Ok, latest news on Maxis HSBB... smile.gif

http://www.maxis.com.my/personal/hsbb/default.asp

Take note of this:

11. Will Maxis be implementing quota limit or fair policy usage (FUP) for HIGH SPEED INTERNET?
--> Yes quota limit will be imposed but you can opt not to be limited for a fee.
*
guess they're following Streamyx's footsteps?

Maxis can give you that speed. The question is, can you pay that price.

Maxis famous with high price.

For home user, they don't give you high speed. The max maybe 10mbps. Even that, the price can kill you.
*
luckily for RM88 nowadays get free upgrade to 2Mbps sweat.gif

Anyone knows when is Maxis starting their HSBB?

Some technicians already completed laying the cables behind my house back lane in BU 12 (Bandar Utama phase12).

When I asked them, they say the max speed is 20M.
All the cabling already completed, but the start date is up to Maxis...

Hmmm... I am very eager to know about the pricing and any cap or not?

Cause the 2M I am using now, is totally not capped...

so far nothing is in black and white.

hi all, maxis wired user here.

have a question here, does anyone experience this before where ur downstream/upstream drop randomly from 2048/512 kbps to very low value? say as low as 256/128 kbps?
*
usually when that happens, something's wrong either at the :
1. exchange
2. telephone pole outside your house
3. house line

for 1 and 2, u can call maxis to fix it (which is free), as for 3, they told me you have to call phone line contractor sweat.gif

just give them a call smile.gif

i gv them a call today, and they said will come over in a week's time to have a look.

exactly how would the house line fault be?
*
maybe you accidentally drilled the wall where the phone line resides in it? or maybe some mice chews 'em away like HuorEarfalas said? There are many possibilities smile.gif

If it is Streamyx,Jaring,Maxis or any else provider will have the same problems. Demaning customer like us just have to have a lots of faith.
Call the customer centre and wait, then wait, & wait, technician came home & wait, then he said to wait & wait again. That the typical Malaysia ISPs. What we can do? Just waitlah...
*
well atleast to me maxis is faster than any others. i called them in the morning saying that my phone line is faulty, within 4 hours they come to the back of my house, doing something to the pole. and the line is ok after that.

Don't have such problem for me.

But I can't go full speed at the moment for my server. My belkin modem will hang and need to reset when full speed. Got to take back to claim. This belkin modem suck.
*
what modem you're using? maybe it's the same as mine? F5D7634-4? wifi modem router.

Added on March 28, 2011, 3:01 pmeh, it's back at 200kBps. maxis trolling me? lol.

I think same model as you. It getting worse as the speed getting reduce in oreder not to hang. I m now set my server to 160-180kbps. even 180kbps will still hang.

I have yet got time to send back for claim.
*
oh, meaning that my speed deterioration is mostly because of the modem itself eh. hmm.gif

Did you have hang problem same as me? Try claim 1 new from belkin.

I think tomorrow I go claim 1 back. Cannot tahan the hang modem.
*
claim back oso no use. been to the belkin thread at network tech support subforum and i guess it's the hardware itself that is subpar.

best bet: sell the modem off and buy a reliable linksys modem. those aztech/tplink/dlink ones tend to hang for LAN (can't access LAN, but internet can) if it's on for more than 1 day.

I m thinking get another brand modem too. The first modem I use is aztech which don't have this problem and running full speed. But short life. Linksys is not compactible with my broadband ISP. Others I don't dare to try. If can't use no way I can return back. Unless the shop say guarantee use.

I will claim the belkin kau kau. Their office is not far from my home. So not much problem for me. Maybe they decide to give a better model to me. tongue.gif
*
good for u lor laugh.gif

btw, your broadband ISP = my broadband ISP what. lol.

ohyea, i forgot u had problems with linksys last time sweat.gif

btw, seems like there's only 2 of us here. lol.

hi guys.im from shah alam, and my living area is equipped with maxis ADSL. If i take the 1MB - Basic package (w/out modem), will the technician upgrade to 2MB? thanx
*
usually it will automatically upgrade to 2mbps though it's not stated at the website. more like *free gift* lol.

QUOTE(ozak @ Apr 1 2011, 06:18 PM)
Forget same ISP. he.. blush.gif

Maxis very less user. Or mostly happy?
*
mostly happy from what i see. and it is said that 2mbps > maxis HSBB due to the capping and price lol.
