Anyway, another member in here also offer his for sale. Back in 2014 when I bought mine, it was RM5k brand new.

Hi, a little help from the sifus here.

My brother is graduating in July. I want to buy him a watch to mark the occasion.

My budget is around RM4k. But I have no clue what to get.

Can somebody recommend a nice one and where to get it from?

Much appreciated.

RM4k is a decent budget for a watch, and a very nice gesture for your brother. At that range, I think there is nothing wrong with a decent, honest Seiko; great as a first watch to integrate into working society, imho. Like others have suggested, in the ballpark are also brands like Oris, Longines, Tissot, etc. More importantly, do you know if your bro appreciates timepieces? It is more important to get something that he will ultimately like and want to wear all the time. If you need to, speak to him. Good luck.

No need clear shot la. It is supposed to be a 16610LN, but the cards in that service pouch, paper bag, crown on the box, all fake. So... fake.

Chill la guise. Nothing wrong with fellow member doing a legit check- although some common sense should prevail. Price is always an indication, definitely.

Anyway, I have been contemplating getting an Apple Watch, for gym use. Ok la, don't know why just itchy. But gf says I need to clear some space before I even look at something else. Not sure I want to pay full price, so hovering around used Series 1 or Series 2, anyone with experience, please do chime in on whether this is a useful device. I definitely don't need something to read my messages without taking my phone out of pocket.

In other news, I'm told I need more arm hair to pull this off:

Luckily, it doesn't matter since my pockets can't pull off the asking price.

Logically thinking, wouldn't he doing legit check before purchasing?
It is a big ticket item, not just cap ayam Seiko (quote from someone  laugh.gif )
Well just saying.

Oh, he said "got it from a friend". I took it literally, as in his friend gave to him. Didn't occur to me that he bought it, lol.

Jason Everdying thanks guise, I knew you gents would point me in the right direction. Looks like I'm just itchy after all. Maybe it is time to clear out the gf...

On a more serious note, I'm actually working on marketing some Apple straps and want to take some pics. No watch = no pics. While the straps were an okay idea, I personally do not believe in the concept of smart watches. I know my product is the strap, but how can I see accessories for a product I do not believe in? :-(

So since I joined the gym earlier this year, I thought I'd try and convince myself that it was actually a useful product. I guess not...

If I was Batman, I could probably last a lot longer than 45 mins in the gym. My knees are too weak for my frame (lol) so I keep my cardio to the rowing machine. Only need to know my heart rate has gone up (which duh, it would after some minutes of vigorous rowing) so that I can hit the weights.

I won't lie la, I really don't see the need for a smart watch, for my use. Just itchy backside and looking for a reason. As it is, I bring my trusty DW5600 and it work enough to tell me how many seconds I've been slacking laugh.gif

Embracing the digital age. Now I have some pretty useless information, such as how much deep sleep I get, and how many times I've stood in a day.

What's the general consensus about Tudor, specifically a Tudor Pelagos?

Anything a buyer should be concerned about? biggrin.gif

Yes, everyone should be concerned that some Tudor models, such as the Black Bay and Pelagos, are now pushing close to and past the RM20k mark. Other than that, they're great watches.

I suppose many factors involved. But TT BB now past 20k iirc. Filling a void that Rolex is leaving.

Doesn't rustle my feathers. Without the BB/Pekgaos, I would never have considered the brand.

I met Jason the other day too, funny fellow... Btw, heard that the Oris CB has gone up in price; was quite surprised. I guess Bronzo is a thing nowadays.

Playing about with light the other day:

Finally saw the TT BB in person earlier tonight. Honestly, it is a little underwhelming. The gold is actually quite muted and doesn't immediately pop. I believe retail is under RM19k and possible to get it for close to RM17k after discount. At the price point, puts it close to the Pelagos destro but higher than a regular Pelagos. Also, I'm annoyed people are calling it BB S&G. Let's keep it two-tone, since it is... two tone. Nothing new here.

Anyway, I'm also told BB chrono should arrive in a few weeks, priced closer to 21k.
