Just a query. When going on tours overseas, are we limited to RM10k or foreign currency equivalent in hard cash?

Assuming that if I am asked to go for a body search and any excess funds are discovered, will this be forfeited?

I was informed of this by the tour leaders during some of the holiday trips; should spread out among the family members if more than 10k.

But its alright to carry a bank draft if need to bank into overseas account.

Some time back I read about the presence of a max limit on transfers in foreign currency (I can't remember if it's for inbound or outbound or both).

When doing a TT transfer of USDs from a foreign bank account to a USD bank account in Malaysia (CB), is there a maximum above which Bank Negara needs to be informed etc.?

According to CB website you need to comply to BNM's Foreign Exchange Administration rules:

This isn't strictly USD/MYR but it's related.
There might be arbitrage opportunity for MYR - KRW - USD

USD - MYR is currently quite stable.
However, KRW - MYR is dropping very rapidly this week.
This is due to KRW getting stronger against USD, but USD - MYR is relatively unchanged.

I was able to leverage this and sell KRW for MYR for a little profit.
I never studied econs, so I am not sure whether this is good or not but I am getting much better exchange rate than directly buying KRW.

MYR appreciated to 4.049x after BNM decided to hold OPR
