btw, is it necessary to upgrade my ram from 8gb to 16gb?

i m using 2 x 4gb ram, so if i have to add more ram to 16gb. Can i just buy 1 stick of 8gb ram, and install it? or i have to buy 2 sticks of 4gb ram ?

Still unresolved. Latest news is that each AIB will come out with their own vBIOS that will supposedly correct the problem.

I don't think it will void warranty if it is to correct the micron vram voltage issue. Guess have to wait for further news. Anyway, I'm not too concern about that because I don't overclock nowadays. My gtx980 and i6450k all running at stock. My overclocking days are over.... already old

VRAM is micron and nope, not going to add any back-plate.

So far I briefly tried on rise of tomb raider, just cause 3, talos principles and minecraft. No problems so far. Temperature reached 68'c But have to try gaming for a longer time to be sure. GPU boost up to 1924mhz which is a surprise considering that boost supposed to be less than  1800 MHz.

Fan was silent and no coil whine. Will test some more later tonight to get a better feel of the card.

Sorry for the noob question, but how do i adjust the GEFORCE GTX led settings with the new GeForce Experience application? I tried google but no results.

Previously before the update to the application, there's a menu to adjust the GEFORCE GTX led.

Just to chime in abit here. Previously I was running on GTX 750Ti, sold off then got a RX480(don't flame ya) and about mid last month or so got my hands on a EVGA GTX 1070 FTW via Amazon.

Now being an EVGA GPU owner especially with a model with reported VRAM overheat issue is rather unfortunate. Cant qualify for their EVGA Powerlink giveaway and GOW 4 giveaway (I have to be US citizen in order to qualified).

Now as I am awaiting for their thermal pads to come so that I can install my own via Gamers Nexus video tutorial (Jayz2Cents's method and his way of doing it seems rather "cincai" though with the same outcome overall), I must say in terms of the the company's rep in responding to your query is fast and so far I must say EVGA really pushes out Bios updates rather fast, one is to solve the Micron chip issue (Yes, I lost the "silicon lottery") and the other to bump up the fan profile to compensate the VRAM overheating issue. However other than that, I can only say other forms of support is abit lackluster and I can only say it is due to their lack of presence in this country or even in this SEA region for that matter.  If you are in the States, EVGA do really spoil their customers with things such as Reverse RMA offering and their own trade-up program.

Quick question, will a i3-2100 bottleneck the GTX 1050? Not Ti version. I know it depends on what games, I will be playing older games like Skyrim, Far Cry 3, AC Brotherhood.
