QUOTE(brogress @ Jan 22 2019, 06:36 PM) Dear Sifu, Interesting....they have rebranded 2 of their lounges in HK and kul as "PPF".....will be interesting to see what's changed....will be flying out of klia in 2 weeks so will see what's different..... the klia lounge has recently been a disappointment..... crowded, weak Aircon, showers not working, scanty food....Any credit card that allows entry into Plaza Premium First? (located at Mezzanine Floor (Level 2), Satellite Terminal, KL International Airport (Near Gate C21- C27))? Looks super dope: https://www.plazapremiumfirst.com/ and http://cultureguru.nl/index.php/2018/02/19...ala-lumpur-kul/ Practically all cards with lounge privileges include the klia ppl....don't know if this will change with the rebranding.... P/s.....it appears this isn't the old ppl....but a new lounge further down the 2x pier.....I don't know of any cc which include this in their list.....I suspect this is reserved for j class passengers only, for airlines without their own lounges contracting with ppl as 3rd party lounge...... previously they have to use that market place Hoi polloi ppl.....which is a terrible experience for j passengers.... As I feared, after years of abuses, all banks are clamping down on the lounge accesses....
Rhb was good for domestic access, after the others removed....but now they join the other banks to restrict access....no more domestic travel access now, completely removed Kuching, it appears the landside klia2 lounges will now be restricted to international travels only.... although it's silent on the gateway lounge..... One entry a day per cardholder.... unclear if you can use different card to enter same day at different lounge.... Honest bonefide travellers are now punish together with abusers.... QUOTE(touristking @ Jan 29 2019, 12:24 PM) I think all cards are 1 entry per day. No....in the past, you can use a second card from same bank to bring in a friend....of enter another lounge....And some bank like Ambank, it's also 1 entry per day even if you have 2 cards, Visa and MC. So this is tightening the system.... The banks pays ppl for usage, so has to have some control over usage.... especially those with unlimited entries.... Personally, I would rather banks allow entries to all lounges, but restrict the number per year, and strictly only for travellers...the bank then knows what's maximum financial commitment they have per card....and cardholders can plan how they want to use the privilege.... |

QUOTE(yhtan @ Jan 29 2019, 05:00 PM) Bank has slash their budget and now normally reserve for premier customer of their own, if not mistaken the charge for PPL charge to bank if quite hefty, either by headcount charges or one huge lump sum per year. Not really....there isn't any significant removal of benefits for lower tier cards, and the changes, particularly removed of domestic access, applies to both "normal" cards as well as the premier cards....So premier customers are equally affected.....no exception.... |

QUOTE(eric84cool @ Jan 30 2019, 04:25 PM) It's a new lounge, so most banks have not revised their list to include it.....in any case, for domestic travellers, it's academic even if rhb accepted, as rhb has become an international travel card, like ambank....Maybank vi can enter.... |

@bearbear, the front page needs updating to reflect the numerous changes lately....
Also, it looks like lounge access for domestic travels is now restricted, so a separate list of cards that allow such access will be useful..... |

QUOTE(Micky78 @ Feb 22 2019, 11:37 AM) The range of lk lounges is the same as priority pass....it's wide but the lounges varies extremely....from very good to very bad....(just like how ppl also varies....the wellness spa at klia2 is bad)....Some are not worth spending time in....eg one in landside NRT....only coffee/tea and tidbits....no hot food no alcohol no easy chair....macam cafeteria....lol |

All the information is in the front page, just that the TS is Mia, and recent changes have not been updated....
As for use of lounges, there aren't any lounges in the domestic airside areas....but in klia2, there are 3 outlets in the landside, which potentially domestic passengers can use....however, in recent months, both ambank and rhb have removed domestic passengers from access... others like Maybank, Aeon can still use for domestic travels... The landside lounges were abused by some people...who used them when not travelling....hence the crack down by banks.... |

QUOTE(touristking @ Feb 23 2019, 11:06 AM) No, non travellers got in by just showing ic.... the lounge operators don't really care, every admission is income, charged to the bank....I can testify to this, as I have got in by purposely just showing my ic, keeping my boarding pass hidden....the boarding pass is purely to establish identify....do the IC will also do.... QUOTE(touristking @ Feb 23 2019, 11:34 AM) Now, that is abuse alright. They ask ....but if you just give IC, they also accept....But whenever I use those landside lounge, they always ask for my boarding pass. So the problem is lounge operator and travelers shouldn't be penalized The problem is cc owners who abused the privilege....and genuine travellers get penalised.... |

QUOTE(YH1234 @ Feb 23 2019, 06:02 PM) landside mean before immigration (before moving into boarding)? i only see 2, ppl n aerotel, will seek wheres the 3rd one next time. inside i saw 2, samasama n wellness spa. samasama look nice, wellness a bit old. Airside in airport usage means the restricted area where only passengers can enter....the 3rd landside "lounge" is the green market, which is a public access food outlet....you get a set meal with the cc.....if i come back from overseas, any chance i can go into anyone of this? i think no if basing on strict rule. most of the time i believe the reception/cashier will look for boarding pass, perhaps there are some that uphold the tidak apa attitude, malaysian are mostly very friendly people among the world citizen. i dun understand why the banks are so generous, what if we only use their card to enter ppl n nothing else, is this deemed abuse? or perhaps i shd say unfair. come to think of it, this is the only rare chance we can take advantage towards a bank. There is another small airside ppl in l-pier....after final security.... Because klia2 practices separation of passengers (ie arriving and departing are separated), you cannot access any of the airside lounges on arrival....but you can use the landside lounges, and you can use your used boarding pass to enter on arrival, it's allowed.... In KLIA, arrival and departure are mixed so you can access the ppl on arrival too....but means you may be late to pick up your check in luggages....no problem if you don't have check in.... As long as you are travelling, using your cc to use the lounges is fine....that's what the privilege is for....it's abuse when you use them WITHOUT travelling.... |
