Yeah, that was like 2 years ago when i was a newbie. Goldfries coached me at the beginning, analysed my team told me what to do and stuff, and got me well off a good start. But now diffrent , forgot everything already!!

I have a question, whats the diffrence between having foreign/local players in your team? Because in the transfer market, very little local players are available at least for my liking, price, skill. As i'm blessed with useless players i'm sacking them and bringing in some new ones to replace them and for many i see are mostly foreigners, local players are hard to come by.

In the end of the day, i will end up with half of the team being foreigners, is there a problem or a catch while doing so?

not much problem if u have funds to support them. having half the team with 20% more wage is pretty tough T.T

I'm on my way to all Local players. just need to get rid of 2 foreign players smile.gif

At lower level the 20% wage difference doesn't make too much effect. But at higher level of skills, they will. What kind of player do you want?

I suggest you train GK first, no need to invest too much money in trainee.

GK Training is always the best choice for newbie as it's with lowest investment. And of course... low investment brings low return but worry about that later la....

I have been a GK Trainer for 4 seasons and hopefully can change soon for bigger and better things.

Savings in having local players is overrated (or at least to me) in view of limited pool and choices. For most of the beginner teams, we spend more in staff than player wages so don't bother la... Do bring in only when you are quite advance or maybe doing the NS for the NT / U20 team.

Thanks for the advises, its a bit too late now to switch to GK training as i've got 3 trainees in line already, sacking and rehiring staff would be tedious.

Any other website that has guides and stuff than i can read on?

GK training is the best for newbies? So any tips on what keepers I should buy? Inadequate train to passable/solid then list? Or should I buy passable and sell when they reach solid or higher?

yup GK training good for newbie due to the start up cost is lower and the training time is shorter. you should try to buy 17 - 18 yo with atleast passable keeper, train for 2 to 3 season then sold it. make sure you have atleast passable coach.

for more info read up the newbie guide by goldfries.

I have been playing for 2 seasons, now is my 3rd season where i just being promoted to Div IV, but i think i will be relegate to Div V again this season, teams here are so good!!!! First season i was in Div IV, have 700K++ debt, goldfries gave me some advices to sell my most valuable players and also train GK, at the same time cut some cost like train youth academy, less staff etc. My 2nd season is really good, all the team in Div V is 'bot' so i win all my games and my 2 GK has now with Excellent and Formidable skill...it's time to sell them now, haha.... while i'm now with 2million++ in cash...
so, nv too late for you, i think

Added on April 19, 2007, 5:39 pmi wanna get some advices from the experts here:
I'm in a tough league this season, all teams got much more better middy than mine, so i'm prepared to be relegated next season. However, i am planning to prepare for next season, i have some money to invest, 2 million in cash and have sell 2 of my GK (excellent and formidable skill, i will train them 1 or 2 more weeks to get higher skill lvl).

So, what should i invest? midfield trainees or build a larger stadium for more crowd in future to give me more monthly income?

btw, i already has a solid coach....

Thank for any advice..

Not an expert at all, esp when I joined just a season earlier than you.

Don't rush into changing training regime as the initial cost could be quite high. If you go for cheaper but older trainees, then it will take longer time to improve your teams, which again might not be ideal.

Also, don't sell your GK trainee as yet (unless they are 20 or over now, as no point training old trainees). If they are young, 18 or 19yo, then try to train them up further till Brilliant at least so that you can fetch a better price.

And since you are preparing for relegation, then go ahead and have bigger stadium for more income in long term (but only when you are sure you can fill it).

Having said that, it's still early in the season, you can still make it if you play your game with great tactical skills. You may even consider bringing in some old players (for cost-efficient purposes) to strengthen the team and give a better fight. Even if you failed... at least you had tried and learned rather than giving up just that.

PS: Advice on having old players are quite subjective as many against it (fearing skills drop). But for me... I am happy with my old dogs... except occasional heartache when you discover primary skill drops.
