What does "Split Qualified Retail Transactions" mean? Saw it in Swipe More For PB Cash T&C and wondering about it.

QUOTE(pvateme @ Mar 15 2017, 04:55 PM) have you guys ever count what is the actual return from mbb amex as comapre to this pb vs now ? with the 5x points and 5% rebate (weekend only), it actually give me 6.25% cash back, with assumption 20k point for rm50 metrojaya voucher. in that case, i should use amex instead of this pb vs in weekends. anyone has the same thought ? QUOTE(drbone @ Mar 15 2017, 06:26 PM) Amex is not as readily available as visa. So if a merchant allows both cards , in terms of benefits percentage wise , yes , Amex is superior. My strategy would be to use Amex during the weekends, and PBB for the other stuff. The reason for this is because I am likely to spend more than PBB's RM833 in a month (especially with the current promotion) and my spending for PBB will be on Monday / Tuesday and NOT on weekends. It is also useful if you are making a transaction which is more than RM833. If you spend RM1,000 on PBB or Amex, you will still get RM50 from each card, but for Amex at least you get the 5x treatpoints as well. In my opinion, PBB's RM833 quota is insufficient on its own. With Amex you now get an additional RM1,000 to play with. |

QUOTE(ytan053 @ Mar 15 2017, 06:41 PM) I look at it this way:- Great analysis and comparison. I agree with all your points.Amex (excluding utilities, insurance, government, education etc) as 6.25% during weekend, otherwise for those "1x tp items" it is 5.25% on weekend. Those items that you cant pay with 6% cash back credit card online and on shopee, Amex is good to go during weekend. example: Tokio Marine insurance. PBVS is 6% for online, dining and groceries - lose to amex during weekend with the exception below that I can think of:- 1) Paying for telecom bills and utilities, with shopee, can get easily another 1% (or more) off. That makes it to 7%. 2) Spending on Monday by swiping 8 x RM50 on Monday itself, 99% chance to get another 12.5% (RM50 for RM400) spent apart from the 7%. Still better than Amex weekend. 3) Even for government bill like MBPJ, DBKL, MBSJ etc, amex during weekend only gives 5% vs PBVS of 6%. Now with the UOB promo of spending RM500 [on Yolo for online] and get RM50 back (10% equivalent) on top of the usual 6% feature, this promo also makes online spending with UOB YOLO more interesting than PBVS and Amex but must spend the RM500 be very early in the week. |

QUOTE(Yamy @ Mar 15 2017, 10:14 PM) Please help to clarify, DBKL is a government transaction, so will not qualify for the promo cash back. You will only get the 6% standard cash back for online transactions.[b]If i split my DBKL Assessment Bill (RM400) in UOB Pay Online to RM50 each for 8 sweipes, am i entitle for the 6% CB and also the RM50 Weekly 8x swipes promo so total i will get RM98 (RM48 + RM50 = RM98)? |

QUOTE(drbone @ Mar 15 2017, 10:56 PM) Tried once using Shopee but in a day, there was a max of 2 transactions allowed, but I need to clarify whether this has happened to anyone else. QUOTE(MGM @ Mar 16 2017, 06:54 PM) I will experiment on Monday and let you know. I haven't used Shopee much, except for 1-2 bills when sellers have promotions. But will try if got nothing else to spend on this coming Monday. Think got some TNB to pay. |

QUOTE(ytan053 @ Mar 17 2017, 05:48 PM) Let me clarify this as I have experienced it and confirmed it myself on 2 days. You can only use the same credit card and pay the same seller maximum twice a a day. Thanks for clear confirmation. When I want to continue buying from the same seller, I need to use another credit cad (i.e. supp card) to buy another 2 items from the same seller. I also confirm that this is correct. I just bought Digi bill payment using Shopee. As mentioned, you can only use the same credit card to pay the same seller a maximum of 2 times per day. If you attempt 3 times, it will say: "Checkout Failed (C05): You have checked out the maximum number of times to the same seller with this card today. Please select a different payment option". When I used my husband's card for the 3rd time, the transaction went through. Just completed my 8 swipes - 3 Shopee Digi Bill Payment - 2 Lazada - 3 11 Street Since the PBB promo started, I've been saving all my online shopping (mainly baby products on 11Street and Lazada) for Monday. So much cheaper and more convenient than buying from supermarket. This post has been edited by lilsunflower: Mar 20 2017, 10:02 AM |

QUOTE(justanovice @ Mar 20 2017, 10:41 AM) I just did 5 transactions. This was discussed previously and several people have reported that its OK. I have tested myself as well, and morning transactions are OK (but I don't think anyone has tried before 7am if I recall correctly). To be safe, "reasonable" morning hours like 8 or 9am should be fine (based on my testing).lilsunflower not worried that shopee will reflect as yesterday's date? I searched that someone tested doing transactions at 8.30 am and is safe though. Thinking should i do shopee after 2 pm (in case it is US based) QUOTE(MGM @ Mar 20 2017, 10:47 AM) When u paid digi bills via shopee, did u key in delivery address? When I click [PLACE ORDER] nothing happened, isnt it suppose to request for OTP? Yes, I keyed in delivery address. I find that the desktop webpage is a bit messed up. Using the Shopee App on mobile is a lot simpler. And yes, you will be directed to the OTP page. If nothing happened, probably didn't complete all the requisite fields.Note: As mentioned before, this thread shouldn't go off topic into Shopee discussion. If you have any queries, please send PMs so that this doesn't go off topic. Thanks. |

QUOTE(donhue @ Mar 20 2017, 01:18 PM) Yeah.. i understand that.. we still have until 30-Apr to fully pay ma.. still got time to maximize CB while avoiding penalties.. I did it last year by splitting 2 months over a few supplementary cards. This year I'm using my precious 833 quota for the campaign, as income tax is government transaction and does not qualify. So I will use my MBB Amex on weekend instead and just forego the extra cashback. I've been paying full every year.. just that this is the first time I'm considering using CB CCs to pay to at least get something back.. times are hard.. lol.. You must be very careful though. Remember to save each payment receipt and reconcile with the e-ledger on LDHN website which should be updated a few days after payment. If any payment is not captured, call LDHN asap. I had no problems last year, but was very careful and paranoid. This post has been edited by lilsunflower: Mar 20 2017, 01:39 PM |

Wow. Didn't log on all morning and suddenly this thread is quite chaotic.
Hope the thread limbo issue will be sorted soon. Other issuers like Aeon and MBB have separate threads for the various cards. And even PBB WMC has its own thread although hardly anyone seems to have it lol. |
