I am looking for a car for daily driving and maybe some occasional travel. I saw the new Mazda 1.5 at ~RM120K and it fits the budget. Asking if there is a better option out there.
1. Brand. Traditional Japanese brand (Honda, Toyota or Mazda). Will consider new brand from China.
2. Budget. RM 120K -130K.
3. New/Used/Unreg. Prefer new since not really good at determining used car condition.
4. Specs. ICE. Not EV. Can consider hybrid.
5. Transmission. (Automatic, Manual, Sequential Manual Transmission, Tiptronic, AMT, DSG, etc) Automatic. Don't care much if is CVT, DSG or DCT.
6. NA or FI ? (NA = Natural Aspirated, FI = Forced-induction aka Turbocharged/Supercharged) Any.
7. Type. (Sedan, 2 Seater, Convertible, and etc) Hatchback. Will consider sedan or compact SUV as well.
8. Remarks. (add anything u like) Space is not important. Prefer compact size car instead of large SUV. ADAS with adaptive cruise control at low speed is preferred.

QUOTE(dogbert_chew @ Oct 12 2025, 12:15 PM) Why have a minimum spend of 120K, for status? Anyway, what's your transportation needs - Daily passengers? How far do you drive daily. How fast on highways Toyota Raize is a solid A-segment choice Sold in Japan for ard Yen2M Here RM73K Another A-Segment SUV would be CX-3 Other B-segment options - TiggoCross, X50, HR-V 1.5L Small hatch you can also test drive City or even Myvi to see if their specs and low speed ACC is implemented to your liking. Thanks for the recomendation. Just want to splurge a bit for a better ride. Been driving a beater for a long time and would like to drive something nicer. Not driving fast (within speed limit), just ~45 km daily commute of mixed highway and heavy traffic. Perodua don't have low speed ACC. Honda City only has low speed ACC on hybrid (not preferred)

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Oct 12 2025, 02:20 PM) Rm120k better buy others, instead of Mazda 3 with a "myvi" engine. Nowadays all giving 1.5 Turbocharge engine, and once u try it, definitely will accustomed to the power, low rpm peak torque etc. The problem is that those engines are mostly on large SUV which I don't like. Smaller options are HRV 1.5E/V (a bit over) or X50. Not too concern about power. It mostly for daily drive.

QUOTE(dogbert_chew @ Oct 12 2025, 04:17 PM) Yup, Ativa Alza ACC is from 30-125kmh only. Not sure if Yaris Cross is All-Speed ACC and if P2 Nexis variant launching next month will have it Been hearing about this Nexis/Yaris Cross for years. Not sure it will ever release. Even if it got ACC low speed, it will be on highest spec with excessive red/chrome decoration/bodykit which looks ugly to me.

QUOTE(dogbert_chew @ Oct 15 2025, 02:36 PM) Can see you're going after the X50, presumably for its Intelligenct Cruise Control - all speed ACC Including up to 3 seconds full stop before resuming. Can share if this is applicable for all variants including the 86K Executive? Yes. End up booking X50 since Mazda 3 1.5 queue is until next year earliest. The SA also seem not interested on selling it. Only Premium and Flagship have ICC.
