Honda Civic: too ricer boy style, CVT transmission is lifeless (unless you like it like that).
Jetta: questionable reliability and service, resale value drops like a stone.
So just take the Mazda, it's the cheapest anyway but maybe also the slowest not as roomy inside.

Mazda not as slow i think? Read online as below

0-100km/h:
Civic: 8.2s
Jetta: 8.6s
Mazda3: 8.8s

Top Speed:
Civic: 207km/h limited
Jetta: 220km/h
Mazda3: 210km/h

Like Civic styling, Mazda premium interior, solidness of Jetta and the brand. Damn..... rclxub.gif

Hi sifus

1. Brand : preferably continental
2. Budget : rm200-250k max
3. New/Used/Unreg : Used car. Recond also will do but heard many bad feedbacks buying recond cars as we never know what the car has been thru, maybe if anyone know trustworthy dealer please let me know (KL/Selangor)
4. Type : D or E segment (currently driving honda city and looking for an upgrade)
5. Transmission : both will do

currently looking at audi but got 2 frens owned audi before and had bad experience (one bought recond a5 2.0 only drove one year engine gone, need to replace new one. another one bought new Q7 petrol and he said the car "drinks" engine oil. but of course not all are like that)
and also thinking of e250. any common problem with this car?
and maybe 330e, but after the 5yrs warranty the battery is like a time bomb. correct me if im wrong, it cost 50k to replace.

besides that when is the best time to buy? like when dealers normally give good discount. some ppl told me after chinese new year and before march is the best time to buy. is that true?

all recommendations/advices are welcome.

thanks and cheers

Depends what you prefer more. Performance? Luxury? Eye catching?
If you are into performance, then get the regular 330i not the 330e. Can get pre-reg around your budget
If luxury is your thing then go for Lexus ES250. Although it is a Camry 2.5 under the hood, but the design, fit and finish will not let you down. Even the top 3 german brands cant even fight in this department. New car around your budget
If looks is what you want, then go for Merc. Either the C300 AMG or E250 AMG. Both pre-reg and recond around your budget.
Another cheaper option would be VW Passat. Never really recommend Audi. It is basically a VW with Audi branding and some looks changes.

thanks for your suggestions.
ES250 is more luxury than e250? i need to go see it myself as i have never driven es250. appreciate this new option as it didnt cross my mind.
looks like e250 is the best bet for my budget now.
can u pls elaborate more on audi if u dont mind?

E250 "looks" more modern and ES250 "feels" more luxury
Simply put it this way. If you age 40+ then go for ES250. If below 40, then go for E250.
Malaysian need to give Lexus more attention for my opinion. They make good car.

Audi well known for transmission issue. Quattro is fun but maintenance cost a bomb.
If you considering Audi A4, then better go for new VW Passat 2.0 TSI Highline. Much more spacious, modern looking and high tech. The instrument cluster is just so seductive to look at. Not to say it is a Golf GTI under the hood.
The exact same engine and transmission.

A used A5 around 150k max. A4 130k max. A6 Hybrid 170k max.

Hi Bros

want to ask your opinion on the following choice

1. Brand : Mercedes - Benz
2. Budget : RM150k and below
3. New/Used/Unreg : used or unreg
4. Specs : C200 (2013 year) or C180
5. Transmission : AUTO
6. NA or FI :
7. Type :
8. Remarks : prefer white, if unreg better cause want to transfer my old number plate over

Planning to get MB, can also used as wedding car, prefer white
also want to get the one with face-lift (which have the 'C' shape LED light in front)

- can see Mudah they selling around 110k - 150k, mostly used car, but their advertisement looks very fake
- 1st time 2nd hand car buyer here
- what are the common things to do? go to the autocity and test drive? or drive to mercedes workshop and ask them check?

the current model is W205? - not very sure on merc, just wanna upgrade to a decent car
- many people say, buy 2nd hand merc sure masuk workshop many times (this abit scary)

Can go HEXAGREEN AUTO. Opposite Afcar Auto. All the car there are under Mercedes Malaysia and mostly pre-register under Mercedes Malaysia in KL for director use only, unlike Afcar Auto all are recond.
First think you want to check is the mileage.

Thanks so much for the advise bro
but this one based in Penang, anyways they do have nice cars with nice price

Will continue to check my homework

usually 2013 car, and mileage below 100k would be the best?
*
For normal use should be 20k per year max is acceptable
So for car 2013 for me i will accept until 70k. Anything above that i will bargain kuat kuat if i really want that car

My parent get a W204 C250 from Hexagreen in 2014. pre-register in year 2013 mileage only 5k at 225k.
