The good thing is that the original Huawei firmware is not too bad, although its features are limited.

I can't set alternative DNS servers, for example.

Have to use the default TM's DNS servers.

Wifi on both bands are stable, no random dropouts or whatever.

One more thing. IPv6 cannot work in the original firmware.

How is the wifi range for you? Good?
You are staying in apartment or landed houses?

For those of you who uses AsusWRT-Merlin firmware, could you provide the temperature of your CPU?

Anyone had flash back stock firmware before?

After unlocking bootloader/flashing custom firmware, there are still no way yet to return to stock at the moment.. Even the Russians have no idea yet.
Only time will tell..

I haven't. blush.gif
The truth is my current firmware was flashed by a friend. blush.gif
I supposed upgrading firmware is not as difficult as flashing a totally new firmware right?
I last updated a router firmware was back in 2013. blush.gif

Yup..much easier than flashing new firmware.

Follow our forumer guide here

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Aug 7 2016, 12:33 PM)
1. Download latest firmware from XWRT-Vortex website
2. Extract the firmware to your harddrive
3. Login into your router from 192.168.1.1
4. Go to: Administration > Firmware Upgrade > Choose File > Locate the .trx file > Click Upload

Very Important:
DO NOT update your firmware through Wi-Fi. If the upload stream is corrupted, you may brick your router. When uploading firmware, always use ethernet cable

The wireless of my WS880 will go haywire once a while and I need to reboot it manually. I wonder how you guys got your WS880 so stable.  sweat.gif

Bidding goodbye to this awesome router. Just upgraded to the latest firmware of 380.66_2. On Saturday, I will pack up everything and pass to my sister to use for her UniFi connection back in Seremban. Also bidding farewell to my UniFi because I will be relocating my UniFi to her house. cry.gif

Thou shall be missed.
