Bursa want the stock affordable be purchase by retailer.
Imagine stock in rmXX per stock, will require ten thousand plus to purchase minimun 1 lot.

Example BAT and Nestle 1 lot = 1000.... brows.gif
By reduce 1 lot = 100 stock then retailer can buy with few rm K.
Same to SGX also impletment 1 lot = 100 stock on 1 Jan 2015.

Dear Felix the cat smile.gif

Understand your point that 100 shares per lot is better than 1,000 as it makes share purchases more affordable to us.

My point however is that we should do away with the concept of 'lots' altogether. I have bought shares in both UK and France but never had to buy in lots!

You can key in the price straight into the price field, don't use the drop down list selection.
I don't think can do stop loss etc, someone can correct me if wrong.
*
there's no stop loss function that is automated. it is still manual means you have to give a stop loss order to your dealer / broker to trigger.

Normally how long do u guys have to wait for your order to be done under the "best sell/buy price"? Within minutes or hours? Or it really depends on that stock?
*
if stock is liquid, usually instantaneous
if illiquid stock, can wait few days / months ..

Just reduce by the order quantity. If current order is 100, reduce by 100. The result is 0 and the order is canceled. That's how it used to work before the upgrade. I haven't tried cancelling order recently, so not sure if something has changed.

Guys, I'm a newbie in stock trading. Just opened CDS and online stock trading acc with maybank.

Then, I transferred money into my trading account, but it shows up as negative in Trust Balance. And, when I tried to buy stocks, it says exceeded trading limit.

What is wrong here? Do I have to wait a couple of days for the Trust Balance to be positive?

Your trading amount ( the buying value ) is larger than the value in your trust. Normally, a trading account is up to 3x the value inside your trust. It might vary, some is 1:1.

Say you got 100 inside trust, your trading limit is 300. Any amount above 300, you gotta contact your dealer rep to open up trading limit for you. No issue if your trading value is below 300 (0.99x).
