those cirit salt? is it a lot of difference compared to isotonic drinks like 100 plus? those contains salt too right?
*
yeah, cheaper alternatives compared to running salt and energy drink. works for me at least

1 box baru RM20, use 2 sachets for 500ml. taste aside

Not sure about the contents bro. Just that the cirit salt works well for me. I learned about this long long time ago when I first went on a hike. I got so out of breath I almost pitam. My friend let me took a sip from his bottle containing the salt and I straight away became ok. From then on I was sold on cirit salt and have been using them in almost(as in 90%) of my training runs.

However I think the advantage of sports drink over just plain salt is, sports drinks have sugar and carbs and such. Cirit salt doesn't do anything other than replenishing electrolytes
*
yeah i take it to combat cramp during events, in terms of content as compared to iso drink not too sure. googled it for those with severe cirit, re hydration could be less effective using iso drinks sooo ORS may well provide supplement for re hydration but im not too sure whether it can replace iso drinks

Anybody else going for viper tunnel and/or spartan semenyih this weekend?

any tips on what to expect from spartan race for a mostly viper guy?
*
should be more or less the same except for the spear throw / atlas carry / inverted wall / long barbed wire crawl / bucket carry / sand bag carry / wall traverse

what time is your flag off? maybe you can join my team @ 1030 heat. I wouldnt be joining this time around tho

since it would hot this time around (especially semenyih area) prepare for dehydration. depending on the layout this year, the strategy is to conserve energy (unless you go for PB) walk rather than run. and dont forget to enjoy yourself

9.30. Ah it's ok since im bringing a few comrades as well. they don't have waterstations?

Y u not joining this time?
*
got water stations, just in case in between you need to drink

this year want to do more trail instead

if they are still doing the same layout watchout for that long walk up hill while carrying sand bag

finish my first 10k event on Iskandar Puteri Night Marathon 2018 yesterday.
Feedback from runner HM & FM,worst ever organiser. Not water at water station,no distance maker and lack of signage
*
got feedback from friends that ran the HM, multiple WS but only table no water. most of them swear not to run again if they decide to organise the event next year.

barely man. my arms/upper body is sorely lacking in training. it's pretty traumatizing. i guess it's kinda dumb doing viper and spartan back to back lol.

also kena punk'd la. say 5km only end up almost 10km. they always do lidat issit? if super & beast how many "extras" can we expect from the actual distance?

ooh ok i will have a look. thanks!
*
hahahahaha they intentionally did that

say 5km but actually its more to 10km or more
say 10km but actually its 15km or more
say 21km but close to 25km or more

last year for beast they stick to it +- 2-3km

depending on the area

i believed if 5km they cant put all obstacles evenly spaced thats why the distance

viper tunnel is the night before right? crazy la

on the topic of trail shoes, is there any issue using trail shoes on road races? will it worn the gigi faster? or maybe effect the landing a bit more?
*

Tak sama bro/sis. Dekat road kau boleh hentak pace 3-4. Dekat trail, tengok keadaan trail. Tengok technicality of trail, elevation, sempit ke, luas ke, etc.

Stamina utk road 10k tak sama dengan kehendak stamina utk trail distance yang sama. Kadang2 macam namati  laugh.gif
*
well said boss, need to deal with pacat also. rule of thumb 10km on road timing will be doubled when doing trail

There is a trail in rawang that I did for BBR 0.2 Race which is probably the best trail I've been through so far. It passes through jungles, palm plantations, yeah still got hills but most of the way quite flat and nice for running. If it wasn't because I forgot to bring my damn socks and my feets were blistering all over (was visibly crying), I would have enjoyed it very much.
*
i was there too, drawback was the trail was not clearly marked. compared my route and other runners weve got different mileage and route altogether. i guess they didnt take off previous markings hence creating confusion on which route to take especially the last 5 km.

already bought suunto ambit3 run because of the track back function.

now amazfit also have that.  bangwall.gif

but im not heavy user for all the stratos functions. looks more like a smartwatch than a dedicated sport watch. feels fragile. IMO.
Even ambit3 also pening already look at all the functions. LOL
*
having been thru multiples obstacle race / trail, can assure you that ambit 3 can withstand all the test. snapped 2 straps in the process biggrin.gif

only pain about it is sync issues with its movement app mad.gif

coming from Tomtom spark user. it is easier to use. but also got sync issue with the apps and also hard to find replacement strap.
Usually once a month only then sync.  nod.gif

how long the strap usually last? snapped because of obstacle / trail or just normal wear and tear?
*
their strap can not tahan the abuse and it cost around 150 to replace, current ones i replaced with china made straps cost around 30
