QUOTE(Jer @ Sep 25 2016, 07:28 PM) IMO, anything below 80% is not worth powering up and there is no bad moveset for a Snorlax. If you want to dominate gyms, it's all about having the highest CP mon so that you are parked at the highest position possible. A good example of this would be your 2819CP, 73% Dragonite which in most case, should be able to sit in a very high position in any gym. Sadly, that's the current meta where everybody is just placing Dragonites in gyms and ignoring the other Tier 1 and Tier 2 monsters for diversity. In the end, it all depends on your priority and resource management (candy, stardust) so good luck! QUOTE(NightHeart @ Sep 25 2016, 11:23 PM) Which to power up really depends on your playstyle & what's your objective? Whether you wanna destroy gyms for fun or defend gyms as long as possible to collect coins. Whether you play solo or in group. Thanks bro jer and night for the awesome and detail explanation. Sorry for the late reply . I was sick . Damn flu is killing me . Didn't played much lately . Separate your Pokemons into 2 team. Team Attacker & Team Defender, Attackers are used to destroy gyms while Defenders are used to park in gyms. In the Attacker team, the key is to have a variety of move types so that you can take advantage of the enemy Defender's weaknesses. Also, as mentioned before, get those "ultimate" charged move e.g. Solar Beam, Hydro Pump, Fire Blast, Thunder, Moon Blast, Hyper Beam etc. But that is also personal preference, some people may argue those "ultimate" charged moves isn't the highest DPS. I hate the charge move animation, it spoils my dodge tempo. So I prefer to have 1 powerful charge move instead of multiple weaker charged move. In the Defender team, the key is to have the highest CP possible to sit as high as possible in the gym. So that when enemy team attack, your Defender won't be the early ones to drop out. I'm referring to those level 7 to 10 gyms that can actually hold against solo players (unless the solo player is really rich in resources). Check the ranking HERE to see which are the top Pokemons in terms of CP. Not many actually; Dragonite, Snorlax, Lapras, Arcanine, Exeggutor, Vaporeon & maybe Gyarados only. So technically, your Defender Team should consist of those only if you wanna sit comfortably on top of the gym. For me, I like taking down gyms in groups & defend my level 10 gym as long as possible for ez 10 coins. Based on that kinda style, I power up my Attacker Team first. For my Attacker Team, I power up just enough to reach CP2k & that's about it. When attacking in groups, I have other players to back up my weaker attackers anyway. So I don't see the need to go up to CP3k at the moment. Now that I have a somewhat solid Attacker Team, I'm focusing to build my Defender Team. I'm only powering up those top CP Pokemons with high IV (high IV = more CP) just so that they can sit at a higher position in the gym. So, what kinda Pokemon Trainer are you? I like to destroy gym actually haha . For defending gym . My area . Those gym usually get taken down real fast . And my work time and play time is very tight , hence I usually solo . I'm still noob on taking on gym . Usually just catch catch catch . Haven't really try to power up my "attack squad" and "def squad" . By looking down at some bro comment . They are leveling up the gym using bubble strategy ? I'm noob , so if I sees a free spot on a red gym . I usually put in my highest cp mon . Dragonite or snorlax . Will it spoil other bro bubble strategy ? If yes . I apologize lol . Today try to attack a blue gym with lapras . Ice shard ice beam . 2300 cp . I was sleepy . So I use the auto choosen mon . Executor 2300 cp and 1800 cp . Both mati to that lapras @.@ . |

QUOTE IMO, anything below 80% is not worth powering up and there is no bad moveset for a Snorlax. Actually, my statement is kind of misleading. Stardust is very precious in end game especially once you have hit lvl 30 and above. If you caught any Tier 1 monsters eg. Snorlax, Lapras, Dragnonite; that has very high CP (mon lvl 27+), I believe it is worth to power it up to at least level 30.5 even though the IV is below average (50-70%). For a Snorlax, it will boost its CP range between 2.4k - 2.6k. This itself, is going to strengthen any gyms and cause a psychological deterrent for potential attackers (hold gyms longer). Likewise for a Dragonite, you can easily achieve 3k CP once it has been powered up to at least level 30. Just my 2 cents because this is exactly what I'm doing. Maybe I should spam my stardust on my dragonites lol although they are like 40-50 IVMy snorlax farm still cannot make it lol |
