My timing for HM is the worst yesterday. Thanks to all those open houses.

Any of you guys do LSD around KL area? I know that official LYNR LSD is somewhere in Puchong. In a very bad need of motivation.

Sifus. I have some question.

I stuck at pace 8'30. Always run with dragging legs. (Malas pace)

Whenever I try to go fast, I will develop a habit of, ...run and suddenly stop.

I would like to improve my timing for 10k. How to consistently run fast? AND STAY FOCUS?

Can share with me what kind of training?

Some basic tips that won't go wrong;:

1. Improve you body strength ie do plank... Start with few second and as it progress hold till 60 seconds for few sets

2. Speed run, interval , sprint
My LSD on weekend  become easier when I did speed run on weekday

That's all for now, else later hard to digest
Kekeke
*
Can u elaborate on your speed run, interval, sprint for noob like me?

For my those term look like speed workout 10x400meters hahaha.

I have no strategy at all. I just run run stop run run stop...
QUOTE(cHaRsIeWpAu^^ @ Sep 13 2016, 05:12 PM)
not a sifu but just sharing some points.
1. you have to find your comfortable pace, if your comfortable pace now is 8'30, try pace with 7'45, 7'15, 6'45 and so on.
2. stay with the pace, dont run fast and stop like what you did, be patient.

for me running long distance running with consistent speed as you have energy to run for longer distance.
*
If speed run, shorter run I can run faster la.. 3km pace 7". But I cannot sustain to 10km. Then 7"~7"45 need to run how long?

QUOTE(OcHaa @ Sep 13 2016, 05:32 PM)
8min30sec per km?
*
Yup. My comfortable pace. Average.

Just some update, I'm back to track. Get to run pace 8'00 and a little bit more need to push myself to run harder so that can get and maintain pace 7++. Thanks to interval and speed training (run like I'm flying lol)

Anyway, I was thinking to get a watch. I thought of setting myself to run a FM next year. So, I have a year to train for it.

What's on my mind:
1) Garmin VivoActive (run and sometimes I swim, ok I rarely swim )
2) you suggest
3) you suggest hahaha

I normally only rely on Nike apps on phone. So...... I only know to press Start and End. Or see the graph of my split and pace....

main reason for a watch: hp battery died when I do LSD or forgot to charge hp.

i use tomtom spark runner 2. basic gps watch with 24/7 activity tracker. battery can get around 11 hours (if turn off activity tracker and use GPS only)

but susah to sync with my phone via bluetooth.

also got SWIM mode. but i never use it so cannot say good or bad.

im also just like u, only look at my pace and distance only.

so my concern when buy watch:  battery life & can sync data via bluetooth.

u can read the review here

that's all around watch too like VivoActive HR.... hmm.gif or I should just focus on running features only? unsure.gif

Anyone with more then one active pair of running shoes?

I recently got a hoka one one clifton 3 for rm400, from a friend that runs a shoe shop, he said it's good bla bla so i just got it since he's a friend.

I still have my first running shoe,  gel nimbus 17 with 350km on it - i don't think it's even nearing the end of his life yet...

Do i
1. retire the asics
2. wear both on alternate days? Will it cause any problem? ie.leg/feet not used to the dynamics/shape of these shoes etc?

background info if it matters: started running around 3 months ago, pace according to strava is 4:50-5:10/km for the last 3 events that i joined, road2marathon/GE 12k/ score 15k.
*
Event shoes, training shoes. Some runners use other shoes during events, or depends on the terrain. If the route have more elevation, or flat surface.... like I said, according to their preference...
