmware, it's best to remove your M2 card, all my games are stored on my M2 card. In that way, you have nothing to worry. Some games run better with newer firmware as they're all using Java.

QUOTE(kianwee @ Mar 1 2007, 10:21 AM)
I updated to latest firmware R1JC002 from wotanserver. Video preview no longer lags or choppy on large video file. That is all I notice.

Wow, cool but sadly ....... it's not free, need to pay for the services. Hopefully, we'll get the update soon from SEUS. drool.gif

GSM Arena reviewed this phone when it was first launched but after a few firmware updates, it's not lagging anymore, in fact it is miles better than N73. If you don't believe me, try to get these two phones and compare them yourself. I'm not being biased or anything but frankly, the lagging issue is no longer applicable now. Most sites review the phones when they're first out so the first batch of phones are normally plagues with bugs and problems. I guess you'll agree with me on that but the firmware for all phones can be upgraded and these problems can be fixed gradually. Currently, there are not much issues with K800i that you need to worry, I'm using it happily. Go and get one, you won't regret it. rclxms.gif

Cam cover is glossy so our fingers are very visible on the cover. That one I can't deny. As for the keypad, it is stiff when it is new but after using it for a few months, it will be okay. It's not that hard to press to be honest.

N73 not quite laggy, it lags like hell. My brother sold it shortly after buying it. He cursed it like mad. Ori set is not expensive as it comes with a free bluetooth and if you calculate the cost and also the warranty covered for the screen, it's worth paying more, there are loopholes for buying an AP set when it comes to warranty. Of course, it's up to you, I'm just giving you my opinion.

Just format your M2 with a card reader and reinsert it to your K800i, it will create the necessary folders.

Sounds like your M2 card might be faulty. Can you borrow another M2 card to try on your phone? Just to make sure which one is the culprit.

Well, so far, I didn't encounter any problems after a firmware upgrade. It's good to check your phone with various to determine the root cause of the problem b'coz if not, the service centre might probably ask you to leave the phone to them in order for them to check it thoroughly for you. It will be inconvenient if you don't have a spare phone.

i just played for a while la... i think very stiff...
hand will pain ornot after long usage, eg play games using joystick
*
The joystick is okay what, just nice to play the tennis game that comes with the phone. It should be stiff, if it's too loose, you might select the wrong icon, a common problem with K700i last time. The first gen SE phones had a very sensitive joystick, no longer a problem now. rclxms.gif

I thought this topic has been discussed many times already. rclxub.gif

The answer is a big yes and the sound quality is the same as HPM-70, same earphones, just with the remote and slightly more expensive. sweat.gif

The oil from our face will give our K800i a shiny and glossy look, like sending our car for waxing. tongue.gif

QUOTE(Yapmy @ Mar 3 2007, 04:48 AM)
Finger prints are the least of my worries. What really annoys me is when sometimes your face is oily after a long day of outing and when u talk on the phone the oil sticks on the screen. So hard to clean it..

Hi just bought my k800i black from dataran pahlawan melaka, AP Rm 1250 +1gb m2(Rm180) warranty for 2 years. Is it worth it?  biggrin.gif
*
Well, you shouldn't compare the prices this way b'coz like for example, handphones in Penang are more expensive than the ones sold in KL so if for my case, no matter from which shop I buy in Penang, it will still be expensive. Anyway, as long as your K800i is problem free and you're happy with it, I guess that's what matters most.

QUOTE(yOuNg$tEr @ Mar 4 2007, 10:25 AM)
by the way...is there a thread to check whether the HPM-70 is original or not?i cant seem to find it..and umm..how to check whether a HPM-70 is original or not?aanyone know?i'm planning to get one but i asked around mid valley and they are selling for RM199 but lowyat.net dealer's price oni stated as RM38-43...furthermore i'm not reli into online dealing so i was wondering whether i can ask those phone booths around shopping malls..
*
Well, the price you saw at RM199 comes with 1 year warranty from Midland. I saw the retail packing before. The HPM-70s sold here are not in retail packing, all of them come in loose pack. Whether they're real or not, that's hard to say as there are grade 'AAA' fake accessories in the market these days. Honestly, if you're willing to cough out RM199 for HPM-70s, I would advice you instead to get a third party earphone adaptor at RM15 or less, then invest in a pair of Sennheiser CX300 or Creative E630 earphones instead, the sound will be miles better than the standard HPM-70 earphones. Just my advice. brows.gif

i not sure bout the bitrate but the video should be 320x240 resolution..
*
If you're using MP4, the maximum bitrate you could go is below 650 kbps before the video starts to lag and out of sync with the audio. For WMV, the bitrate is much lower, I have forgotten about it as I don't use WMV for my videos.

any nice games on your k800i?
and where to get more games?

for macro shot, is there a maximum distance between the camera and object? is yes, approximately?

The only nice games will be MI III, SC: DA and Worms. Afraid that there are no new games lately. cry.gif
