I know this have been said many times before, but 6k for 7600gs is really too low. Maybe its ure OS? Crappy drivers, reg etc etc.

For my 7300gt 128mb ddr3, out of the box, it was already 10k for 3dmark03. (freshly installed windows, with very little softwares yet).

Need help deciding the following video cards. I'm not going to DIY overclocking. Anything to do with factory overclock, should be fine. My BEST budget would be less than RM500. I can stretch extra RM10-RM30. If the product is really good.

go for 7600GT better? icon_question.gif

GALAXY NVIDIA 7600GS 256MB GDDR3 128-Bit 1.2ns with Galaxy Cooler Fan + Heat Sink + RAM Sink: RM520
Memory Interface 256-bit
Fill Rate (billion texels/sec.) 4.8
Vertices/sec. (million) 500
Pixels Per Clock (peak) 12
Memory DDR3

VS

PALIT NVIDIA 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 128-Bit 1.4ns with Cooler Fan & Heat Sink: RM480
* Bus interface: PCI Express
* Memory Interface: 128 bit
* Core Clock: 560 MHz
* Memory Clock: 1.4GHz
* RAMDACs: 400 MHz
* Next-generation superscalar GPU architecture

* NVIDIA(R) SLI(tm) Ready
* NVIDIA(R) Intellisample(tm) 4.0 technology

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

As you can see from above attachment, it did not show me the score, it ask me to view my score online, but when I click on it, it will pop up a message say submission failed. So, I can see my 3D Mark 05 score. Any idea why this happen? Is it the 3D Mark 05 I have got problem?  icon_question.gif

Thanks for help.  notworthy.gif

i think i know the problem. with your score for 7600GS is too low, i guess the main culprit is your system (ASRock 775Dual-VSTA
Kingston DDR266 256MB + Kingston DDR400 256MB (running at 266MHz). i think your's is not dual channel mode some more. plus asrock is not a performance class or motherboard

mine can hit 13xxx easily with my 7600GT (AGP version)

Ya, my ram is not running dual channel as both ram is not identical. If I change to DDR2 1GB, could it help in the score? Just wondering... unsure.gif

Yes, 7600GT is better. Becoz come with higher core and mem. cock.
But actually 7600GS with DDR3 and 7600GT are using the same core type. Only diff is 7600GS DDR3 is underclock a bit compare with 7600GT. Both also hv 12 PL and 128bit, 256Mb.
If budget tight, then can try get PALIT 7600GS DDR3 256Mb 128Bit. Only sell for RM 410 or less. When u o'c it. It will become a 7600GT. laugh.gif

May i know what does this means :

Memory Interface 256-bit ?

Is this the same as the bitrate of the card as in this :

GALAXY NVIDIA 7600GS 256MB GDDR3 128-Bit 1.2ns

Its memory bandwidth.
Its more important than the memory size.
For example: If using same core type, same PL then, the card come with 128Mb, 256 bit > 256Mb, 128 bit.
I read from tom's hardware.

But is that Memory Interface 256-bit is the same as those that state 128MB 256bit?Cause the last time i ask around for the 9550, someone told me to get the 128bit version instead of the 64bit, and when i read about the instruction, it was stating MEMORY INTERFACE 128bit but the actual card was 64bit...Thats why i am confused.

Another example is the one stated by ghost321 before:

GALAXY NVIDIA 7600GS 256MB GDDR3 128-Bit 1.2ns with Galaxy Cooler Fan + Heat Sink + RAM Sink: RM520
Memory Interface 256-bit

Its stating two different bitrate...

This is the spec that i mention.Look at the bolded words and i think you will understand what i mean.I do remember last time that there is 2 different bitrate on a same card but cant really remember what difference does it make.Or maybe i remembered wrongly...

I guess the cheapest, new 256bit card on nvidia right now should be 7900GS right?around 700++?
