450 PRO is now RTF .. just waiting for suitable time only .. hehehe
wiring and all other stuff in the 450 PRO is now built up to my expectations (for a 1st timer with 450 helis) .. nice and clean look .. ESC and most wires are neatly tucked in and hidden inside the heli ... nothing outside tongue.gif

the 4G3 is now back in bizness oso .. since i have completed my 450 PRO .. i have time on my hand to really really check out everything
i have found that the soldering of the 3 wires coming out from ESC to BL motor inconsistent .. previously never checked there coz its is all stock from factory and nicely wrapped up in transparent shrink wrap
now that i have found what is the problem i temporarily taped the wires tighter to the ESC and everything is working beautifully ... hovered 3 packs this morning .. hahahahahaaa
the ON THE WAY esc + main BL + 4n1 will all be kept as spares ..

the flying time for my stock walkera BL setup with stock 12t pinion is around 6-7mins of hovering in the room
if u dont use too much cyclics to control it then get 6-7mins la .. if u are all over the place the cyclics will of coz then chew up your lipo faster lorr .. hehehe

cliff .. if u are serious on getting the 4G3 ... this is what i would do if i were u laaa
get a NEW 4g3 from unuiqeXme at rm650 .. it comes with stock main BL setup already .. next thing is u order the tail BL setup for usd35 from chinesejade .. it comes with everything u need to kowtim the tail (u are buikder so u should have no probs with it laa since stoopic fella like me oso can do it)
or for the tail if u wanna go 2.9g (which is repairable by yourself and oso more powerful) .. pay usd15 for the walkera tail esc + usd25 for the 2.9g motor .. and ask chinesejade to sell u the tail holder for the 2.9g (dunno how much prolly usd10-15) or u can use the tail holder from 4#3 (usd3.50 or u can talk to uniqueXme for sell u cheap cheap if u get the 4g3 from him) to fit in your 2.9g

overall costs of the above (and no customs disturb coz your tx already malaysia AP) still alot cheaper than usd258 for new double BL 4G3 .. u get the added benefit of flying ASAP while waiting for your BL tail to arrive ... kill the stock brushed tail motor then fit in the BL  cool2.gif

good idea or not ??

quick quick say TQ uncle ... hahahaha

QUOTE(QiW @ Jun 30 2009, 09:28 AM)
already mentioned above .. slow abit coz super long posting to help u save $$$ and have fun ASAP maa tongue.gif

the lipos u can get the 20C ones from CJ (usd4.50) ... farking cheap lipos to fly around .. hahahaha
or u can tok to uniqueXme for 10C lipos if u get tge 4g3 from him see can give kow kow discount harga runtuh or not lorr

hahahahaaaa

Added on June 30, 2009, 9:40 amone more thing forgot to mention ..
now flying the 4G3 with CF blades !! very nice and responsive ooohh .. hahahaha

Sorry ar... didn't see the edited post...
Wow, allan... you really do a lot of research..... might consider your suggestion.... notworthy.gif biggrin.gif
I'll get a power booster for USD20 + AR6100 (Can use for other bigger heli too+Cheaper), if i wanna spektrum it...
6-7mins fly time should be fine... lower than that i'll consider going into light weight 2s...

Will make my decision by this week... my wife going to jump on me if she knows... whistling.gif

after spooling up my trex .. the 4g3 sounds so tame now .. haaiizzzz
gonna up the pinion to 16t from 12t when i get my new motor .. kasi power abit ... hehehehe

Added on June 30, 2009, 10:04 am

if u go 2S then no need booster liau laa .. the servos SHOULD be able to take it since i have never read problems with the servos when 2S is ran on it
but the ESC and motor all need to change liau lorr coz those were designed for 1S
and oso currently 1S has more motor options coz the 4g3/4#3 are HOT now .. 2S powerful and nice motor quite limited ... especially for the tail part
*
The only thing getting between 1s or 2s is the fly time... will do a compare list for 2s and 1s...

QUOTE(QiW @ Jun 30 2009, 10:08 AM)
pps .. forgot ... if u use ar6100 then u have to mod all the servo plugs oso
with the ar6300 no need .. the servo plugs straight into the rx .. so u save alot of weight there alone

wife problem ?? that one sap sap sui can kowtim laa .. hahahahahaa
just give her kow kow tonite after u take the BLUE PILL .. sure she wont make any more sound about helis liau one .. hahahahahahaahaha
*
The servo plugs... megastation have it... is not a problem...
AR6100 still can use for bigger heli ma... so if next time don't want 4g3 still can use back... AR6300 tak boleh use back on bigger heli lo...
try to shorted the wire to cut weight.... what ever can dump... just make it good enough to work...

Hahaha... my wife manja manja a bit can kowtim de...
Blue pill??? with that taken lagi tak boleh kowtim.... cool.gif

CF blade most likely is balance...same as FG blade... wood blade have to balance...
But have to do blade tracking... if not the vibration will most likely affect the HH and stability...

blade tracking abit hard laa for me .. coz to track u need to be at hovering HS already
450 size hovering then have to go near and look for the 2 colours closely ... abit scary leh .. hehehehe

nvm .. i already devised a simple thing to balance the blades ... only need to go buy the thing
prob is the thing i need is normally sold in large quantities .. dunno they wanna sell 10-20pcs to me or not la ... hahahahaa
it is more accurate than the ones sold at the shops .. prolly cost less than rm10 .. tongue.gif

I have a DIY Lazy Susan which i use for blade tracking/HH Gyro setup..
But i found it... holding the heli in your arm.. and throttle up about 50% will see the difference better...
don't need to put different color... just identify 1 blade will do... (1 color on a blade only, the other 1 leave blank)
Of course if only put sticker in 1 blade... will have vibration due to unbalance blade...
But the purpose is blade tracking.. after tracking... take the sticker off and spin up again to check for tracking and vibration...

I can post some photo for your reference if you want la...

post some pics la ... this forum needs more pics anyway ... hahahaha
u hold the 450 heli in your hand at 50% throttle ?????????????
very brave person u are .. hehehe
*
As long as you stick your hand far...then shouldn't be a problem... sweat.gif
Can acctually see the blade band upwards a little as it try to lift off... rolleyes.gif
I can post the pic for lazy susan, and how i mark my blade... had taken my head apart waiting for damper to arrive..
The normal blade tracking sticker is damn hard for me to see... so i use my own...

Here is my DIY lazy susan...
Made it from car electric fan (bearing part), wood (4kg) and some GF plate...
When i turn it, it can maintain turning about 3 minutes...
And that is how i mark my blade for tracking purpose, i used blue pvc wire tape about 1inch long for better visibility..

waa ... your house must be damm big la .. so much space to put lazee susan like that and spin around ..
but very good thing to work on oso laa ... hehehehe
*
My house not big... just got many empty area ma... you know la... poor people don't have much furniture...
The black line/circle is actually the width of Trex 450 skid... so the lazy susan is about 1ft in longest length, not so big la...
At least it helps me to check on my gyro setting... hehehe...
Blade tracking i still prefer to hold by hand... can see clearly... sweat.gif

only need to adjust 1 servo arm ??
using 3 cyclics + 1 tail worr ... all oso have to adjust one worr
unless u damm lucky get the setup all nicely ngam ngam properly places liau one laaa .. .arms all happened to be at 90* with 1st time click on the horn .. hehehe

Added on July 3, 2009, 11:17 amthe logic of adjusting the arm to 90* at mid stick ...
servo movements have proved to be a slight parabolic instead of what was thought of as linear circular movement ...

so if arms are not as close as possible to 90* and u only use the TX to adjust adjust to get 90* at mid stick .. movements may and most prolly are not the same along all the 3 cyclics (most important)
therefore CCPm is not at optimum coz of differential in movement (prolly too little for eye to detect) .. but in a machine with HS of 3000rpm .. a little movement may contribute to quite some effect

thats why most will try as hard aas they can to get 90* servo arm/horn at mid stick .. to ensure movements are as correct as possible

that being said ... for beginners like me .. use tx to adjust 1 whole round oso no diff laa .. hahahahahaa .. but i have gotten my arms as close as possible to 90* at mid stick tongue.gif

Aiks.. sorry wrong term used... doh.gif
I meant linkage arm while doing blade tracking... sweat.gif

yes .. for the pro only 1 linkage can adjust .. so u cannot get tracking as good as v2
but save alot of headache for me lorr .. hahahaa
ps .. went to megashop yesterday .. only 1 more 450 pro left on the shelf

WOw... hot selling ya... that means the more coming in a cheaper price? drool.gif

i dont think u wanna fly any trex indoors la ... when u hear the speed of the blades then u know liau ... hahahahaa

trex 250 is almost the price of 450 pro liau ... add 200-300 more from the trex250 can get the 450 pro liau ... which one u choose ??
spare parts price oso almost the same ... hehehehe

u add so much weight the heli is more stable (if can get off the ground in the 1st place la) ... but flight time and mobility and speed ... everything oso cut down quite alot

Added on July 3, 2009, 2:48 pmjust in case u did not know ...
FP heli bladespeed (headspeed/HS) is much much slower than CP helis one leh ... thats why minimal damage for blades and other stuff when u crash a FP heli ... hehehehe
*
Trex 250 also quite big size wor....
Hahaha.. my wife also thinking of getting a small heli to fly... she saw me everyday repair/fly... she wonder what is so fun about..

everything seems fine liau
took it to the field .. hovering happily
1st pack .. good
2nd pack .. good
3rd pack .. throttled up .. head went KABOOM !!!!

WTF ????
was using ALIGN 325 PRO blades ... bought NEW from MRC forummer nick alan8112 ... he claims they are carbon blades
then i took back but cannot fit properly .. i say cannot fit have to return but he said opened liau cannot return .. dont open how to try and fit la ???
he told me to take out one of the plastic piece at the bottom to fit it in .. so i did

regret like shit did not use the blades that came with the heli .. i was keeping it till i can do some FF ... now farks liau
worse thing is its not my ERROR !!!

anyways .. i was just starting to lift off the ground about 1-2ft then loud sound KABOOM .. blades flew off the head .. 30ft in opposite direction .. lucky not in my direction or else i could be in the hospital liau
examined the heli ... visible immediate damage was bent main shaft .. bent flybar .. have to open up heli and have a look see if any other stuff hone case .. KNNCCB

the esc and rx relocation oso took me around 1hour ... not bad tongue.gif

total damage = main shaft + flybar .. nothing else could be seen to be malfunctioning .. i spooled up without blades and no vibrations .. all seems good for now ... tomoro will hover sommo .. hehehe
*
Wow... blade broken apart.... last time i crashed, i also bended my head casing.. without blade seems fine... but when doing blade tracking can see some vibration to the head casing.. beware ya..

Hi, everyone... it had been awhile since my last post... Seems like our big brother QiW had join the sifo club.... rclxms.gif thumbup.gif
After such a busy time... finally yesterday i got sometime to hover my 450 for 2 packs after changing the feathering shaft and main rotor housing....
I bended these 2 things during my last crash... it took me a while to found out the problem... unsure.gif sweat.gif
Seems like most of our friends here had more helis to their collection... rclxms.gif

was really annoyed already .. then finally mechanical stuff seems ok .. tried hover again .. after 2 secs batt out .. WTF ???
and i did not charge any batts standby for testing coz faced too many probs with this size 300 build .. now charging batt .. hopefully can get to hover and set gyro stuff b4 i leave laa .. hehehehe

I saw it from www.bunkyo-rc.com.. so wonder if anyone see these before...

Wow.. now going into 300 size heli.... Comply? is seems like a good heli for beginner to learn and crash....
