Overclock the ram man. My kingston value ram ddr3 1600mhz overclocked to 2133mhz cl12 with 1.65v at least same speed with the basic ddr4 ram hahhah

Hahaha, my RAM dont have much room for OC, cant recall but I think cant even reach 18XXMHz sweat.gif

Can one, 2 things affects the speed: voltage and CL timings.

For voltage use 1.6 or 1.65volts (max), for CL just change it from CL9 to CL12 etc. Not sure about sandy bridge, but for skylake the speed is more important than the cl timings.

Had to search back old post on FB, mine wasnt lucky enough, as that two piece of RAM was bought separately ( forgot why sweat.gif ) if single piece can go 18XX below 1.6V but with dual channel no luck even at much higher CL value. That's why my 2500K OCed but RAM only use XMP profile one.

Budget quiet tight but I've checkout that I could get the 6gb version for 1100+ while 3gb version for 900+ , is it wise to spend a little bit more just for that extra RAM?

I've noticed that some AAA game like Arkham Knight use huge chunk of graphic card memory when turned on some details.

Most probably want to play the latest game at ultra for 1080p resolution.

I think also depend on how long you will use the new card, if 2-3 years then wise for 6GB version. Even though 3GB could handle 1080P, 6GB will allow higher AA setting and those high quality texture in many new games.
