Quoting back my previous post. Any sifu kind enough to advise? Thanks in advance.
*
Based on my experience - I received my card on 7 April, swiped on 9 April, and got a statement for 28 April even though it was not a full statement month. I got full cashback for that statement.

This is different from PBB, where my first statement was only generated after completing a full statement month.

Hope this helps.

Nope, no cards give cash back for Grab. smile.gif

Except those 0.2%, 0.5% or 1% cashback cards.

My strategy is charge to Aeon and pay using Pos Online with CIMB CR or PBB VS.

Can appeal? How to appeal?

I suggest you send them an e-mail as Fruitie mentioned.

Based on my experience, CIMB has a strange automated system, which may result in auto rejection for no "real" reason. My most recent experience with them is as follows:

I hold more than 15 CCs (average 2-3 from each mainstream bank) and have never had a rejection. However, I applied for CIMB CR in March this year, and was sent 2 cards (CIMB CR + CIMB Petronas), with 100k+ credit limit. I did not activate the CIMB Petronas since I never applied for it.

In May, I applied for a CIMB Visa Infinite and received an almost immediate auto rejection (via a call from CS). When I asked CS why, she said the system auto rejected but cannot disclose reasons. She gave me the standard kind of answers when I asked more questions and advised me to write in.

I e-mailed the card centre, and within 2 days CS called me to say that my application had been approved and combined credit limit increased by 50k.

I don't know WHY I was rejected, but after writing in, everything was super quick and easy. In fact, they were very keen to give me the Visa Infinite card.

Fill in form and send via email.
Supplementary cannot have 1 hour approval, not any bank offers this.
*
Not very sure about the exact process because I didn't do it, but when I was applying for my supp cards (which I did via email), I recall CIMB CS said can do same day approval at KLCC and Midvalley card centre for supp card.

I'm not super sure if this info is correct since I don't have first hand experience, but can call CS to confirm exact procedure and time line.

My online application was processed in 2 working days, but it took a while to actually receive the card (total approx 2 weeks from submission of application).

Are you sure 1 hour approval for supp as well? That's good then. smile.gif

Not 100% sure as I wasn't really paying attention and didn't use this myself, but I vaguely remember she said collect same day if I needed it urgently. It's worth calling CS to confirm before going there, so I don't give wrong information.

I filled in with the supp card number, and my cards were approved.

Quite annoying right? Haha.

Yes by email. No notification, just an automated acknowledgement email. I used that email and forwarded to the card center email address asked for status. Then, somebody called and closed my case. Monday's night is still early to follow up now.

My brother received his supp cards (for parents) today - he received approved sms same day as you. So yours probably arriving soon.

will there any acknowledgement from CIMB?

I email application form to  cardsmktg@cimb.com
*
I had the same problem with you. I called CS and they told me that the e-mail address is useless and receives loads of complaints. So ignore it, even though its the one listed on the website!

So, they said, send to cardcentre@cimb.com. You will receive an auto acknowledgement, and should receive a proper acknowledgement in 1-3 working days.

I think CIMB like to send extra cards, even if you apply only for 1. I applied for CIMB CR, and they sent me 2 cards (CR + Petronas). I called them immediately and told them to cancel the Petronas card. I agree with the principle that should cancel cards that you won't use, to avoid having to manage them even if they don't have annual fees.

Both also no mother maiden name update. I mean CIMB and UOB. I think I need to give up for this round.
*
Just to clear up any confusion, here is a step by step explanation which MAY solve your problem. I think other forummers were also trying to say the same thing, but here is my attempt:

1. On the red left-side toolbar on PosOnline, scroll to the bottom and look for the header "Personal Info".

2. Click on "Change Password"

3. There you will see Mother's Maiden Name - Enter in the format which you think you entered when you signed up. See what happens.

If really can't work, then you will have to contact POS Online (call or e-mail) to see if they can reset for you. Important thing to remember is that the format is really important. Cannot miss out spaces, or capitalisation etc.

Actually e-pay is not a bad idea though cannot pay bills with credit cards but can reload mobile phone with credit cards. smile.gif
http://www.e-pay.com.my/

Also, it has Grab reload, since CIMB CR doesn't give cash back for Grab anymore, I think can buy and get cash back from using the online e-pay.

I will still prefer to buy mobile reloads from Lazada as I still can get cash back plus free Lazada vouchers for next purchase.

Just giving you guys another alternative.
*
Wow, didn't know epay was so extensive!

For mobile reloads my fave combo is Shopback + Lazada + online cashback card.

Hi guys,

Recently I've got myself CIMB PETRONAS MasterCard. It's my first card.

I've already activated it. I'm aware that the card doesn't have any annual fee for life but If I don't use it at all, will I still need to pay anything? Annual GST fee or whatever?

Also, is it true that the annual fee is free for life?

Many thanks in advance.
*
If stated free for life without conditions, it is free for life. No GST, nothing.

But if you don't use it at all, no point keeping it. Good practice not to keep dormant cards because they show on your credit file, and also potential risk of fraud (if someone uses it without your knowledge).

Any reason why you chose this card?

Since this is a CIMB thread, is it true then the card that I applied for is free for life?

This is the link to the card I have:
http://www.cimbbank.com.my/en/personal/pro...mastercard.html

I just want to be sure that I won't be paying anything extra as in any fees besides the interest and everything written in the TnC.

The main reason actually is, I plan to use it to fill up for petrol since I've been using Petronas 99% of the time.

But I haven't started to use it because I feel like it's kinda hard to track how much of Petrol I have filled in for the current month.

This is my current situation: Each month I withdraw cash RM300 for Petrol and most of the time I use less than RM300 but since I can see the balance left, I don't feel worried. I know how much left and I can budget till the end of the month. Somehow after applying for this CC, I'm worried I might exceed the monthly Petrol allocation as I'm not sure how much I've used.

Do you know how I can track my budget if I use CC ? If I fill up Petrol, how long does it take to appear in CIMB Clicks?

Do I have to wait for the monthly statement to check how much I have used?

Sorry for the silly questions. I'm very new to this. I just don't want to get myself in debt.

1. Item 4 of the FAQ says no annual fee. Which means no annual fee. Don't worry.

2. Regarding budget. Why not you create a simple Excel sheet (see attached sample which took me 1 minute). Then can easily track smile.gif.

3. CIMB Clicks - Typically 1-3 days max to show up.

4. If you're REALLY super worried about exceeding, perhaps you check whether buying a Petronas Gift Card from Petronas qualifies for the cashback. Or you can self-experiment. For example, go to Petronas and buy a gift card for the lowest denomination (don't know how much this is) and pay using your Petronas CC. Once you've bought the card, call CIMB Customer Service and ask them to check your latest transaction and confirm if this will qualify for the cashback.

IF the Gift Card method works and you're really scared to use your CC, then you can just Reload RM300 monthly (or whatever amount you wish) into your Gift Card using your CC. Lock your CC up in a drawer, and just use your Gift Card for petrol.

I personally think that using CC is much much more convenient, but I have set out the above alternative for you to consider.

Two for CIMB CR. It is better if you could check with CS. I could be wrong. I just referred to first post that shows the maximum cash back with supplementary cards.
My CL is still more than RM 20k. sweat.gif Maybe I will need to call to reduce as well.
*
Yes 2 for CIMB CR - stated in their faq.

I was thinking the same thing, then I went to read the CIMB CR T&C and FAQ and doesn't look like there's any limitation on Supp Cards!

I think when I first applied, I saw Item 7 of the FAQ and automatically (incorrectly) assumed that we can only apply for 2.

Now looks like we can apply for more!!! Woohoo. rclxms.gif
