The problem is, the ppl staff has no way of knowing if a card is principal or supp ....nothing indicated on the card....

Malindo had their own lounge at klia2....when they moved over to KLIA, they were supposed to also have their own lounge....but never did....

the only lounges possible are the landside lounges at klia2....and yes, if your card allows you to....

There are 3 landside properties....the original ppl gateway...the new aerotel ppl.....and the green market...

Not many banks have updated their list to include ppl Aerotel... Maybank vi can enter, but rhb not yet.... ambank no more landside access....

Ambank does not allow access on landside lounges anymore....

I tried to enter Aerotel ppl and request for just shower at gateway ppl today....and was refused....

Used to be ok....

So basically.....if you want better food, use Aerotel....if your want shower use gateway.....you want both, use 2 separate entries....

No access for ambank cards into land side lounges since August...in msia, only left 3 lounges....KLIA (+flight club), wellness spa and ppl l pier, klia2....other airports also removed....

The original gateway ppl has shower facility, and is also a transit hotel, but you need to pay extra for the rest rooms, and is expensive and not worth it....

The new Aerotel ppl has more space and better food, but no showers....

So choose based on what you need....

A boarding pass has always been required....just that the ppl group had been lax to maximize business....they will also accept a printed booking eticket if you haven't check in yet...

Whether international or otherwise depends on the policy of the respective banks....

It's a good thing to have strict enforcement, as rampant abuse will result in curtailment of privileges, to the detriment of genuine travellers.... example ambank's withdrawal of access to landside lounges....

It's significantly more expensive than Tune hotel. A single room for 3 hrs is rm235, a double is rm358....you can get a 12hr double for rm250 with Agoda sometimes, which is about the same as a 24hrs tune hotel room....

My conclusion is, better off with tune hotel....if just a few hrs during daytime, tune has their day stay rooms for much cheaper...

Alternatively, use the container....

This is obviously the landside lounges, which are the ones abused....

Airside lounges no issue about non-travellers entering....

In summary, the ambank signature cards gives you and your supplementary cardholders unlimited entries into the list of ppl.....

It's quite an extensive list worldwide....but because of abuses in the past, they removed the landside lonuges in KLIA2 and also strangely, lounges in the secondary airports of Penang, kk and Kuching....which effectively means NO domestic access completely....

Access is not dependent on airline....

And as stated several times, travelling domestically will no longer entitle you to enter ANY lounge with the ambank cards.... irrespective of which airport you use....

Not similar at all....Ambank had removed all land side lounges from their list....so you cannot use irrespective of whether you are flying international or domestic....

Some banks restrict access to international travels only, but the majority of banks do not, so you can use the lounges for any flight....

The problem was that at klia2 there are 3 outlets in the landside, and people in the past misuse the perk by using them even when not traveling....

This resulted in the banks clamping down on the use....with either restrictions on landside access or domestic access....and everybody suffers....

The banks using plaza premium stable of lounges are limited by what's in the ppl list....and they have only limited presence in PRC....

If not fly MH, then use which airlines?

Note ambank is restricted to international flights only....and the two available lounges in klia2 closes at MN.....last flew to Busan departing 2am, cannot use....

AA is fine for short haul,...2-3hrs max....not medium haul beyond 4hrs....

Why omanair?

Klia2 tgm sets are not too bad, and big portions....but not as high quality as Changi T2 tgm....

The ws is very small and crowded, and warm as the Aircon is not very effective.... simple buffet food....but you can get some simple "cooked" sets from the bar in front.... although the ones I ordered taste awful!!!.... closes at MN, so no access if you are on the very late 2am fights to pus or kix...only good point: got shower....
