It seems that he don't want to push during his second stint, and told his engineers that he had gearbox problem.

Added on April 11, 2007, 12:31 amHonda Giving Up on RA107
Honda's ghastly start to the 2007 season looks set to lead to drastic changes within the team, including an all-new car in time for the Canadian Grand Prix.
Following on the heels of news that Honda are eager to sign Ferrari's technical director Ross Brawn, whose future is currently up in the air, comes the news that Nick Fry is keen to introduce a new car and restructure the team's personnel.
Honda have struggled with the aerodynamic package of their RA107, which is unstable under braking and hard on its rear tyres. And although the team has tried changes to both the rear and the front, their terrible form continued in Malaysia.
With little sign of improvement or ways for Honda to up the pace of the RA107, The Times reports that the team is now looking to introduce an all-new car in time for mid-June's Canadian GP. According to one report, the new car will be "a complete revamp of the RA107 concept."
Jenson Button hinted at the work going on, saying: "There's a lot happening back at the factory. It's actually very exciting.
"It's not a position any of us want to be in - so far back - but it's really exciting back at the base. There is so much going on, so many new ideas, so many things going into the wind tunnel.
"It's all very positive. It's a pity we didn't realise earlier what our issues were."
The changes, though, won't stop there.
The newspaper reports that Fry has proposed a new structure that would 'create a fully integrated British-based team at the factory in Brackley and do away with the present set-up whereby about 550 people work in Britain while a further 250 engineers and experts in aerodynamics are working on related projects in Japan.
'It is understood that Fry has put this politically sensitive plan to senior management in Tokyo.'
*
in an article in F1 Racing mag, it stated there that the Honda techies believed that it was a mistake to replace Willis with Nakamoto as the Tech. Director, which i think that caused such a prob to the RA107

I have a feeling that Fernando and Lewis can spoil Massa's party. BMW is quick, but not the race pace. IMO, they can get the best of teh rest
*
if the Ferraris repeat like what they did (qua) in Sepang where Massa holds pole, i think Mclaren can spoil their party

McLaren to use radical wing in Barcelona
QUOTE
Contrary to earlier reports, McLaren has confirmed that its new radical front wing is likely to be used at the Spanish Grand Prix next weekend.

The Mercedes-powered team turned heads with the unique aerodynamic innovation at the Barcelona test this week, which features an upper flap that loops over the tip of the MP4-22 single seater's nose.

But despite some suggestions that the piece had not lived up to engineers' expectations, McLaren's F1 CEO Martin Whitmarsh on Friday confirmed that the team was pleased with the results of its Spanish test.

Drivers Pedro de la Rosa and Fernando Alonso, moreover, are understood to have reported that the bodywork delivered a slight improvement to the car's production of front-end handling.

"Consequentially it will be one of the options available to our drivers during the Spanish Grand Prix weekend," Whitmarsh said.

Singapore confirms 2008 night race

QUOTE
Singapore will host a round of the 2008 FIA Formula One World Championship, it was confirmed on Friday. The race, to be held on a new street circuit, will be the first night-time event in Formula One history.

The announcement follows the agreement of a five-year deal between FOM CEO Bernie Ecclestone, Singapore entrepreneur Mr Ong Beng Seng, and the Singapore Tourism Board.

"I am very pleased to welcome Singapore to the Formula One family and we look forward to this exotic addition to the championship," said Ecclestone. "This will be the first fully lit street race in Formula One.

"As a night race we anticipate it will quickly establish itself as one of the most dramatic and atmospheric races on our calendar. I know the Formula One drivers, teams and fans are all looking forward to coming to Singapore next year."

The new race is scheduled to take place towards the end of the calendar in September or October. The timing of the night event means it can be broadcast at a convenient time for European TV audiences as well as thrilling local fans. It is also expected to have a hugely positive economic impact on the region.

"We are delighted to have reached a deal to bring this landmark event to Singapore, and look forward to working with F1, the Singapore Tourism Board and the business community to deliver a great race and vibrant support events together with the very best of Singapore's famed hospitality and cuisine." Ong added.

The Singapore Grand Prix will take place on public roads around the Marina Bay area. The design proposal includes powerful lighting systems that will replicate daylight conditions and the most stringent safety protocols will be applied to ensure driver and spectator safety.

Grandstand seating and hospitality areas lining the track will be able to accommodate more than 80,000 spectators, while a permanent pit area with deluxe paddock facilities will be built adjacent to the existing Singapore Flyer complex.

"It will be more than just a motor race," commented Singapore's Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Mr S Iswaran. "We envision it to be a national festival, and one that presents many opportunities for participation for everyone, both visitors and Singaporeans alike.

"Singaporeans are excited about the race coming to Singapore and I share their enthusiasm. Singapore looks forward to welcoming the Formula One drivers, teams and fans to Singapore next year."

The Singapore Grand Prix will be managed by Singapore GP Pte Ltd, a newly incorporated race promotion company formed between Komoco Motors and regional events company Lushington Entertainments, via its parent company Reef Enterprises.
