1. Brand : Nissan Sentra / other reliable car?
2. Budget : below rm20k
3. New/Used/Unreg : Used unit
4. Specs : Standard, SG-L 1.6, etc if other car
5. Transmission : Auto
6. NA or FI : NA = Natural Aspirated
7. Type : Sedan
8. I work at Pahang. Every 2 weeks must go thru KL, Melaka, Penang by highway. To add some about me:

- i'm 27 but I don't mind standard car
- but i prefer interior (insulation, premium look)
- seldom pedal like crazy
- very schema one (wear seatbelt, hate loud exhaust sound)
- want cheap maintain + efficient FC
- reliable for next 5~10 years

My opinion: I found N16 Sentra 2005, 1.6 (A) with 150km mileage for RM18k. Worth it?

worthy based on what criteria and budget?
the accord or perdana?
Mileage on such old cars is quite subjective.
For example this 2007 Nissan Sentra 1.6 which is about the same price as the one you proposed but the quoted mileage is only 70,000kms, now that would mean from 2007 until now (9years) everyday is only clocked 21kms, believable?

Yours having 150,000kms on it is quite believable however that's pretty high mileage for an engine and depending on condition of it, it might needs a top half overhaul just to clean up the gunk.

Sentra is decent in reliability and cheap maintenance, however compared to newer cars it isn't as fuel efficient and interior space is quite cramped.

2008 Mitsubishi Lancer 1.6 GLX - if you can stretch your budget you might want to consider a car like this one, one thing though with a decent bodykit on this car does age quite well. It is a distant cousin of the Proton Persona and Waja, it uses a 4g engine thus if you're one to upgrade engine or if the engine fails you've the option of installing from a wide variety of engines from the chop shop from Proton 4g series engines in Wira 1.3/1.5/1.6/1.8, Satria GTI 1.8, etc to Mitsubishi stuff like the 1.6 v6 engine many options -- since you mentioned you need something that can last 10 years i was thinking this cause if anything happens you don't need to worry about replacement parts as you can use Proton/Mitsubishi while still enjoying a Japan CBU car. Also the interior is more well done up than on the Waja.

I see. Quite options u got above and made me thinking. Again, I'm not into any specific name in 'japan made' 'conti' etc.

I will add up lancer since I use to ride Waja and if the ride is look-alike, it will be good then 👍🏻👍🏻

Plan to buy this machine:

- Persona Elegance H-Line year 2011/2012 around RM22k-RM27k
- or if got 2013/2014 much better
- have RM5k for emergency repair
- I'm not racer not ahbeng type driver. Always take off slowly wink.gif

1. I will mainly use it at Putrajaya soon (I'm not sure about traffic there, ok i think?) sometime go Genting/KL to jalan2..
2. Most comment are about b-line,m-line and pre-2011 edition. What about H-Line above?
3. I drove Preve premium and like it. This version is a bit like Preve i guess?

What do you think?

2008 Nissan Sentra 1.8 - if you're looking for something non-local but still good value plus decent maintenance cost you can consider this model, this particular advert is for the 1800cc variant, you may want to consider the 1600cc variant if you want to lower fuel consumption and maintenance cost. Although this car is fairly new in terms of age the design is rather old so the engine is the older not so efficient type but still very cheap to maintain today.

Persona Elegance H-Line 2011 vs this.. Do you think better to get Persona since it is newer and younger 3 years than Sentra with the same price?
