To know if your home is covered by maxis wired broadband search from the link below.
http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/broadband/coverage_main.asp

Added on March 17, 2010, 8:13 amafter complained maxis technical department for more than 1 month at last i got my maxus wired line done. for the time being really hate those Malay technician  mad.gif rain they say cannot come traffic jam they also say cannot come I think next time i will hear their cat die also cannot come(note: they will cancel appointment in the last minute for those reasons)...well in the end is an Indian technician who wet all his body because of raining and come to fix my line  thumbup.gif

Malaysia BOLEH! I really hope to see if Wawasan 2020 going to success with all these kind of working ethics.
*
as a fellow malay myself, i was kind of disgrace too hearing this. shakehead.gif

but then there's one day a malay engineer came to my house because my problem is isolated case. he was well-dressed and knows what he speaks too (in technical term). and he was at my home earlier than promised for about 10minutes.

i guess the difference in salary made u different too sweat.gif

I have a question.

If the modem DSL is blinking, then what is the reason? Sometimes, i reset it, it will be fine again. Is it something to do with the modem rather than the line?
*
something to do with the line for my case.

they'll change the modem at first, and if the problem still occurs they'll check the exchange.

Yup. Most of the time around 190-200kBps. Unless less seed.

But the direct DL like rapid and megaupload cant go that high anymore. Mostly 40-50kBps. Using free user.
*
seems like my torrent is capped around 100kBps daytime and during evening, up to 150kBps. at night only 200kBps hmm.gif

Hi Cloud. Actually i don't recommend that you upgrade to the latest utorrent straight away. Most good private sites like pretome actually don't allow latest versions of utorrent/and such untill they verify the client themselves. May want to refer to the site's allowed client list if available. BTW... i've got insider confirmation that UniFi/HSBB will have no capping...... maybe its time to relocate hmm.gif
*
well i dont use private sites often. so i guess it's okay smile.gif

Added on June 6, 2010, 5:19 pmbut maxis wired has no capping too. maybe the speed isn't enough for you?

When will Maxis wired come up with HSBB?
Seems to be taking forever...

Any lyn members here got any inputs?
Or any Maxis broadband employees here know anything?
*
dunno when. guess when it does, only bangsar will get it though.

still, i'm quite happy with the 2mbps already while 4mbps streamyx users screaming why the hell youtube cannot buffer fast enough. lol.

[i tested before . streamyx stronger can last longer i on my streamyx fr7am till 11pm everyday no disconnect.
last time i use maxis just last 1-2 hours have to reconnect again .
*
and how can u use maxis WIRED on a TELEKOM area?unless you shifted elsewhere.

different user has different experience.

i, for one, had no problem whatsoever with this maxis WIRED when streamyx users complaining about some rerouting done when those Alexandria and Taiwan cable is down.

and i on my modem 24/7 unless there's thunderstorm.

and i downloaded around 5GB per day (if i got something to download).

and my torrent is constant 200kBps without any tricks on using Azeurus, Deluge, Xunlei/Thunder.

and i don't have crappy customer service that i had to dial 100 each time when my SNR margin/latency suddenly gone bad.

and i don't have to wait for almost 2 weeks for a technician to come to my house in case there are problems with the cables or subscribing new line.
