The thing is i am not too sure how to update to 3.52 m33.  How do i exactly update that ? and have any of u guys had this same problem? I dont think there is any mode in 3.51 . only enable and disable umd right?
*
It's very easy to update from V3.51 M33 to V3.52 M33.

Erm, yours is V3.51 M33 (first revision)? I suggest you upgrade to at least V3.51 M33-7 (revision 7) and change to No-UMD Mode to either M33 driver or Sony NP9660.

>>> 3.51 M33-7

>>> 3.52 M33

>>> 3.52 M33-2

(Important reminders:

1. To go from 3.51 M33 to 3.52 M33, you'll need a copy of the official 3.52 update EBOOT (any region's) and the official 1.50 update EBOOT (any region's).

>>> Official V1.50 update EBOOT

>>> Official V3.52 update EBOOT

2. Read the readme. Ask if you're not sure of anything. smile.gif)

Thanks alot man.. appreciate it. Am at work now will try it later . Fingers crossed. I do not know what version it currently it.. it only states 3.51 m33
*
No probs. I think you're at the first revision.

(There are a few revisions for the V3.51 M33:

V3.51 M33
V3.51 M33-3
V3.51 M33-4
V3.51 M33-5
V3.51 M33-6
V3.51 M33-7

Two revisions to date for V3.52 M33:

V3.52 M33
V3.52 M33-2)

Anyway, I'd suggest you to go straight to V3.52 M33, rather than to V3.51 M33-7. After you're at V3.52 M33, go to V3.52 M33-2 (remember: you can't go straight to V3.52 M33-2 from V3.51 M33 without going to V3.52 M33 first. The steps are sequential.). smile.gif

Good luck. thumbup.gif

QUOTE(Lakum @ Aug 1 2007, 09:24 PM)
Already change at no-umd option to Sony np9660?
*
ashwin988: Shut down your PSP. Hold down R-trigger and power on your PSP. In Configuration, change UMD Mode to either M33 driver or Sony NP9660.

QUOTE(skevelim @ Aug 1 2007, 09:41 PM)
Hi Guys, I have installed this 3.52 M33 into my 1GB memory stick.

So want to know if I want to use another memory stick, do I need to repeat the step to install 3.52 M33 or just simply copy the folders into the memory stick?
...
*
No no, this custom firmware (3.52 M33) is not installed on your memory stick. It's installed inside the flash memory of your PSP. So even if you remove your MSPD, your PSP will still run at V3.52 M33.

QUOTE(skevelim @ Aug 1 2007, 09:41 PM)
...
Last question, what is the key to overclock speed? I do not see any overclock instruction in the readme file.
*
Shut down your PSP. Hold down R-trigger and power on your PSP. In CPU Speed, change the speed according to your desire.

I thought of creating a section for custom firmwares in my PSP for Beginners' thread, but I thought that maybe that's not really a beginners' stuff. Oh well, I might just do it in the coming days. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(ashwin988 @ Aug 2 2007, 11:46 AM)
Actually the custom firmware is the orignal firmware with some tweaks so we can play homebrew.
...
*
A more precise explanation would be:

A custom firmware is a combination of two official firmwares:
- V1.50 (homebrew-able), and
- the latest decryptable firmware (latest features).

smile.gif

QUOTE(oldfox @ Aug 2 2007, 06:12 PM)
1 - If you are under official 1.50 PSP firmware, copy kxploitpatcher and kxploitpatcher% folders from "1.50only/" of this download to your "ms0:/PSP/GAME/" and use it.
2 - Once done it, or if you are under any Special/Open Edition/M33, copy M33CREATOR folder to your "ms0:/PSP/GAME" (1.50fw) or "ms0:/PSP/GAME150" (SE/OE)
3 - Download official 3.52 eboot, rename it to 352.PBP and place it on "ms0:/PSP/GAME/M33CREATOR/" or "ms0:/PSP/GAME150/M33CREATOR/"
4 - Download official 1.50 eboot, rename it to 150.PBP and place it on "ms0:/PSP/GAME/M33CREATOR/" or "ms0:/PSP/GAME150/M33CREATOR/"
5 - Go to Games/Memory Stick on your PSP, and execute "3.52 M33 CREATOR". Once finished, it will go back to the XMB.
6 - Go again to Games/Memory Stick on your PSP, and execute "3.52 M33UPDATE". You'll have to press X to agree to the installation.
7 - When finished, press X to shut down and reboot manually.
8 - Enjoy your 3.52 M33 wink.gif

this is the read me file from 3.52 M33
i got few questions:
1. My one is 3.40OE....so i should follow step 1 or step 2??
2. THe step 3 and 4, we need to download the Official ourselves??or use the eboot inside the M33CREATOR folder?
*
Your answers:
1. You can completely ignore Step 1 and proceed straight to Step 2.
2. Yes, you'll need to download official firmware updates by yourself. Then, put the two renamed firmware updates into the M33CREATOR folder.

Good luck. thumbup.gif

Haha, you're welcome. I was a beginner (n00b) so I understand the feeling of not-knowing-something-but-still-wanna-do-it thing. smile.gif

Well, for fake MSPDs, there are a major problem: damn slow transfer rates.

iR Shell 3.61 Updated With A Maintenance Release
QUOTE
The bug fixes in this release include the autoboot plug-in problem which some some configurations experienced as well as the issue with nethostfs crashing when the PSP fails to connect to the server. In addition to this, there are a few other fixes that were implemented:

    * Fixed screen corruption while changing CPU speed in PS1 games.
    * Retained the overclock speed after exiting game/app while nethostfs is active.
    * Fixed adhoc PC nethostfs connection problem. You no longer need to mess with the wlan switch.
    * The MP3 will now resume at the exact position when switching firmware versions (1.5 iR Shell to 3.x iR Shell, or vice versa).

*3.40 OE-A

Yup, you can go to V3.52 M33 straight. As usual, you'll need the official V1.50 & V3.52 update EBOOTs.

what do you mean i need those eboot? LAst tiem i upgrade from 3.10 to 3.40 just use the installer le... CAn list step by step to me?
*
You do need an official update EBOOT if you're to jump from one firmware to another. (e.g. V3.40 M33 -> V3.52 M33)

You don't need an official update EBOOT if you're just updating that firmware. (e.g. V3.52 M33 -> V3.52 M33-2)

The steps are pretty straightforward (I assume you're on OE CFW now):
1. Get the M33 creator and put the M33CREATOR folder into GAME150.
2. Put the renamed official V1.50 & V3.52 EBOOTs into the M33 creator folder (e.g. 150.PBP & 352.PBP).
3. Exit to XMB, go to GAME and run M33CREATOR.
4. After all that finishes (takes quite some time), go to GAME and run M33UPDATE.

(For any further enquiries, read the readme. Post any doubts in your mind and we'll gladly help. smile.gif)

hhhmmm...........
guys...i got few questions here
1.
if i want to upgrade the M33
i dun understand the instruction
Instructions: copy seplugins to the root of the memory stick. Extract the following prx of a firmware: /kd/popsman.prx, /kd/pops.prx, /vsh/modules/libpspvmc.prx and /vsh/modules/pafmini.prx and copy them to /seplugins/popsloader/ with names like popsman3XX, pops3XX.prx, libpspvmc3XX.prx, pafmini3XX.prx, where XX is 40, 51, or 52.
can u explain??
...
*
The plugins are not needed if you only want to upgrade the M33. (Those plugins are only for the PlayStation emulator, if I'm not mistaken. Not too sure about this, cuz I'm not using the emulator..) smile.gif

You don't need the M33CREATOR folder anymore. For now, you can ignore the SEPLUGINS thingy first. smile.gif

V3.52 M33-4 is out. rclxms.gif
QUOTE
Changes in M33-4 (mainly bugfix)

    * Fixed the bug that caused CRC error when writing to flash usb in the XMB. Now writing is OK.
    * Added the new speeds to vshmenu and core, because we forgot in recovery.

Also, a few notes from Team M33:

    * As we didn't want to release a new update without something new, we worked in making 3.10/3.11 to work with popsloader, and that's it, the new popsloader plugins supports them.
    * Instruction for 3.10 and 3.11 are same as 3.30: you need pops.prx, popsman.prx and pafmini.prx with the correct names in popsloader directory. And remember that savedata of 3.10-3.30 are incompatiblewith those of 3.40+. We'll research if a solution for this is possible.
