Hi guys, do your Mazda 3 exhaust tank got like yellow black burned color also? My car have that color, is it always driving fast in highway and that why it like this? Sometime speeding in 160km/h, it also got some burning smell...
is normal to have that color due to oxidation, you can even hear tickling sound from there right after you shut off the car
burning smell is normal also if you drive at high rpm for prolong period
Thanks all Finally got the car. Test drove around 30 km with it (only had 1 hour time off). so far really satisfied with the performance. really hope it's not lemon hahaha. Just realised that the paddle shift can overwrite auto mode. don't need to purposely switch to manual. Also sound quality from the speakers are excellent even via Bluetooth connection. One complaint so far is that there are completely no storage space at the door handle level. only got one hole to put a drink that's about. No slot to stuff things also behind the driver's seat.
paddle shift will override auto got a certain amount of time depends on your driving behavior if you do cornering or apply throttle very often then the manual override will last longer before back to auto, is good enough for my usage la, usually i use paddle shift when overtake car or cornering only
if i'm not mistaken the gvc version got slightly bigger storage area for the door compare to non-gvc version, it is a let down for the interior storage space, but it makes your car cleaner since you cant store more things inside the car
my friends who sit my car all said my car so clean, well...because there isn't much place for me to put my stuff
Ooo I see. Yeah storage space very limited in this car.
Noob question for all:
How do you all configure the radio stations ah? It doesn't display all the stations on the screen one ah? I have to dive into favourites everytime?
sadly no, if you want to change the radio station you can access it via favorite menu or you go to Entertainment (or press the music button next to the command knob) then you go to the Scan (or tune? cant remember) option from there you can set your radio station frequency then you can also save it as favorite so you can access it from the Favorite menu
so far there is no way to make it show the radio station name or the song title it is playing, and no tweaks that can do that for nows

Lol yes that seems like to be the only way. Quite ridiculous in my opinion. Every other car, even the Mazda cx 5. I can just press the radio station from the menu. Nobody feedback this to Mazda? should be able to fix via firmware.
Also is there any for the car to auto lock? Or only can do manually? Haha
cx5 and m3 is different firmware, not sure why they do that though, it will take a while for you to get used to it, but so far i have no complain on the radio station, just that it doesn't show the station name or song playing and no album artwork display is a let down
auto lock is not available under certain international safety regulation, but can unlock the feature by accessing the CANBUS configuration, need a laptop and data cable though
I get the 2017 gvc gl , if compare price between 2, 2016 will be a great deal but since it is already one year car, we must compare price for both 2017 car (not sure still got 2017 non gvc model, but Mazda website show the price) , with added around 6k u get some minor changes in appearance, interior improve in terms of cosmetic and storage spaces, improve in sound insulation and gvc system.. No dual zone aircond, gl spec just manual aircond ... No HUD also...
i dont think you get more storage space, but high spec has a set i-activsense system that the GL doesn't have, it is worth the price
and 18" rims look much better on our car

ooo. but have the button hand brake right? or not guess the Malaysian model don't have
I was told the new face-lift M3 SCBS can only support from 10-30km/h instead of maximum speed of 80km/h despite the brochure given by bermaz states 80km/h? Is it true?
i think the 80km/h only give alert and not emergency brake, maybe you can have a look at the user manual to see if you able to meet the condition for the safety system to work
Hi guys, just went for a test drive yesterday. Asked the SA what's the common issues with the M3 and he mentioned something about noise created by bushing at the suspension. Is that true? Any other common issues for the M3 high spec?
what he said is true, and you can claim a new lower arm bush at sc if got sound
mine got rattling issue from dashboard when going high rpm and B pillar got knocking sound when going through uneven road, havent sent to sc to check yet since it is not a major issues
Right now I can't. As its with my friend. Odd but true. The old batt was bought at the same time with the 1st spare batt. So both is the same. The only diff is. The old one is a bit bengkak. Been using for 1yr plus. The new one is flat, already tested still hv 3v. Confirm nothing wrong with the remote, as when used the old batt, both LED works.
maybe the battery doesn't have good contact with the metal at the battery holder there since you said the old battery is a bit bengkak
Just wanna rant abit disappointingly. TBH I was looking to purchase a new car in the upcoming few months and have shortlisted 2 models them being the infamous civic x and Mazda 3. Started as one of the fence sitter and slightly interested towards the mazda3, I was waiting for this new model to hit the road to for me to compare. While the civic x is flooding on the road I still see no sign of the new Mazda 3 until today and it was the grey color model. And man I am disappointed. I really liked the interior and other specs of the car, and the only downfall for me is the new lights and DRL which is worst compared to the previous model and comparingly to their siblings the cx3 and even mazda2. They look weird when turned on as the new circle drl looked like an after market mod and not as bright as the rest. Such a turn off. Sigh. However this is my first sighting of the new Mazda 3 and maybe today's weather was abit gloomy therefore affected their optimum looks and brightness. Am looking forward to see more and compare again. Hopefully by that time I can come to accept it and join the proud owners here. *Sobbing away quietly* 😭
i think you're probably the first one who said so, in certain angle the DRL doesn't look as good as the non-gvc model, but at night time i would say the GVC DRL really win with that fierce look when view from front
this is from pre-facelift
for sure the DRL of other facelift model look gorgeous, but nevertheless, both look way better than the one on civic
and not to mention that the foglight of GVC mode is LED, way brighter and really light up the road unlike the stock foglight on pre-facelift

As for the performance, anyone actually tried with your friend's Civic 1.5T/ Focus 1.5 Ecoboost/ Altis 2.0 etc?(Not race la, sometime tekan tekan haha). Just wondering will it huge different from the latest Civic 1.5.
Turbo will be faster at straight line but civic has limited top speed at 207, our car can go up to 220 so we will eventually catch up if the road long enough , altis no need fight la, m3 can overtake it easily
Not sure about focus but handling wise our m3 is way better than civic and altis
Mazda has very good engineering design to allow use of lower octane fuel for its super high compression engine. Other cars with such compression ratio would require high RON fuels.
Mazda engineers were very smart to ensure that their customers no need to waste money on RON97. So I dunno why u would want to waste your money. Higher RON doesnt improve performance.
the engine can take in 95 and 97, there are owners feedback that 97 give better acceleration and smoother engine
of course no harm putting 95 if dont have budget for 97, i pump 95 since the day i get my car and no issue with knocking at all
just to update. my car stonky brake pedal solved. they change the servo. now it is resolved.
and just realised the car paint is full of orange peel here and there DANG. cant do much about this but sent for paint correction. as i dont think its under warranty guys before pick up car bring high power torch light and really check the Paint.
next thinking how to resolve the highwindnoise issue. thinking adding rubber to door and spray wheel arch with dampening material.
Wind noise only appear after 120kmh and is not as noticeable compare to road noise, adding rubber might help to improve slightly but the main culprit is the road noise
