hmmm i think its best if you filter it a little more.... many cars will still fit your listed criteria. provide more info, do you like a large car? smaller car? tall car, hatch, sedan, suv? or maybe mention what are your needs e.g. aesthetics, reliability, low running costs, performance, space, safety 

note that, good resales value means that you as the buyer is also paying alot more for the car... imo this is only a good thing to have if you buy the car new (or want to own the car short term)

2011 Nissan Latio Sedan 1.6 - you should consider the Nissan Latio over City/Vios because those are high RV cars so you've to pay more for younger cars or to keep it within budget you've to settle for older ones, this particular advert is for a 2011 car (5 years on is still quite okay). In terms of technology it is quite basic like the Vios the engine and gearbox are standard types with nothing fancy to go wrong so it is easier and cheaper to maintain. It should be slightly cheaper to maintain than City because regular gear oil is cheaper than CVT oil. As for space the Latio is a C-segment (or jumbo B-segment if you will) so it gives you more space than Vios/City driving around will be more comfortable for you and passengers.

2013 Nissan X-Gear 1.6 - although it is not a sedan I thought I show you this as it is a very underappreciated car from Nissan thus even for a quite new car it depreciate like a rock but it is actually a pretty good car. It uses the same engine and gearbox as Latio/Livina. Space wise it is bigger than Latio, it is a full size C-segment crossover/wagon. I think for your budget this is a good deal seeing that it is younger too. Tall roof line for tall people or people with long legs/torso.

for your budget you won't be able to get any decent toyota's younger than 2010 

when trying to keep maintanance low... try not exactly the best idea to go for those conti's

you have inspiras (basically mitsulah) but maintanance isnt the cheapest around
you have the sylphy (even uglier than the xross x)
you have the city, the common everyday seen car...
vios need not be mentioned, everyone knows it

theres the lovely 308 turbo, nce to look at nice to drive but.... i myself x berani nak beli. turbo go, tranny go... money fly fly fly
theres the fiesta, which can cost abit to maintain. tranny issue jugak
theres the polo which if goes wrong will make you want to shoot yourself.
(heck if any of these 3 goes wrong you would shoot yourself)

Hi all, rarely visit this subforum but would like some opinion on this.

Am looking to replace my 2003 Waja with something that has better fuel consumption, but at the same time not sacrificing cabin space. I spend anywhere between RM200-RM250 a month on petrol as I travel in town quite a bit for meetings, and would like to take that figure down lol.

Was offered a 2013 Civic Hybrid with 31k mileage for ~70k, and wondering if it's better value compared to the City E series? Heard some contrasting comments about maintenance for the civic hybrid: some say it should be cheap since they use same civic parts, but that a lot of mechanics don't want to service it cos of the complex electronics.

Am seriously considering the hybrid since it ticks the important criteria (low FC and large space), but am a bit worried about maintenance. It's also considerably cheaper than a new city. Hoping you guys can shed some light on this, thank you!

Time to look West, but a Conti instead, E90 , cheap & fun to drive in your range of budget

I would suggest to bring it to a Service Center and get it checked, it only cost about RM 80 or so
