Do you think i should spend the extra 30k to get a 2014/2015 328i?
*
No. Get a 2014/2015 320d so that it’s cheaper than the 328i. Better fuel consumption as well with the diesel.

328i is stupid powerful. 320d is enough.

Best to get it still with warranty. Some peace of mind.

1. Brand : Undecided between used Audi A4 2015 or A3 2015
2. Budget : RM120k
3. New/Used/Unreg : Used
4. Specs : 1.8 TFSI QUATTRO
5. Transmission : AT
6. NA or FI : -
7. Type : Sedan
8. Remarks : Spacious room is more preferable.

Dear fellow forumers,

I'm thinking of getting a used Audi A3 or A4 2015 years. Having searched around and got a few results ranging from 100 to 110k excluding OTR and insurance etc. I'm wondering is it still worth to get a used 4 years old car and what's the recommendation and advises/tips when purchasing them?

Thanks
*
Why is QUATTRO mandatory? If you need space it’s obvious to take the A4 over the A3.

Just be advised on maintenance and wear and tear parts. Factory Support for Audi not as good as BMW and Mercedes. Of course aftermarket there are lots. Buy it if you like it.

Alternatively Passat 1.8 which shares the engine with the A4, but using problematic dry DSG where the clutch is a wear and tear. But purchase price of the car is cheaper than A4 by a lot, and much more spacious. I think the Passat cabin is nice. A classic and roomy feeling.

planning to get a used SUV @ RM50-70K range.

CX5 / SANTA FE / SORENTO .. last choice CRV because smallest among these models.. harrier around this price range too old sad.gif

eye-ing at Sorento/CX5, what's your thought guys?
*
CX-5 because its the most modern engine & transmission wise from the others. And it is more common than the kimchi = more parts available. CX-5 is award winning and have good driving dynamics (relatively to SUVs)

Looking to buy my first car that i will sometime use to go to work from cheras to semenyih (currently using motorcycle) and maybe for balik kampung.
This is my first post outside of computers, so forgive me.  tongue.gif
and thats right, i have poor knowledge regarding automobiles.
currently eyeing on the manual myvi 1.3 G and with the exception of new premium saga,
but any suggestions such as to which showroom i should buy, maintenence, third party parts, etc2, is very much welcome.

thank you  rclxm9.gif

Balik kampung choice always the Proton sedans over the Perodua. More planted and firm on the road. No experience with Iriz so I don't know. Have you test driven the cars? Myvi has way better spare parts availability due to local original, OEM taiwan/china and half cut from japan.

bro...one is an all wheel drive monster, another a rear wheel drive grand tourer... both have different dynamics. if you want all out performance, power and handling, a track killer, the GTR still is the bomb. i'm only talking stock to stock lah... but i prefer the looks of the Supra..it is sleeker, and you get warranty. the 8 speed ZF gearbox is buttery smooth for cruising. you need to drive both and see what you want. i feel GTR is too brash. Plus the Supra is a brand new car, the GTR is a 12 year old platform.... I'd pick the newer car for advancement in technology -- creature comforts and other new tech.

I am not saying the Supra is better. Its just whats important to you?

-Looking for something to upgrade my current Myvi 2008.
-Using it to go to work only, 15-20km/day.
-Considering on Preve/Suprima.
-And preferably not Myvi, iriz. Wanted an upgrade from previous Myvi yet within budget and presentable (to meet client and etc)

No concern on road tax, maintenance, fuel consumption? No requirement on age of car?
2005/06 Toyota Mark X 2.5L V6 rear wheel drive. It's a TOYOTA
Confirm an upgrade over your Myvi, an upgrade over the Preve/Suprima too
07 Camry 2.4L can be had around 30k as well...but what for when you can have a 2.5L V6 with rear wheel drive?

Alternatively a 09 Honda Accord 2L (accordana) which has a huuuuuuuggggeeee cabin, if you want load of space and a newer car.

I assume you want better comfort, since only ~20km a day. A Preve isn't significantly more comfortable than a Myvi... handles way way way better, but comfort is meh. Mark X is a significant and obvious upgrade in terms of space, comfort and driving dynamics (RWD yo)

at 30k used you have many choices, mostly stupid money pits like kimchi, french, german.
Preve probably feels like falling apart as well -- compared to the accord and mark x.
a good B segment can't best a good C segment, and a good C segment can't best a good D segment. I recommend you all D segments since no concern on fuel, maintenance or road tax

No concern on road tax, maintenance, fuel consumption? No requirement on age of car?<== yes, this will be a concern as well. prefer it to be economical.
road tax- 1.6 cc?
fuel consumption - rm200/month?
age of car- preferably 2015/16?

Given your requirements then you have no choice. 30k upgrade from Myvi <2015 , only Preve/Suprima.

You may buy it now.

U seems like furious when suggest d segment sedan 🤔🤔😆. There is a reason why d segment is very cheap. As owner of 2.4Litre D segment, I dont really recommend d segment unless someone use their car for long distance trip and dont really care about fc. Short city trip really kill fc for this heavy kerb weight car

D segment best fc the best is 13km/L but that is if someone drive at majority highway with 110kmh. Mostly dont drive at 110kmh. Really hard tbh to drive at 110kmh since u dont feel the speed hence most of the time u will maintain at least 140kmh.

But rm30k really a bargain to those who can fuel this thirsty car
*
I think you need to look at his requirements in his first post as he didn't state FC requirements or age of car. And I highlighted that in my post. Only requirement was upgrade from Myvi & impress clients. A Proton won't "impress" anyone. Which is why I suggest D segment sedan, as those D segments would be more spacious, handle better and impress people more so than a Myvi. C segment won't necessarily beat Myvi in cabin space, especially head room.

Want comfort, want to impress people, want upgrade from Myvi, want good FC.. buy any of the Volvo T8s or BMW edrive or Mercedes E350e/C300e. icon_idea.gif

Personally, I have no preference towards D segments. I wouldn't buy one myself either even if I need the space, probably go for SUVs.

I also like suv until one day I test drive proton x70 as I feel suv no stable ma. Unless those expensive rm300k above suv. I had try x70 2 months ago. Sales advisor damn kind people. During test drive, frequently ask me to pedal to the metal. Until I think, why not right drive fast, rims is 19inch. Tbh, I dont dare to drive test drive car fast, but he keep cucuk me. Then me drive fast la.

Pickup is very good tbh, but when it comes to fast cornering, u can feel it chasis flex so much compare to sedan. Some sharp cornering even u drive ordinary still feel chassis is flex higher as compare to sedan. Immediately my taste towards suv is death.

Coming home see someone mention moose test on forum. Then see youtube, geely bouyue moose test really sux. No wonder I feel scare drive fast.

But suv in term of visibility is very good. But to drive fast no good. Dunno how people can drive this affordable suv fast. Lol. Only expensive suv I see pass moose test with flying colours.

For my driving style, I won't look at X70. I've enough of sailing boats on the road. Bare minimum Mazda CX-5 2.0 GLS. I'd love the 2.5 turbo but not worth the additional road tax and price premium for my daily driving route. Maybe you should test drive that. Next up it's the BMW X5, followed by the Volvo XC90 T8 bus.

But you can't beat laws of physics. If you want a SUV, somethings gotta give.

My rationale for the SUV is ease of ingress/egress, higher clearance (Klang Valley roads always flood lol), better visibility, in that order.

Why get a used 6 yr old BRV that's no longer in production when a brand new Alza based on Toyota Veloz is available at a similar price?
*
Because Honda yo
VTEC just kicked in yo

It’s not a sound purchase but it’s his money. I’ll pick a new Toyota Alza all day every day.

VTEC kick in for MPV carrying family? 🙄

Should get a Jazz then for better power weight ratio
*
BRV is SUV ok. You stupid or what?

MPV is the perfect family carrier but the men feels it’s too soccer mom. Thus the rise in lifestyle SUV segment.

practicality wise nothing beats MPV. But gaya more important.
