3 years is really too long because that's around 3 - 4 generations.
Look at the 900 series, just 1 generation and barely any value in them already ............. but of course this is the first time Nvidia did it like this.
Typically 960 just replaces the 870 or 760.
Now the 1060 alone can replace the 980.

Someone please get AMD to launch something better than the current 1070 soon!!
