maxis bb is getting slow and slower ! afternoon and peak hours are so slow !

So far consistent with 20kb dl/5kb ul

I dont want to go full blast as I dont have too much stuff to download also. Prefer consistency

Gentlemen, maxis wired is having a promotion. They waive all the start up fees (eg registration, installation, deposit, what not) worth rm300. They waive 12 months of their land line phone fees (rm25/mth for 12 mths).

Promotion ends Nov 30.

Now, I am a maxis wireless broadband user. Should I change to wired? Is wired better for torrent, games (WoW, CS) or they are the same thing?

Can get 100% speed?? I hear average is 80-90%. Where is ur area? I wish to apply but my are is not covered, just can use wireless one, cant torrent (only midnite can). Sad. 
Get the news from a reseller, now is promotion period, for applying Maxis Wired broadband together with new Maxis fixed line need to pay RM75 (fixed line deposit- refundable when terminate) and RM50 (fixed line installation). Maxis waive 12mths access fee (RM25/mth). Then the broadband 512 package is RM68 (normally RM80); 1M package is RM88 (normally RM100). Did u apply both together? If yes, sure u can get the waiver of fixed line access fee RM25. Why cost RM14 for fixed line(Did u use the phone, additional charges if make calls same like TM point)? If u r not using the phone,  pls call to customer service to clarify it) For ur broadband, 512 is RM68 per month. But since ur bill is from 1/10/07 - 6/11/07 (36 days * RM68/30days then cost RM81.60).  So i dont think got hidden charges excluding de 5% service and government tax (Broadband do not hv de 5% charges). Wish u enjoy it!!  

maxis has wired connection ar?..thought they only offer wireless..btw u still need to have tm phone line first rite?

does anyone download / upload more than 3GB a month?

what would u do if Maxis suddenly terminates or suspends ur account and force u to pay the remaining months

I suppose the whole bandwidth limitation is not put to practice by Maxis. That is comforting to know but reading through this thread, I realise that the connectivity and stability of Maxis Broadband seems to be good in the beginning but slowly, it flucutates and subscribers seems to get random download and upload speed. For those who are experiencing stable connection, I guess its goodnews to you guys but on the other hand, for those are not experience what had been promised by Maxis Broadband, I hope the situation and condition will change or perhaps they will improvise their service for the better.

I'm still having mixed feeling about recommending Maxis Broadband to my aunt, who will be shifting to Pusat Bandar Puchong residential area. I know that the mentioned residential area seems to be under Maxis in terms of phone line service. Anyone who is reside there, care to share your latest experience with Maxis Broadband? Highly appreciate.

their maxis wireless connection also not that good. it was 6month back when i been subscribe to maxis wireless bb but it always get disconnection bcos of low signal  (the staff told me that my area is under maxis network). then i was quickly change to wired bb and i get average 800kbps speed. the connection is ok for me unless the the technical support really suxx. i have facing disconnection 2 times before (no dsl signal on my modem at all). i called to their customer service few times to complaint before they send my problem to the technical side. Damn, each time i encounter tis problem they need about 5working days to fix it  . is it my problem?? now always praying & hope nothing happen to my bb again.

i'm living in pusat bandar puchong so no chance for me to change to other internet provider service. 

Really dun have confident in wireless bb somemore it is streamyx. doubt about the connection stability bcos frequent playing online game, later kena banned...  . Hope that maxis will upgrade their service better & dl speed faster for every1.. 

yest tested 1Mbps at puchong fren place.. found out the DNS resolving isn't as reliable as jaring.. certain site couldn't go in at all.. anyone of u facing such problem??

the DL is fast, easily can hit up 988kbps while UP around 2xx kbps

I assume is under wired broadband also because it just says maxis broadband there Hope wired broadband doesn't have this problem. 

About the speed cap thingy, so it means if i subscribe for the 512kbs my speed will not go beyond that is it? I'm fine with that, just hope the speed can be consistent for the whole time

Oh, the DNS server so far i think should be ok for me. But psychict post's saying that we can change the DNS server. How to do that actually?

i'm taking 1Mbps package, which should be around 100kBps download.
