I'm seeding at some tracker and my UL speed suddenly return to normal(20-30kb/s) since 6pm just now. Wish it'd maintain but since early morning today even my surfing speed been unstable. Things would only be smooth when i use proxy. Please Screamyx, please...

QUOTE(bonedragon @ Jan 29 2007, 06:23 PM) weird problem..whenever my utorrent client is running, i can't browse..it'll just be loading forever. The thing is that the utorrent isn't even downloading anything. Basically my connection is 0kb/s for everything. But once i exit utorrent, then resume normal browsing. how come? hello..anyone know how come like this? Sometimes the utorrent download 2kb/s liek that but internet cannot load. |

QUOTE(bonedragon @ Feb 3 2007, 12:25 PM) hello..anyone know how come like this? Sometimes the utorrent download 2kb/s liek that but internet cannot load. my guess is certain settings in utorrent are way too high. setting big numbers do not automatically speed things up.such as 100 connections per torrent. or 1000 global connections. you also have to watch your up speed. you cannot set up speed equal to your package's max value. check this out, it'll help you adjust to a more usable situation: http://forum.utorrent.com/viewtopic.php?id=3912 and don't keep changing these values. sometimes you may need to reset your modem. after observation from 1st Feb until today, i can see the unthrottle time for my account is about 1am to 8am everyday, lets see how long it will last ....
i only seed while being throttled, since unthrottled i won't connect to local peers so i think i won't do any help to local peers, but when throttled and i can only connect to local peers, what i downloaded during unthrottled period will be useful to locals. |

Depends on what torrent i'm downloading. Bleach is around 30kbps wven with 1k+ seeds and 1k+ peers. This is not local but international trackers.

bleach, naruto, one piece n D.Gray-Man have no problem to reach 100k... but other can reach 20k-30k is usual already. If the file don't have local seeds n peers, then it will stuck at 10k speed which I think TMNut throttle the international speed to 10k =.=

Glad to see everyone is feeling better about the speed now.
Comes to show that TMNet does not simply throttle without reason and that sometimes the things some of you guys say when something goes wrong is really... well... extreme. Hope they would come up with a more permanent solution. Cheers. |

I'm in Kota Bharu and I concur with the observation that throttling time is around 1 am to morning around 8 ish. Fine by me since I'm only downloading when I'm in bed and pending job is completed by the time I wake up.

I guess they are having their next move, do you know why?
Because your monthly UL and DL is stacked, they see that you use 100GB for last month (eg.) before throttle but this month after throttle it becomes 30Gb. So, they want to know your exact amount data of usage, so they unthrottle it. Thus, they can know how much you download per month and set up a plan where charge you accordingly. Deal? |
