Hm the u7 pro is roughly RM 1,305 after conversion sgd. also it doesn't mention any shipping from sg  hmm.gif

In comparison you can get a tp link BE 65 wifi mesh for the 2 pack model for RM 1,809.80 on shopee (RM969 for single pack). Their higher tier models are the BE 75 and the BE85 if you want more performance including the 10g ports, but you have to pay an extra premium on top of that.

also on shopee for the deco if you look carefully there some nice discount vouchers
u7 pro review

based on what i saw, the U7 at 6ghz was not great.
be65 (aka be63) review
https://dongknows.com/tp-link-deco-be63-wi-...-system-review/
tplink deco works well for usage and performance. they market ai roaming, but whether it's really ai or not, their roaming is pretty effective according to the reviews. but if you are privacy concerned that might be a dealbreaker. Like only way to manage it is to sign into a tplinkg account on mobile app. Compare this to ubiquiti can locally manage using a locally hosted unifi controller app without having to sign in online.
other wifi7 options like Eero, doesn't seem reliable.
Wouldn't have minded going for another ubiquiti (they have a nice UI for managing their devices) but considering availability, pricing compared to say a tplink deco mesh, it's a harder pick  sweat.gif

also later in the year tplink are also offering a poe version of the Deco BE65-PoE  hmm.gif so that will be another advantage ubiquiti loses over the deco then (assuming you use a poe switch like i do)
*
That’s cuz they don’t do delivery out of SG, at most they will only deliver within SG and the order is over $1K

Considering I’ve already bought into the Ubiquiti system, no point just mix and matching. Tho I have to say PPSK has been giving me hella issues sweat.gif

Still waiting for the software update to kinda rectify these issues

How much did you get for the UDM SE? I"m looking at Cloud gateway ultra for 1G or less internet or UDM SE for more future proof. UDM SE could powered the 2 AP but seems overkill smile.gif

Got it used locally (SG Set) for RM1990 on carousell, for yours consider just going UX I’d say is probably sufficient, or maybe UXG Max for 2.5G with CKG2+

RM1.950 ? why shopee RM1,2xx FOR 660HD

any you have found cheaper 660HD
*
Not everything in SG is cheaper than MY, most stuff is generally more exp here, I only purchase Ubi here cause I can skip the tax and I can get stuff that can’t be bought in MY

3rd party camera support, now tempted to setup whole home with ubiquiti, so I don't need another NVR but new feature should be quite buggy?
*
Don’t bother until actual release is out.

If you buy into it now, you might be buying into a long beta/RC phase until it’s actually ready for usage. Ubiquiti firmware is buggy with EA/Beta

Is the MLO available on U7 pro? Any tested it? Also anyone have issue with IOT devices?
*
MLO still in beta firmware only (7.1.x), U7 Pro/Pro Max currently have lots of issues with IoT devices but they’ve been actively pushing beta 7.0.x firmware to try and fix the issues

I currently only have 2-3 IoT device in my house so I haven’t noticed any issues, 7.1.x update is EXTREMELY buggy so don’t really recommend using it until the firmware is properly sorted out

Maybe I should just get u6 pro or enterprise.

Stay with U6 series if you have lots of IoT devices is the verdict that I’m getting from Unifi releases pages

Didn’t notice this before on iOS/iPadOS MY App Store. Are these newly named version specifically for Malaysian market in order for Ubiquiti to avoid TM’s court order?

Anyone tried yet? Same functionality as international version? No version history on App Store page, so I assume it’s quite new. Earliest review is from Nov 2024.

Tested briefly, looks similar if not the same, functionality wise seems the same as well

Probably just an app to ensure they can be listed in MY App Store without infringing on TM’s Unifi copyright

They just launched Unifi OS Server to standardize the code base.
For new installation it is better to avoid Unifi Network Application.
Knowing Ubiquiti, they will ditch their Network Application in no time.

Hm? How so?

AFAIK this is just basically a software controller (Think of UXG, UCG, CKG2 etc) that hosts Unifi application (Network only for now), eventually maybe talk and access too. Network application will still be around and not going anywhere

Long time back it's the self hosted version of the CloudKey with the exact same feature.
Then Dream Machine came along with additional features were slowly added over the years.

Throughout this whole time Network Application stays the same, or worst, depending on how your see it. The user interface refresh removes a lot of advanced settings. Then overtime some were added back, some were revamped.

In v9.3 they have totally removed the wifi analyzer and replaced it with an optimizer in site settings and channel utilization display no longer aggregate correctly in Insight.

But there's still no feature parity with Dream Machine. Now they have this self hosted Unifi OS Server that starts bringing in features from Dream Machine to self hosted.

I really don't see how a self hosted Network Application will exist long term. Eventually the Unifi Server OS will reach feature parity with Dream Machine while Network Application will slowly rot.

The new AP looks cool by the way. I love AP that's actually flat. Don't know why other manufacturer don't start making them this way.

Oh I just googled, I get what you mean now

I'm pretty sure at this point, standalone network will be deprecated and comes tied together with Unifi OS server. Which I personally don't see anything too bad with it, since Unifi OS Server also comes with like Unifi Identity and some creature comforts that normally comes with their own hardware

Most of the discussion on UI forums seems positive, just some decisions such as using EOL MongoDB version and lack of docker image as the main complain. I don't see TOO much discourse about the potential deprecation of Unifi network application

AP looks cool but software is still a bit dodgy, crippled my home network temporarily after setting it up, had to go to a EA version of the firmware for it to work decently enough. Guess that's what I get for trying to be on the cutting edge mega_shok.gif , still satisfied with local speedtest tho with 6GHz

Very much so, 6GHz and MLO is still finnicky, really do wonder if its my device or something, my P8 Pro isn't working reliably on 6GHz

From what I gathered,  6Ghz  works best within line of sight or with minimal obstructions. This is because higher frequency radio waves have a harder time penetrating walls and other objects compared to the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands.

Maybe I will stick with u6 pro for now.
*
For my experience, even a dedicated 6GHz band SSID doesn’t work, I can’t get internet access on the band sometimes, MLO works but also most of the time it’s only 2.4+5 and not 5+6

Hopefully next software update fixes the issues since I’m on EA firmware
