Is a medical check up required before we enter a job in research?

If I graduate with a bio medical science degree, and i want to work in any research or lab department, do they require a medical check up?

And if so, will Hep. B cause me not to get the job?

I think u need to be honest loh, before u do medical checkup, jsut tell ur hiring company, and convince them that u will be very careful, your Hep B is under control and won affect ur performance. Since u need to went thru the probation period, u can say that if ur HEP B is  worsening and affect ur performance, just fire u loh, bla bla bla............

I don't see Hep B will be a restricting factor.

There is a likelihood since you are in the biomedical industry.
Those are semicon companies; TS stated he/she is in the biomedical research field and Hep-B is transmittable via bodily fluids which may or may not affect the results of his work.
