hello,

I am thinking of getting a Mazda 3 sedan (skyactiv 2.0). I have a few questions hope you don't mind..

1.is the current model the facelift or pre-facelift model?
2.is the new generation Mazda 3 coming out anytime soon?
3.when is the Diesel skyactiv engine coming?
4.what is the FC for mixed city/highway driving?

thanks!
*
1. current model
2. not sure, maybe end of the year launch here and next year deliver car but we didnt heard any official news yet
3. but m3 i think dont have diesel
4. i've seen people getting 6.5-7L/100km, that's about 600km per tank, me myself is 7.7-8.5L/100km since my right leg is heavy sad.gif that's about 520km+ per tank

Is there alot of difference between both?
Other than leather and the LED light? Is it worth the 14k difference?
*
with the 14k, you get 6 airbags, bi-xenon headlight, 18" rims, SEXY LED taillight, almost full range of i-activ sense features which includes:
- Adaptive front lightning system
- Smart City Brake
- Rear View monitoring
- Lane departure warning
- Auto high beam
- Reverse Camera

other useful features include:
- Auto wiper
- Auto headlight
- Pedal shift
- Cruise control

some of the features also included in GL, but i forget which one

and you get HS for 119k which is even more worth it, i get mine at 124k

not to mention m3 is also one of the most feature packed model compare to other earlier batch of skyactiv models

compare to the high spec version in other countries, we only lack of:
- Radar cruise control
- i-Eloop with active shutter grill
- sunroof

Hi guys,

Would like to check with you guys whether did you guys encounter any issue for mazda3 HS if lets say you drive at highway during highspeed like around 160km/h onwards the RVM on the passanger will light up eventhough there are no motor or car bhind which is coming.

I just tested mine at klia 2 highway and at a speed of 190km/h and the RVM keep light up like about each 10 sec once and it only lights up on my passanger side even i tried to flip my side mirror still having the same issue.

Need some advise from you guys.
*
same thing, last week when i drive from KLIA back to ipoh, cruising around 120-130km/h suddenly can see my left RVM indicator light up then turn off after a while and occur every 10s like that, i thought the sensor is detecting something that human eyes cannot see sweat.gif

i noticed that it only occur at night when driving fast and not much surrounding light, no problem when i drive back from ipoh to KL during afternoon

I nt sure is it due to lightning n it leads to the issue...but when i think bk i felt weird if its due to street light but why driver side didnt light up...haha...mayb lik wat u said...it detect something that we human cnt c....haha...need to find a day to test in de afternoon
*
i find it light up frequently when travelling on left lane or middle lane, so my assumption is the sensor might detect the light as well, not only the object? hmm.gif

just sharing with you guys, last week 3 m3 owners joined a touge session with other gang, got FD2R, swift sport, FT-86, celica and satria neo

it was a fun drive to Kuala Klawang from Cheras driving through Titi town, curvy road all the way, the road is uneven and at some part of the road the tires cant grip properly causing uneven brake force due to uneven road, even though our m3 stock suspension handled it well but it is still dangerous, at higher speed i worry that i might crash to the hill

despite FD2R being almost 2 gen behind, swift and neo having lower CC and smaller engine, they are way faster than us and quicker through the corner, but that's obvious since their driving skills is way better than me and their car is heavily modded while mine is just stock, but on straight road we can easily pull away on the lower CC NA cars tongue.gif

at some part of the road i enter the turn with the wrong speed (too fast) and the rear tires lose grip, stability control kicks in and surprisingly it doesn't aggressively correct the course of the car, but instead it let the rear slide and gently adjust the car direction according to the direction i want, it happened in split second and the DSC really did a good job there thumbup.gif

I only realise it happens at night...so far haven try on day time yet...tmr mayb try at ulu yam...hahaha...oh ya btw jus wanna check is our lane assist will beep even once we signaled? Example i put signal towards left and i jus manage to switch 1 lane to the left but after a few second i try to switch my lane to left again n my signal still remain but the lane assist warn me that i exit to left lane without but my signal is still on since i switch to the left lane at first...is that normal?
*
lane departure will activate back few second after you left the signal on

QUOTE(rockets @ Nov 11 2016, 12:47 PM)
Mazda3 is designed to be abit tail happy which is why it's such a fun car to drive. It will loose it's tail rather than understeer which is a good thing. The tail losing grip(up to a certain limit of course) can be corrected by the driver and you have a better feel where the car limit is.

FD2R/FT86 you wouldn't have a chance against these, the rest are fair game if they are stock. You getting destroyed in corners is mostly due them all being on manual tranny giving them more control, our skyactiv auto is decently fast in paddle mode but it's no where near a manual trans.
*
not only they are manual, but they also have modded suspension and other performance mod

but those car is totally different range already tongue.gif

Hi everyone, would like to ask for Mid Spec Mazda 3 does it come with Day Running Light (Halogen)? as I saw on the road Mazda 3 with the DRL (Halogen) which migh don't have. I tried to ask the SC during my service today, however they mentioned to me my model didn't equip on DRL.

Please help to advice. Thank you
*
mid spec should be hatchback, base spec doesn't come with LED DRL, only halogen DRL (yellow light)

QUOTE(brandon8921 @ Nov 12 2016, 07:51 PM)
Mazda 3 high spec (121k) or Honda Civic 1.5 TC-P (135k) or VW Jetta (133k)?
So hard to choose......
*
test drive 3 of them and choose one that you like, i personally prefer the leather on m3 compare to civic which look low quality and less luxury compare to m3

but civic got more legroom

forget about jetta, maintenance is gonna cost you more than the car value itself

Test drove 3 of them today. Jetta feels more responsive and more powerful maybe due to dsg? But interior so dull and old.
Civic also quite powerful and interior looks ok to me. Like the instrument cluster though.
Mazda 3 looks more premium and luxurious inside, at least for me. Power wise of course lose all the above but not too bad too and pretty responsive. Just the gearbox feels abit slow, maybe the feeling of  after test drove the jetta LOL
However, jetta feels more solid, can definitely feel the door harder and heavier. Mazda 3 not too far behind in this department. Civic feels more like milo tin. Too light

Read from paultan that Mazda will bring the facelift Mazda 3 next year? Should i wait?
*
no news on the facelift version in malaysia yet, it has some upgraded features like nicer steering wheel and colored HUD

DSG is the fastest shifting gearbox and also the less reliable and higher maintenance compare to others, m3 is still using torque converter with clutch, which is bloody reliable and can sustain high operation temperature compare to dsg and cvt, for a torque converter with that shifting speed i would said is already consider very fast if you compare with other torque converter

QUOTE(kluseng @ Nov 13 2016, 08:47 AM)
Next year all Mazda cars will go up in price. The facelift Mazda 3 only adds torque vectoring control to help you corner better and nothing much else. I would get it now before the price increase.

Civic X has poor built quality with lots of issues. You can compare the Civic 10th Gen thread with Mazda 3 thread. One is full of complaints the other is peaceful. You also need to visit SC more with Civic as they have decoupled oil change from 10K service so you may need to go twice.

Jetta should have plenty of discount if you wait but maintenance is a worry. It should be the most powerful of the 3 cars. Second hand value is 'meh' so it's worth considering only if you can buy it much cheaper than a Mazda 3 HS.
*
we got the "kruk-kruk" and "ngek-ngek" soud also laugh.gif

the sound seems to come back again yesterday when drive through heavy rain

Thx amduser. However my base spec Also don't have drl halogen DRL. Thx
*
then i not sure la, because i see cx-5 and m2 also got that yellow halogen drl

QUOTE(brandon8921 @ Nov 13 2016, 12:04 PM)
What is the cause of that sound in Mazda 3?
*
when pass through bump the front suspension will have "kruk kruk" sound

1st "kruk" is the spring compress when the front wheel is at the peak of the bump

2nd "kruk" is when the front wheel passed the bump and land on the road causes the spring to compress

so i assume that the "kruk" sound is caused during the spring compression

the "ngek ngek" sound is when the drive shaft or CV joint is wet and when cross the bump it will replace the "kruk kruk" sound

it wont affect the performance of the car, still can touge and speed as usual laugh.gif

This happen to CBU unit? or CKD unit? Is there anyway to solve this issue? Might book 1 before 2016 ends if nothing major issue...
*
both CKD and CBU, there is no more CBU for m3 unless you get a 2nd hand unit

battery spoil after 1-1.5 years depends on usage, and it cost at least RM500 for a good Q85 battery for the i-stop, where seaweed no need such a big battery because no i-stop

paint being too "thin" and cause a lot of stone chip as claimed by others, me myself got few stone chip on the bonnet but not at the bumper laugh.gif

QUOTE(aimeh @ Nov 14 2016, 03:53 PM)
So far after 1 year I'm here in this thread.

Ngek Ngek Kruk Kruk sound is on very high % of getting it. No perma fix as I know at the moment, I just ignore it until there are solution for it. Another common issue will be the Toyo tyre which are not really durable, % lower but quite some of the owner kena pregnant tyre, maybe some extra care needed on it. But this issue can be settle by changing them off. Beside that, still got 1 mirror tik sound on wind screen which also can be solved.

Other than that, yet to have any major problem as I see for this M3 version.
*
i dont have mirror tickling sound though, hope i wont have that issue

QUOTE(incredibless @ Nov 14 2016, 05:36 PM)
anyone that is owning White color face this issue?
Body and bumper different color.

I have polish and wax still the same. I suspect that Mazda body part did not do a good job in terms of color matching.

Almost once a month I maintain the paint with meguiares ultimate wax and spray wax sad.gif

I notice some CX-5 white also experiencing the same issue but not on other makes even perodua
*
normal with mazda car, probably because bumper and body parts is not sprayed with the same machine that caused the color difference

another possible explanation is due to different materials for body (metal) and bumper (PP)

For CBU owner with snowflake white pearl vs CKD solid white. Which of these white do you think is better looking?
From my observation, the solid white has more glossy effect vs snowflake white pearl.  hmm.gif
*
snowflake white pearl look nicer when view up close, under sunlight you can see some pearl color reflect off the surface

but but but....CKD high spec got more features, CBU got sunroof and i-eloop

It is not racing at all, we all just drove leisurely, of course fd2r and the others will lead first since they know the road well and they organise the outing, slow and bulky car like m3 have to stay at last car

No prize for first place and no punishment for the last, drive at own pace and enjoy the big bowl of noodle in Kuala klawang then drive home safely

definitely will void, actually it is not necessary to install those things

Can. They will do normal service for you. But claim free service will bit tricky because it registered under the original owner.
*
warranty is tied to the car, not the owner, as long as the service & warranty booklet is still there then there will be no problem

they dont actually check your pink slip when service car
